Might want to listen to his North Charleston speech. If he didn't specifically mean that, he certainly implied it - which is a trick he used a lot. He implies a lot of idiotic things to appeal to his idiotic base and then denies them because he only implied them.

Critically questioning things with a degree of skepticism is a good thing. To a point. But when carried to the extreme to where it leads to embracing any anti-establishment viewpoint, that's how you end up believing the Earth is flat and that COVID is a hoax.
-
Yeah, it was the very first thing I saw. I really didn't need to read much deeper, but I did. It just got worse. The study has now been retracted. LOL
-
I really tried this approach for the longest time. Logic and evidence will eventually win, right? Face punching might actually be the way to go.

I'm absolutely not sorry for warning you and then following through with my unheeded warning.

Yeah, masks aren't going to do a great job of filtering aerosolized particles. I think everyone already knew that. The thing is that we're not really generating all that many aerosolized particles in normal everyday life. It's why so many outbreaks have been linked to choirs and churches. Singing and shouting does produce a lot more aerosols. They really cheapened their own paper when they referenced this study: https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M20-1342 I took a quick look. Holy poo, that's a laughable study. First of all, they had a sample size of four. Second of all, in their testing they found no virus detected on the inside of two masks while finding virus on the outside. That screams control issues or even outright data falsification. You mentioned common sense earlier, now use it. Do you really think a mask being worn by an infected person would have no virus detected on the inside of it? Did the virus teleport itself through the mask and then consciously decide to cling to the exterior? There testing was also done at a distance of roughly 8" away. Much closer than any normal social encounter and far closer than the recommended six feet of social distancing which mask wearing does not change. At the end of the day, their entire paper was based on theory and their conclusions of ineffectiveness were based on ineffectiveness from very small aerosolized particles. Not just aerosolized, but very small even for aerosols. Fortunately, in recent weeks we accidentally found a very good real world case https://www.livescience.com/hair-stylists-infected-covid19-face-masks.html Two infected hair stylists cut the hair of 139 people while wearing masks and requiring clients to wear masks. None of those 139 people have tested positive despite spending significant time in very close proximity to an infected person.

You're currently posting. You got a one hour timeout for spamming after being warned to take it to the TB. Cry about it more. Let's see your "REAL info".

I can't do this again today. I'm done with the idiocy. All the data is wrong. All those other countries that have virtually snuffed out COVID evidently just got lucky. We're on the right path despite blowing every other country on Earth out of the water in both case count and deaths. It's just stunning arrogance and ignorance.
-
Nailed it. It's impossible to have a civil intellectually honest debate with someone who ignores facts and data and evidence to insert their own opinions as if they carry the same weight.
-
Dafuq are you even talking about? The post you quoted wasn't directed towards you.
-
No disagreement there. I think it just has a huge normalization and empowering impact when you have a sitting POTUS spewing the anti-intellectual propaganda.
-
Is it really a conspiracy? Are you paying any attention to what is happening? Wait... let me retract that. The answers are pretty obvious.

Trump bet his Presidency on COVID being a hoax or "just disappearing" despite how insanely idiotic those ideas were according to just about every virologist and epidemiologist on the planet. He ignored his own advisors refusing to adhere to simple preventative measures because he thought that would make him look weak which has heavily contributed to the normalization of other citizens doing the same. Out of other options, the only move left is to cook the books and fix the score in order to claim victory.

There is now legit clinical evidence that stupid people don't wear masks. It can no longer be considered a statement of insult since there is actual supporting evidence. https://www.psypost.org/2020/07/study-lower-cognitive-ability-linked-to-non-compliance-with-social-distancing-guidelines-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak-57293

And we had a pretty long discussion about those confusions many pages ago. Fauci was an idiot when he said those things but a lot of them are being taken out of context now as well - which has to absolutely be expected in today's social and political environment. Anything you say can and will be edited and cut and pasted to be used against you.
-
I follow neither. I understand data. It's a huge part of what I do. The data supporting the efficacy of mask wearing is overwhelming. I've lost my patience in being civil about it. We'll watch our healthcare system get overwhelmed this winter and our economy get driven into the next Great Depression if we keep allowing idiots to go around mouth breathing without a mask.

A great case study on why America has had a far different COVID experience than any other developed nation.
-
He just got a warning as well.

If you turn this into a race baiting thread I'm gonna ban your ass. Straight up.

What part of "we've already had this conversation" don't you understand? I guess reading comprehension wasn't exactly your strong suit either. And no, that's not an insult. It's simply an observation. Go back and read if you want to rehash that conversation. I'm tired of being civil with people who are ignorantly or willfully enabling an ongoing pandemic that is going to have devastating impacts on our healthcare system this fall and winter and has already had a devastating impact on our economy that are ongoing.
-
You and your buddy Wes are the two who think you're outsmarting the world's leading virologists and epidemiologists. Y'all probably barely passed HS biology
-
Like I said, we went over this many pages ago. You were part of that conversation. Go back and read.
-
Yeah, we've already gone over Fauci's massive error in judgement of speaking out against masks early on to conserve supply for medical professionals. That was many pages ago.
-
Your "but people touch their face without washing their hands" kinda pretty clearly indicates that you don't understand how masks work.

If you actually care to educate yourself, feel free. But I'm pretty sure you're way too deep down the whataboutism rabbit hole to bother. https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2020/06/417906/still-confused-about-masks-heres-science-behind-how-face-masks-prevent
