  1. I say make an offer right now. We know exactly how Ginn fits into our organization both on the field and in the locker room. Bring him in as a PR and give him a chance to compete at WR. I'd still look to draft another WR. The only change it would make for me is that I probably wouldn't be looking to double dip at WR now.
  2. If we added Ginn, I don't see the need for another vet. Draft me another one in the first three rounds and I'm willing to call the WR corps good to go.
  3. This entire safety class seems like hot garbage. I know everyone wants a 220+ pound safety, but how many guys at that size do it well at the NFL level? Seems like most of them just can't move fast enough. The Sean Taylors, Adrian Wilsons, and Kam Chancellors seem to be few and far between. Most guys that size are playing LB.
  4. We all knew it was coming. Still sucks, but it had to be done.
  5. Last year at this time I would've told you that there was no way we were going into camp with Byron Bell and Nate Chandler penciled in to start at OT. Damned if we didn't. Now I don't know what to think. I sure as hell hope our starting LT isn't currently on the roster, I do know that.
  6. In the measurable drills he didn't wow, but in the on field drills he was worlds above anyone else in his group. He's a plenty good athlete. He tested very similarly to TD across the board and TD is a helluva athlete.
  7. HS doesn't matter one bit. Hell, a ton of future NFL players played QB in HS simply because they were the best athlete available. A lot of HS teams do that. If you don't have a real QB, just put your best athlete back there and let him make plays. Same thing with RB. If you have a future NFL athlete on your HS roster, you want to find a way to get the ball in that kid's hands because it's gonna win you games.
  8. Did he play RB or did he come in just to carry the ball? What I mean by that is that there is a lot more to playing RB in the NFL than just carrying the football. Being able to pass protect is one of the key ones, especially if you have Byron Bell playing LT.
  9. Want. Right now, Fisher and Jaelen Strong are 1a and 1b on my wish list at #25. I'm leaning slightly toward Fisher just because I think a legit LT would be a HUGE difference maker for our team. But, I think Strong is a Dez Bryant clone, so I'd be just fine with that too.
  10. Speaking of DEs, I want Missippi State's Preston Smith some kinda bad. Dave Gettleman is gonna fall in love with this guy. If he's there in the 2nd, we're gonna take him.
  11. Probably so. I've just got "Eric" stuck in my head and can't shake it.
  12. Jake Fisher. I have no clue why I keep calling him Eric.
  13. That too. Certainly wouldn't be the first time Florio sought to stir poo up based on pure personal speculation and absolutely nothing to back it up.
  14. There are always draft day surprises, but I'd be shocked. I think Cooper, White, Parker, and Strong are all first round locks. They're just too good on the field and have the measurables to back up their production to not go in the first.
  15. If that player is a plug and play LT, yeah it is. Horrid is too strong of a word to use, but a starting caliber LT would make a world of difference to our offense. A good running mate opposite KB would as well, but a LT that didn't require help on every passing down would be the biggest difference maker on our roster right now.
  16. Cook's ego very well could play a role, but ultimately he works for Cam and he'll either have to do what Cam wants him to do or take a walk. If Cam wants to be a Panther long-term and is willing to do a huge, but not record breaking deal, then Cook will have to write it up. He'd be a damn fool not to take the commission on a huge, but not record breaking contract due to his ego. Sure, there's ego involved, but ultimately smart business men don't allow their ego to get in the way of doing good business. Cook has done too much in his field to be accused of being dumb. Like Rosenhaus, you don't have to like him and the way he goes about business, but you gotta respect what he gets done.
  17. The only way I want him is if he's by far and away the BPA on our board. If that's the case, then he'll probably be an awesome player and I'll get over it. I was a little salty when we picked Luke #9 overall with Stephon Gilmore (CB), Dontari Poe (DT), and Michael Brockers (DT) still on the board. That one worked out alright for us.
  18. I wouldn't be mad, but I'd rather have Jaelen Strong or Eric Fisher. May be a moot point though. No telling who may or may not still be on the board at #25. All three could be gone or all three could still be there.
  19. Norwell only did 22 reps and he plays very strong. I'll take functional playing strength over weigh room heroes all day everyday. The only time I worry about bench press numbers is if you're questioning a guy's playing strength based on film and then he has weak rep numbers. That combination is a red flag. If he plays strong on film, that's all I need to know.
  20. I also don't understand how anyone can call DGB the best WR coming out of college since Megatron. He isn't a WR right now. He's a WR prospect. The guy has less than 1300 receiving yards in his entire college career. Johnson had nearly 3000 receiving yards while playing in a damn triple option. DGB is one helluva WR prospect, but he isn't polished and he has a ton of question marks. I trust the organization to do their homework on the guy, but there's no way in hell I'd take him at #25. I'd have concerns if we took him in the 2nd and he probably won't be there anyway. He sure as hell won't be there in the 3rd. In other words, I don't want him.
  21. Keep in mind he wasn't the GM for the Giants so he wasn't actually making an of the picks.
  22. If there's an OT on the board at #25 that Gettleman believes is a starting caliber NFL LT, we're taking him. I think you can just about take that to the bank.
  23. This. I trust the organization to do their homework. This guy could be the second coming of Randy Moss or he could be another Josh Gordan. It all comes down to how badly he wants it. If he wants it bad enough, he'll keep his nose clean.
  24. Why do y'all let the piss and vinegar crowd ruin every good thread? Forget them. If they just want to focus on the negatives in life, let 'em do it. Don't let them drag you down or derail threads. Cam is the man and I'm damn glad he's our QB.
