  1. Well, I guess we should hope that they hate the Dan Morgan hire. If they love the coach hire and hate the GM hire we might be onto something.
  2. Holy poo, it's 70 damn degrees. I hope this doesn't kickstart the maples into budding. Sap collection is over as soon as they begin budding. There should be a good month left but we should be a good month away from flirting with 70 degree temps too.
  3. Why is anyone surprised? We already know Tepper is gonna fug this up. The entertainment of being a Panthers fan has shifted from rooting to win to just enjoying the poo show for what it is. Let's just sit back and see how badly Tepper can embarrass himself.
  4. Are you aware of the long list of great college players who didn't translate to the NFL? After you get drafted what you accomplished in college is no longer relevant. Ironically enough, I was bringing up these same raw talent questions pre-draft last year. The evidence was all over his college tape.
  5. What traits are there? Exactly what did he show on an NFL field that makes you think that the traits are there at the NFL level? What he did in college no longer matters at all for a Panthers fan. It's completely irrelevant now that we have 16 NFL games to go off of.
  6. Great at what? In the NFL that is. What he was this year was a bad QB who didn't look like he belonged on an NFL field. This ain't college anymore. Lots of great college players fail to translate to the NFL level.
  7. Did Tannehill though? I mean, he had one really good year. Other than that he was pretty much still the same guy. Josh Allen improved more as a pure passer than anyone I've ever seen, but he always had ELITE raw physical talent. Bryce could only dream of the talent level Josh Allen has.
  8. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Unfortunately for us, you can't change a guy's physical talent level and that's where Bryce is lacking most sorely. His arm is always going to be subpar. He's always going to struggle to see down field due to his height. Can cleaning up all the mechanical issues help? Sure, I would think so. Help to the level of making him a legit starter? Eh... I doubt it. Help to the level of making him a legit franchise QB? I'd be shocked.
  9. He declined a second interview here last year. What has changed in the past year to make us a more desirable landing spot? He wasn't coming here.
  10. I'm not upset with the hire. The reality is that this was the best we were ever gonna do. Any candidates with other legit options were gonna choose another option. The state of Tepper's organization leaves us hoping for the equivalent of bailing a mid to late round pick that everyone else has passed on.
  11. Are we supposed to pretend that Ken Dorsey is a great coach because Cam had his best seasons with him as the QB coach? Line I said, I'm hopeful for Canales but it's based more on sheer hope than it is any empirical evidence as would be the case for any one year coordinator. There's just not a lot of data to go off of when he was in a role to have some real control.
  12. I'm hopeful for Canales but far from sold. I honestly don't know if he did a good job or if a talented but very streaky QB just got hot. Baker had 5 300+ yard games this season. 4 of them came after mid-December. Half of his TDs came after mid-December. Was it because Canales did a great job adjusting or did Baker just get on a hot streak? I honestly have no idea.
  13. Hurts still looks terrible on occasion. Great or awful has kinda been the story of his career. When the Eagles looked like the Super Bowl frontrunner in the first half of the season Hurts was playing like an MVP. When they went on their wild skid in the last third of the season he looked like a marginal starter. He just runs really hot or cold.
  14. I don't disagree. The only other decent receiver we had on the roster was Chark and he's just a terrible pairing with Bryce. You don't want a deep threat specialist to pair with one of the weakest arms in the NFL. Square peg, round hole.
  15. It's not Thielen's fault that our other receivers sucked.
  16. If the Bucs are smart they'd tag Baker. Id want to see him put two promising seasons together before sinking major cap space into him.
  17. Focus on guys who can win off the line. You have about a 15 yard window to get open before you're out of Bryce's range.
  18. Hence why I mentioned the Bucs being a below average offense. 18th in scoring, 20th in yardage.
  19. Is he really even a hot shot? The Bucs were a below average offense. But I guess at the end of the day when you have the opportunity to hire the OC who orchestrated a 9-0 three FG barn burner to beat you and secure a playoff berth you just can't pass that up.
  20. Hell, Tepper might actually fire him by week 8.
  21. What? Baker Mayfield has one of the best arms in the league.
  22. Tampa Bay was 18th in scoring and 20th in yardage. So basically a little below average offensively. I honestly have to wonder... did we just hire the guy that we made a HC candidate because we tanked Baker Mayfield so hard last year? Oh the irony. Because Baker basically just bounced back to roughly his Cleveland level of play this year.
  23. Cool. I hope he does great. Honestly that's about all I have to offer on it. We'll see how it goes.
  24. The UNC system Board of Governors is trying to pass a resolution that would force UNC to bring their shitty little brother NCSU along for the ride if they leave the ACC. https://www.wralsportsfan.com/board-of-govenors-moving-toward-new-policy-that-could-prevent-unc-from-leaving-acc/21251314/
