  1. All I'm saying is that Tepper has fuged over people before and he'll do it again when it benefits him. I'm not going to cry over the same happening to him this time. If the shoe was on the other foot you'd be defending Tepper saying "it's just business".
  2. Just as the representatives of Rock Hill should be obligated to operating in the best interests of their constituents. Our elected officials rarely do it, but they should. Giving a multi-billionaire hundreds of millions for his new play toy... meh.
  3. I dislike dishonorable people. David Tepper is dishonorable. His honor goes as far as what is in his best interests. He's in a deal up until that point and not a moment longer. He's just on the other end of such a deal this time. I'm not feeling any sorrow for him.
  4. Tell all the folks laid off by Delphi about how honorable David Tepper is with his business agreements.
  5. He has only lived up to his end of the bargain because it's in his best interests. He's proven in the past that he'll fug people over in a heartbeat as soon as he thinks going through with a deal isn't in his best interests. Don't try to make this piece of poo out to be some type of honorable person. He's not.
  6. It's been shown by deep dive economic analyses that flashy new stadiums provide terrible ROI for municipalities. I hope they tell Tepper to pound sand.
  7. If they think they can make more money and get bigger influence they won't let Jerry Jones stand in their way. Hell, he's 79 years old anyway. He's unlikely to be around to be in their way for much longer either way.
  8. Football just doesn't seem like something Musk would have much if any interest in. He's no saint, but his eyes are on much bigger and more influential matters than trivial football.
  9. Sure. They're pieces of poo too. Doesn't mean Tepper isn't. Delphi was the 13th largest bankruptcy in American history at that point. It cost tens of thousands of jobs but all those people and their families were all just pawns in Tepper's financial chess game.
  10. If Elon Musk wanted in he could buy Jerry Jones with the loose change in his couch.
  11. In large part because we keep investing in awful QBs from the NFL's rubbish bin and we don't have the type of football organization to attract decent vets with other options. This is a mess of their own doing.
  12. Delphi knows something about this. “Two years ago, Tepper headed up a consortium that agreed to help auto manufacturer Delphi exit from Chapter 11 protection—only to pull out at the last minute after the credit markets seized up, stymieing the company’s ability to get financing. A bitter battle ensued. Delphi filed a lawsuit against Appaloosa, alleging, among other things, that Tepper “pushed, with the grace and diplomacy of a battering ram, to play a central role in the reorganization” of the company, only to turn tail and “manufacture an excuse” once they lost interest.”
  13. You and me both. I would've told him "15% of Rock Hill's population falls below the defined poverty line and you, a billionaire more than a dozen times over wants hundreds of millions in handouts? You sir can go fug yourself." To put this in perspective, David Tepper a multi-billionaire is essentially asking Rock Hill for $21k per impoverished resident. This poo should be fuging criminal but it's business as usual for the elite.
  14. It's what billionaires do. This is our new version of "capitalism". In reality, it's just socialism for the very wealthy.
  15. Starting over? You mean like gutting your fanbase with unpopular moves, trying to fleece a bedroom city out of money for a new team headquarters, and posturing that you plan to do the same to your home city for a new stadium at the earliest possible opportunity? Sure looks like Tepper has already crossed the "starting over" bridge.
  16. It's a good investment because with my repaired car I'll be able to contribute to the economy and that will end up making things better for everyone so you see, it's really in everyone's best interest to give me this money that I totally don't need so that I can further increase my wealth... uh, I mean "contribute to the economy".
  17. I was simply responding to the statement that Charlotte is a top 10 media market.
  18. The Charlotte media market is #22 in the U.S. There's a reason why the team is called labeled "Carolina" and not "Charlotte" and why the the pushes the whole two states thing so hard. The Charlotte market isn't big enough to carry a team. You need the broader region.
  19. Does he need help packing? I could probably find a couple free days to lend a hand.
  20. This is the about the most pathetic poo talking I've ever seen attempted. This is like watching a guy still trying to talk poo to someone who just thoroughly whipped his ass twice in public. No one even takes it seriously and they're kinda hoping the other guy feels sorry enough for him not to whip his ass a third time because the last two were so brutal to watch.
  21. Honestly, I'm close to he point with Tepper that I'd prefer he just take the team and be gone. Give the Carolinas an opportunity for a fresh start.
  22. He is really shaping up to be an unmitigated disaster as an owner.
  23. Yeah, that SUCKED. But honestly, as the time passes I remember the thrill of that Paige double pump three to tie it more than the agony of the sting of the loss.
  24. Imagine being tone-deaf enough to attempt to talk poo as a duke fan right now.
  25. Now I'm hoping for a repeat of '17 next year. Team came up just short in the championship game the prior season and used that to fuel a championship run determined to cut down the final nets this time.
