  1. No, I'd rather trade down and accumulate more future draft assets because we're probably going to have to trade up next year.
  2. If we don't answer the QB question elsewhere, then any pick other than QB is going to be deeply disappointing.
  3. Another second or two just means more time to find that checkdown. Hell, maybe being sped up wouldn't give him time to get to the checkdown.
  4. If you're drafting an OL in the top 5 and he ends up playing anything other than LT then that's gotta be a little disappointing IMO.
  5. Sewell making it past the Bengals at #5 would be almost as shocking as the Jags picking anyone other than Lawrence.
  6. Trubisky is FA, so we wouldn't have to trade anything for him.
  7. Minshew reminds me a lot of Jake Delhomme and I say that as a good thing. I wouldn't be opposed to trading for him if the draft doesn't fall our way, but there's no way I'd have him at #1 and be saying absolutely no to Carr. That seems insane to me.
  8. Oof. I didn't realize he'd had a long list of legal issues. Not really sure why that hasn't been mentioned by all the people acting like it's absurd he hasn't been offered a head coaching gig yet. Also, Bieniemy looks like a HW Floyd Mayweather.
  9. I guess all this urgency to find a new QB was worth jumping from +6600 to +5000.
  10. Oh, don't get it twisted. I put 95% of the blame for that situation on Rivera and his idiotic personnel decisions. If he plays Heinicke that full game we lose and we're sitting at #3. But, noooooo... he has to give Jamarcus Haskins a shot.
  11. I mean, he hasn't been hired yet despite him being presumed as one of the top candidates for two hiring cycles now so I'm not sure how you could say it hurts his chances.
  12. Yep. It's what the league has been doing for years now to encourage more offense.
  13. We can save $8M this coming season and $21M the next by making him a post-June 1st cut. Throwing good money after bad is never a good idea. That's what always got Hurney in trouble.
  14. Yeah, don't get me wrong. I don't think the NFL outright fixes games. But I do think they absolutely influence outcomes. There's a big difference between the two.
  15. I just didn't consider the WFT due to them being in the same division. I doubt the Eagles would do it unless they just blew away everyone else's offer.
  16. I think they're absolutely looking to get better at QB... or at the very least healthier which would make a move for Wentz a bit baffling.
  17. Darnold threw for single digits TDs this year and there's a new staff in place. Honestly, them sticking with Darnold would be a lot more surprising than them moving on IMO. I think the falcons stick with Ryan but I wouldn't be shocked if they take this opportunity to secure his successor. Same for the Lions and Goff. All indications are that Wentz is as good as gone. Maybe they decide to give Hurts a legit shot but with Wentz gone I'd say there's a good chance they go QB.
  18. You can make a very good argument for a QB for five of the seven teams in front of us and that's if you buy the Dolphins being sold on Tua. If you don't, then it's six of the seven teams.
  19. I'd love to know the answer to this. Everyone talks about the "big four" QB prospects but our evaluations might have them ranked pretty far apart for all we know.
  20. Once you start openly taking bids he's as good as gone. He knows he's won the staredown at that point. As long as you're trying to hang onto him you've got to put up the front of he isn't available, period.
  21. I'm not so sure about that. Especially if Wentz gets moved. This also assumes that our evaluation of the prospects agrees with a "big four". We don't necessarily know that the Panthers love all four of those prospects.
  22. There will be no shortage of suitors when the time comes. I don't blame the Texans a bit for first exhausting any and all efforts to keep him in Houston first. That's what I'd be doing too.
