  1. The best positive indicator for him was not suiting up vs. the Colts last week. Honestly, I don't really care. Really liked him in the draft and thought he had the potential to be the best TE in the draft class. But he just hasn't developed. I honestly think he was better as a rookie than he's ever been since.
  2. Erving is dinged up? Shocking. Please quit fuging around with this Cam Erving pipedream. He's average when healthy and rarely healthy.
  3. I would've thrown that bitch straight in the garbage immediately after those three consecutive false starts on 3rd down. Welp, that ain't working.
  4. We had him last year. The Pats could've just sent us a 6th for Teddy instead of spending #15 on Jones.
  5. I think it has a lot to do with our cap space situation really opening up next year. If Darnold hits, $19M next year will still be cheap for a legit starting QB. If he flops, we can afford to eat the hit. Calculated gamble. I think the math is bad on the calculation, but we'll see how it works out.
  6. I don't think it was smart, but it's still not a long-term commitment. It was less of a commitment than we made to Teddy.
  7. Nope. Simply responding to a post suggesting we trade next year's 1st and our '23 2nd for an OT. Kinda a statement of reality. We'd be fresh out of trade bait and premium picks to acquire a QB via the draft. I don't think anyone in the Panthers organization is 100% sold on Darnold being the answer. If they were, they'd be trying to ink him a long-term extension right now while his value is low.
  8. My Eagles fan buddy speaks about him about like we did of Greg Little.
  9. I actually wanted Whitworth. But the difference was that he was a FA.
  10. Then if Darnold flops and we watch some other team take a highly rated QB prospect with that pick... oh wee mayne. Fitts and Rhule would truly be all in on Darnold at that point. If Darnold flops, they would have written their own obituary.
  11. A 35 year old OT feels like the definition of a bandaid.
  12. I'd be surprised if the extension talks aren't DJ Moore. Please no bandaid trades. Only make a trade if it's for a player who is in the long-term plans.
  13. I think part of it is that Rhule knows that the WRs have to shine. Like you said, they're a strength of the offense. They can't afford to have off days. We don't have a QB anymore who can carry the entire offense when need be.
  14. All good. Quick round of antibiotics took care of it. Thanks!
  15. I hope he does well but I'm glad we moved on.
  16. Or someone plucks Fitterer from us because he's probably stealable since he doesn't have final roster say
  17. I have a lot more confidence in our WRs than I do in Sam Darnold. They may have had a rough day as a unit, but Moore and Anderson are proven NFL commodities. Marshall is a talented rookie. Smith is a promising rookie. If Darnold doesn't deliver this season, I highly doubt it'll be because of our WR corps.
  18. I like Samuel but I don't think paying your 4th offensive weapon big money is a smart plan. Those are the roster positions that you have to continually churn and keep low cap impact.
  19. Don't let facts get in the way of his politically and emotionally invested (idiotic) opinions.
  20. We out all our QB eggs in the Darnold basket. We'll see how it works out. Let's just say that I'll be paying close attention to the college QB prospects. Hearing about struggles while wearing a red jersey isn't encouraging. Highly doubtful it gets any better once he's getting hit behind a likely below average OL.
  21. As opposed to faith that we will simply improve overnight as if by magic? That's the rational thought process?
  22. Okay. We shall see. I'm sure we're just intentionally sandbagging. They'll never see us coming once the games start counting for real. *evil villain laugh*
