  1. "Substantial contact"? I think the operating definition of "insubstantial contact" is probably "contact being absorbed by someone other than yourself". Hell, anyone who's ever played sports knows that the visual impact of a play often doesn't tell the story of what that play FELT like. Sometimes you hop right back up from highlight reel hits while a rather mundane looking play hurt like hell.
  2. This is super weak. "Keep Pounding" is one of the long-standing Panthers traditions that definitely needs to stay.
  3. I mean, if you suck roughly equally at everything I guess that still counts as "versatile".
  4. I'm a little jaded. I've been eating our OL "cooking" for years and I think I have dysentery now. Seattle's OL situation isn't any better.
  5. I'd feel better about them fixing it if their vet FA additions didn't look like doormats and yet evidently still considered better options than the rookies they drafted.
  6. Seeing Elflein and Daley in particular play might be speeding up some timelines.
  7. The bait is in the water and the hammer is in hand. Just over here warming up my arm like
  8. I get it, you like PFF's grading system and wanna stump hard for it, but c'mon man... There's a reason why CMC is considered one if not the very best all around RB in the NFL and there's a reason why our coaches have a hard time not feeding him like a goose headed for the table as foie gras.
  9. I don't disagree. That's why I really liked the draft pick and was disappointed when he got released last year. He flashes the talent, not sure what the issue(s) is that's keeping him off the field.
  10. This. This is how Chinn should ideally be used. Chancellor was essentially allowed to be what he was - a LB/S hybrid wrecking machine. We need a legit FS to free him up to do this. It doesn't have to be prime Earl Thomas, but prime Earl Thomas would be
  11. It probably has a lot to do with the historic inconsistencies of Winston. We saw good Jameis this week so history dictates we see bad Jameis next week.
  12. It's what I've been saying the whole time. We had a goalline fumble and two missed throws to wide open receivers in the endzone. That's not on the OC. Had we put up 40 points like we should have only the most devout of complainers would be complaining about the offensive output.
  13. I don't have much issue with our approach at TE this off-season. We signed a mid-level FA and we drafted a 3rd round prospect. One was viewed as primarily a receiver and the other primarily a blocker. That's a decent investment in the position on one off-season.
  14. I'm surprised the line is that close to be honest. That's a lot more respect than I thought we'd get.
  15. I can imagine. That was quite the rollercoaster ride even watching it without a care in the world who actually won.
  16. Meanwhile, Leatherwood looks like trash.
  17. This is fair. Ricci may have come in too tight, but the bottom line is that Sam has to hold that ball in and not extend it until the FB clears. If he did, even if Ricci came in a little too tight it wouldn't have mattered at the end of the day. We run very little I formation and rarely field a FB so I'm sure we haven't practiced it much either, but at the end of the day, this is day one of QB 101 stuff we're talking about here - a simple handoff on a HB dive play with a FB lead blocker out of the I formation.
  18. Hartsfield is hurt and Bouye is still suspended. Yeah, we're thin right now.
  19. Like the old saying goes, there's no defense for a perfectly executed pass. Horn had great coverage on that play and Wilson threw a perfect pass. If it's slightly underthrown, Horn breaks it up or possibly picks it off. Slightly overthrown and it sails wide uncatchable. It had to be perfect and it was. That's just how it goes in the NFL sometimes.
