Yeah, Lopez ain't it. What else do we have over there on the bench? Let's see somebody else.
-
Yeah, I agree with letting it play out like that. Make them scramble to get out there and get setup. Now once they were able to accomplish that comfortably and we're able to settle in I might've called a timeout at that point. But whatever. The kid nailed his career long as time expired. Sometimes football just goes like that.

Gio Lopez is fuging atrocious. Why in the hell did Belichick and company give this guy $2M? He's not a D1 starter. He was at South Alabama for a reason. It's not like he was putting up big numbers there. He was a JAG at that level.
-
Boom. Walk off 55 yarder for GT right down the middle. I think both Clemson and GT are likely low level top 25 teams but at 1-2 and struggling for much of their win over Troy you gotta drop Clemson from the rankings for now.
-
I really like them playing the audio of the replay refs walking through the play and the reasoning for their decision.

Pretty sure this TD is getting overturned.

I don't think Haynes King is an NFL QB but damn if I wouldn't take him in a heartbeat for my college team.
-
Yeah, when you have Phil Knight desperately wanting to see an Oregon national title before he dies and he's 87 years old and worth $35B, yeah you're sitting pretty. Won't surprise me if they get a massive sum of money in the will either.
-
I see Quinn Ewers. He's a decent college QB but probably not someone who should be starting for a blue blood program and I'm definitely not seeing someone who projects as an NFL starter.
-
Sure looks like it. Their D in particular looks like trash to supposedly have two top 5 picks on the DL. They're on pace to give up 500 yards to GT.

Be careful, the copperheads are out big time

The only real concern I have with copperheads is stepping on one. Those things are practically invisible laying in lead litter. -
Dude went from getting 1st round talk to talking about getting benched.

Colorado is indeed terrible. Houston handled them with ease despite losing three starting offensive linemen tonight.
-
I have never seen that. Houston QB just got nearly decapitated with a blatant facemask and they called offsetting penalties flagging him for illegal grounding. What??? The guy was trying to throw a ball while it looked like his head was about to be ripped off, yeah the throw is gonna be a little off. LOL
-
Generally speaking, no. They're 2-0 but they've only played Rice and Stephen A. Austin. Colorado did break a big run up the middle to score so it's only 13-7 now. They're 1-1 losing to Georgia Tech and beating Delaware.
-
Colorado looks terrible. Their defense looks somewhat improved, but basically from absolutely dreadful to just run of the mill bad meanwhile they can't even get a first down on offense.
-
I'm simply talking about the overall expenditure of resources on offense vs. defense which is the subject of the thread. We have a LOT more resources both in terms of cap space and in draft capital spent on offense vs. defense.
-
Yeah, you can clearly build a good NFL defense with either scheme as the foundation. I personally prefer the 4-3 simply because I'm much more familiar with 4-3 concepts. Both schemes offer advantages and disadvantages. I feel like the main reason the 3-4 became prevalent is that 3-4 OLBs are easier to find than 4-3 DEs. Finding an elite 4-3 DE with the size to put his hand in the dirt every down and the bend to get around the edge is tough. It's easier to find a smaller guy who can stand up and covert speed to power. But then the 3-4 forces you to find an absolute unicorn in the form of the 3-4 NT who can hold up to constant double teams. Without a stud at NT you're really fighting an uphill battle.

I think Igo put a minimum post count on the TB to avoid trolls. Not sure what it is though.

To be fair, we are playing complimentary football. Both sides are trash and carrying us straight to the bottom.
-
Are you kidding me? Two huge money OGs, the highest paid OT in football, a top 10 pick at LT, a top 10 pick at WR, another 1st round WR, a highly paid RB, an offensive minded head coach. We've done everything we could to put Bryce in a position to succeed and that has left us strapped for resources on defense. I think that's the point of this thread and it's honestly probably a fair point. And I should add that I'm not complaining about spending all those resources trying to surround Bryce with talent on offense. When you make the move we did to get Bryce you're all in. It would be dumb NOT to do everything you can at that point to make sure your investment pans out, unfortunately we dumped all our money into a meme coin that went belly up.

The thread was locked because it's Tinderbox material and a link was provided to the thread in the TB.
