This is all I ask. We need a veteran presence in the WR corps and he'd do that while being an upgrade over Cotchery on the field.
-
This. Right now, we need Cotchery for that veteran presence. Jennings would provide that same type of presence with a significant upgrade on the field.
-
Yes. PLEASE. Sign Jennings, let Cotchery go.

Alan "Blue Balls" Ball leaves Panther offer on table

So Whatever Happened to That DB We Drafted from WV?
LinvilleGorge replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Serious question... is there anything you don't consider "trash"? Seems like 95% of your posts these days involve calling something or multiple things "trash". After listening to Kevin White break down coverages and routes during his visits to the studio of NFLN, I'd definitely disagree with you there. Plus, you can't call a guy with his production a "workout wonder". -

Not necessarily. I hated the Kugzilla pick. I think Gettleman has done a pretty damn good job so far, but I'm not a blind nuthugger. -

But for real, I thought Ike Taylor had legitimately killed him. -

It was a dumb pick. I know that seems obvious in hindsight, but Hurney spent the 1st pick of the 4th round on a CB coming off of a torn ACL with a laundry list of off-field issues. That's the type of guy that almost always goes undrafted. To make matters worse, he spent the pick before that, the last pick of the 3rd round on the legendary Sione Fua. -
That just doesn't make any sense. He's a pretty middle of the road TE. Greg Olsen probably just called his agent and said, "WTF??!!!"

GettleMagic - Son Of A Rich Man.

This may be the dumbest saying I've ever heard. Some of the most worthless people I've ever known were rich spoiled brats. In fact, this saying sounds like something they'd say.- 49 replies

Alan "Blue Balls" Ball leaves Panther offer on table
LinvilleGorge replied to CubsWin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Likely has plenty of agent and other insider contacts and gets word of things and passes them along. In other words, he just does his job and does it well. Panthers fans just aren't used to a beat writer who actually does this. -

I'd prefer to leave Bene as a starter, but kick him inside and let Ball play on the outside when we go nickel which honestly is most of the time anyway. -

Honestly, the guy breaks more Panthers news than anyone else. -

Well, at least Voth is attempting to confirm. Joe Person hasn't even heard the news. -

Read the article I posted. Evidently, when allowed to play press man he's very effective, but it does sound like he sucks at everything else. -

https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/05/23/secret-superstars-2014-jacksonville-jaguars/ Sounds like he's a pure press man CB. -
Ahahahahaha!!!

Todd Gurley to visit with the Panthers
LinvilleGorge replied to TylerVagyler's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like Abdullah, but the fumbles worry me. He reminds me of Gio Bernard. Haven't watched him enough to say whether it's technique related and fixable or whether its his small hands. His hands measured almost a full inch smaller than Bernard's. -

100% of it. It's always a piece of the puzzle. I'd be curious to hear your take on why so many highly drafted USC skill position players have failed to live up to their billing. What causes NFL teams to continue to miss in their evaluations? Or is butthurt fan just butthurt? -

Didn't work out long-term for us, but that's still one helluva 6th round pick. -

butthurt USC fan When a school as produced as many skill position busts over the past 15 or so years as USC has, it's something you have to factor into your evaluation. I don't know what the root cause of it is, but it's real. -

LinvilleGorge replied to TylerVagyler's topic in Carolina Panthers
Did I say that? All I'm saying is that when you're assessing that individual ability, you also have to factor in the surrounding talent. There's an absurd history of USC producing busts at the skill positions. -

You can say the same for USC skill position players. Bust after bust after bust after bust. -

I don't trust them. That Bama OL is always dominant. Any decent RB looks like a monster there.
