Bryce just tried to throw a pick but an absolute circus one handed catch saves him. -

It's on NFL coaches to develop NFL talent. College coaches are trying to win college games. That NFL coaches are failing to properly develop NFL talent is on them.
-
Absolutely. Shula basically relied on Cam's extremely unique physical tools to carry his offense. The entire passing game revolved around Cam making the lowest percentage of NFL throws (downfield passes to covered receivers) on most attempts. Cam running Norv's offense with the read option and RPOs added to it would've been ideal.
-
The modern NFL offense more closely resembles a 2010 college offense than it does a 2010 NFL offense. The college game has been driving the innovation in the sport for the past couple decades.
-
Opposing defenses would've had full off-season too though. Given Cam's skill set coming in I honestly think that situation may have helped him. NFL defenses of that era just were not dialed in to defend the read option and RPOs. Nobody ran that stuff in the NFL.
-
I wanted Cam but it was only because of the relatively new rookie wage scale. I would've been much more apprehensive projecting him to the NFL without that cap space protection back in the days when you were paying top picks like surefire HOFers right out of the gate. With the rookie wage scale I thought he was the obvious pick given his massive upside. Mobile QBs no longer have as much stigma around them and Cam was a big part of changing that.
-
The hit rate on 1st round QBs is just too small to go all in on anyone. Projecting players to the NFL is hard. Projecting QBs to the NFL is like playing pin the tail on the donkey.

might have something to do with this

Caleb Williams looking like a bust takes some of the sting off our colossally idiotic trade. Not much, but some.

Nijman going from starter to not getting a jersey is just confirmation that once again the Huddle would've made a better football decision than the Panthers. If we'd made a poll it would've probably been 90%+ for Christensen to start at LT in Icky's place. -
Clearly better than any QB on our roster.
-
Trevor Lawrence is ass. He should honestly have 4 INTs at half.
-
Put an actual NFL starting caliber QB on this team and our offense looks a lot different.
-
Lawrence just attempted a pass when he was at least five yards past the LOS. LOL The ref made sure to emphasize that the QB was COMPLETELY past the LOS when he attempted a forward pass.
-
Burrow is pretty damn durable if you actually watch him play. Dude takes an unholy beating just about every week.
-
Mac Jones is fuging awful and he was another one of those guys that it was evident in college in terms sof his NFL projection. When people act like Bryce would be good if he had NFL size I just point to Mac Jones. If you don't have an NFL arm I don't care how big you are you're cooked.
-
How bad did the Burrow injury look? I flipped over to it but after the replays had been played evidently.
-
He has the talent. He just went to possibly the worst situation in the league.
-
They're giving him the Cam Newton treatment and shortening his career by not putting an OL in front of him.
-
I really thought the Bengals were in a situation where they HAD to let Higgins walk or do a tag and trade deal. Their OL and defense is fuging trash. They couldn't afford massive contracts at QB and both outside WR spots.
-
It's also worth noting that the Bengals sucking ass for the first 5-6 games is an annual tradition.
