Nickel has become everyone's base D in the modern NFL. Standard nickel is a 4-2-5 alignment but you can also run it as a 3-3-5 stack. The Vikings and Patriots jump to mind as teams that run a lot of 3-3-5.

Yeah, that seemed very fake. The only fan meltdowns I found entertaining was that Eagles fan dude and he ended up being a fuging pedo.

some good news. Greg will call our game Sunday

I honestly think he's the best announcer in the game. Maybe there's some homerism to that take but I definitely enjoy his analysis. -
Panthers fans at each other's throats over dumb poo. Yeah, the Tepper era strikes again indeed. LOL

Jealous of what? I have no issues with Roaring Riot. It's cool what they do and I'm glad people enjoy it. But when mountains get made out of mole hills it seems cringey to me. This isn't exactly the first time. That's all. Maybe if I put in the work they did and felt slighted if feel the same way. Mocking someone for posting on a message board while posting on a message board never ceases to entertain me.

Just curious, but how many of those nine other teams have QBs on rookie contracts? That we're top 10 in offensive spending with a QB on a rookie contract is pretty impressive. We're spending a fortune on the OL because we saw that Bryce really struggled under pressure. We spent cap space on OL and we spent high draft picks on receivers. You can't have top paid players everywhere.

I appreciate your concern, but I'm fine. LOL This white knight act is pretty cringe too.

Cringe is cringe. It is what it is.

Baker Mayfield fits Canales' offense. Canales wants to take shots. He needs a big armed QB with the guts and the ability to take the shots. If we're taking those shots it opens up opportunities for a guy like Renfrow or Horn to work underneath. The NFL passing game has evolved more and more toward the short passing game focused on getting the ball out fast but you need the threat of the deep ball to open up those opportunities. When everything is short and there's no threat vertically the defense can just choke you to death. That's why redzone offense is a lot more difficult. There's just less field for the defense to have to defend. When your offense has no credible vertical threat the entire field basically becomes redzone offense. And everyone tends to act like arm strength only comes into play when throwing the ball downfield but it also comes into play squeezing the ball into the tighter windows in the redzone. Sometimes you just gotta fire that fast ball in there and Bryce just doesn't have a fast ball. It puts a lot of pressure on the coaches to scheme guys open.

Seems that I remember some people saying Devin Lloyd was trash

Yeah, a guy suddenly balling out in a contract year only to revert back to his career norm after getting paid is a tale as old as sports contracts. -
A wild statement for a guy who won an MVP with Ted Ginn Jr. as his #1 WR. I mean, just listen to Greg Olsen. Greg very openly gives Cam a TON of credit for how his career played out.

Bryce's arm strength is absolutely subpar at the NFL level. How many current NFL QBs can you honestly name with a weaker arm? When I hear "good" I'm thinking at least above average. That's absolutely not the case. Honestly, the rosiest argument for Bryce's arm strength at the NFL level is arguing that it's manageable. It's always going to be a limiting factor of his game. I encourage people to watch other games. It's hard to watch the opposing team objectively so turn on a game where you have no rooting interest and just watch throws being made that Bryce either can't reliably make or flat out can't even attempt.

You clearly seem unbothered. LOL

I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. If you drop back like that in the NFL on a regular basis you're basically on your own. Your OL can't do a whole lot for you. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of generating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.

cam Newton makes his return to Madden football

Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
