Sam Darnold vs Baker Mayfield training camp
LinvilleGorge replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly I don't either. He made huge strides in '20 and was saddled with limiting injuries last year. His stats for the 11-5 2020 Browns aren't that far off from Watson's stats when the Texans were competitive. Mayfield: 305/486 (63%) for 3562 yards (7.3 y/a) and 26 TDs vs. 8 INTs Watson: 345/505 (68%) for 4165 yards (8.2 y/a) and 26 TDs vs. 9 INTs 333/495 (67%) for 3852 yards (7.8 y/a) and 26 TDs vs. 12 INTs Honestly, if Mayfield bounces back the Browns are going to really regret this flirtation with Watson that looks to have Mayfield filing for divorce. -
Sam Darnold vs Baker Mayfield training camp

That wouldn't be a competition. I get it, you can't be excited for Mayfield after over a year of hoping for Watson but Mayfield is leaps and bounds better than Darnold. But if you're entertaining trading for and potentially extending Mayfield, you should really just draft Sam Howell. -
Maybe take a break from thinking.
-
As it should be. I have to imagine our paths forward diverge quite a bit whether or not we have Deshaun Watson. At least they should. With this clown show though, who really knows?
-
I don't see much to disagree with.
-
That's fair but I'd rather draft Howell on a rookie contract than move on Mayfield.
-
He has virtually the same physical measurements as Drew Brees too. Would you consider him comparable to Brees? Using physical measurements alone to draw a comparison is laughable. They aren't comparable players.
-
There's a better version of Mayfield in this draft and it ain't Willis. Willis and Mayfield aren't really comparable at all.
-
Good grief. Mayfield probably isn't the answer but he's way better than Darnold.
-
Bruh... you have made dozens and dozens and dozens of accounts and gotten banned over and over and over again.
-
Trading for Baker would be dumb when there's a better more level headed version of Baker in the draft.
-
In 7 playoff appearances Jimmy G has averaged 137 passing yards per game and thrown only 4 TDs vs. 6 INTs. Jimmy G sucks, he's just had the good fortune of sucking for some good overall teams.
-
Good grief. That deal if true...
-
Yeah, we've been dealing with them a long time. They know we're an organization of morons. Those are gonna be some NICE picks.
-
The writing has been on the wall for awhile now that he's a bust.

Browns will release Tretter.... to make room for Watson's contract. Panthers fans: -

So they plan on losing? -
We might be willing to trade him to get a franchise QB. Other than that, I fully expect him to be here and be re-signed.

Every indication I've seen is that Burns is absolutely in our long-term plans. Trading for Watson doesn't do anything for LT.
