  1. He's just bad. He has talent but he sticks on his first read too long and then just plain panics if he doesn't come open after staring him down for three seconds.

  4. He's trash. This staff puts WAY too much stock into what a guy's draft status was. Statistically, Darnold has probably been the worst QB in the NFL during his short career. Sadly, I was proven correct on both Teddy and Darnold. They are what I thought they were. Teddy is a backup. Darnold isn't NFL roster caliber.

  6. I was done with Rhule as soon as he made that trade. It was clear he learned nothing from the Teddy debacle and went chasing another subpar vet QB because he was scared of developing a rookie.
  7. Somewhat optimistic... and then we traded for Sam Darnold. Much more pessimistic than the rest of this board. I still thought Darnold was likely a flash in the pan and I was trying to tell y'all (with great pushback) that we hadn't beaten anyone yet. .500ish while being competitive week in and week out.
  8. No. I want to fire any head coach who struggles while looking utterly clueless with ample signs that he's losing the locker room and instilling a culture of no accountability. Rhule is checking every box. I would feel completely differently if we were struggling whole showing signs of progress. This is the opposite of that. Everyone on the roster looks like they're regression and schematically we look like a mid-major college team. Hmmm... imagine that.

  11. My point is that if you're bringing him back knowing you're almost certainly parting way with him in a year, then you're just wasting a year of the next rebuild.
  12. And we all hoped Tepper would bring that type of knowledge and system with him. Unfortunately, he thought he was smarter than everyone else and here we are.

  14. So you think Rhule should be given another year with expectations that you admit would be difficult at very best to pull off? Why not just go ahead and fire him now then?

  16. It's all terrifying. Tepper seems every bit as clueless as an owner as Rhule does as a coach.
  17. If Tepper couldn't ascertain that based on Hurney's history then we're completely fuged.
  18. Hurney had hype when Tepper bought the team? Who was hyping Marty Hurney in 2018? Honestly, I just don't think Tepper had the ability to evaluate football people. He let an absolute moron in Hurney sell him on the idea that he was one of the NFL's great drafters () and then he let a college coach from a C level program sell him on his culture and program building abilities. Yikes.
  19. So why wasn't Hurney fired as soon as he bought the team? Surely such a brilliant analytical mind was able to quickly determine that Hurney was a liability.
  20. The fact that Rhule is still trying to sell that his culture is working despite these glaring examples that it obviously isn't tells me that he's run out of actual ideas. He's gonna lean into the same platitudes that got him hired to try to justify why he shouldn't be fired.
  21. Basically the equivalent of a standard middle class person having a nice dinner out. That's Tepper's financial impact of firing Matt Rhule and eating $50M. Or to put in even more relevant terms, attending a Panthers game with decent seats and having a couple of beers in BOA.
  22. I really hope Tepper isn't buying into this bullshit. We're building a culture alright. Unfortunately, it's a culture of losing and zero accountability and pointing fingers. The culture we're building is absolutely toxic.
  23. If Rhule and company are still here then none of this matters. We're fuged as long as they're here.
  24. If we think there's a potential franchise QB available, take him. Period. If you need a QB, that's your biggest need always. If not, then my preference would be the best OL available. If we don't think there's an OL available worth the pick, TRADE DOWN. Not having a 2nd and 3rd round pick this year HURTS. Honestly, if there's no one on the board who we think is a potential franchise QB or a potential franchise LT, I'm heavily entertaining any and all trade offers. My biggest wish though is that Rhule and company are gone. If they aren't, all of this is moot. They'll continue to set this franchise back until fired.
