  1. Not gonna happen. An OL isn't gonna win that award, period. An OL on a bad team sure as hell isn't going to win it. He looks like a core piece of this team's future. That's awesome. But he nor any other OL is gonna win OROY.
  2. Not sure I'd call shot in the dark early December mock drafts "linking" him to us. I mean, we don't even know what our organization is going to look like come draft day. I don't think anyone can honestly draw any sort of conclusions about what our draft board might eventually look like.
  3. I guess you missed the deep out off of play action into tight coverage maybe 20% of the way in.
  4. I'm gonna start banning folks for making more Baker threads. Seriously.
  5. Yeah, there were terrible. Curious to see next year if they play better elsewhere. I'm just not seeing much evidence our secondary kids are getting coached up. The worst I've ever seen though was the Tre Boston years. I couldn't tell if he was part of the problem or if he was just having to cover for everyone else's mistakes. In hindsight, the answer to both questions was "yes".
  6. For sure. I won't be surprised to see the Giants all over Richardson. Daboll is the guy who developed Josh Allen.
  7. I've been on the record of saying I love Richardson's talent and potential. With that said, we'd be an awful landing spot for him. The Cam comparisons would come hot and heavy along with those types of expectations. He'd be much better off getting drafted by somebody like the Vikings or the Lions where he could sit and learn behind a decent vet for a year or two without the comparisons to a physically similar former NFL MVP hanging over his head. Cam is his ceiling but let's be honest, Akili Smith is his floor. He's boom or bust. His game is either gonna translate and he's gonna be a stud or it won't and he'll be a total bust. I can't see anything in between. For the record, I said the exact same thing about Cam Newton.
  8. I don't have a jersey from anyone currently on the team. The last jersey I bought was a Luke jersey. I have Cam in all three colors, Luke, Jake in black and white, Smitty in blue and white, and Peppers in all three colors.
  9. Pretty much the entire UNC secondary is entering the portal. I'm serious to see how they play elsewhere. None of them lived up to their recruiting billing. I seriously think Dre Bly should be replaced as the DB coach. Keep him on the staff in some way, even if it's as a dedicated recruiter but the DBs just did not play well and showed no development under him and I don't blame them for bailing.
  10. This dude is gutter trash saved at UNC by having two elite QBs. His red zone plays calling makes Mike Shula look like Andy Reid.
  11. Damn y'all. We don't need a new Baker Mayfield thread everyday. Pick one of the multiple ones that already exist.
  12. The difference is that Cam and DJ had/have the ability. Sam Darnold doesn't. He has the physical tools but he's not a QB between the ears. He doesn't see the field like a QB. He doesn't process the information quick enough. He can't revert to instinct and get out of his thinking mind. I don't think it can be taught. You either have it or you don't. He doesn't. He has done a great job of maximizing what he had to work with and translating that to wealth. Good for him. I ain't mad at him. But I don't feel sorry for him either.
  13. Imagine having Sam Darnold's bank account. I'd manage.
  14. He's a bad QB but I have zero issues with Sam Darnold the person and wish him nothing but the best.
  15. The Mannings already blocked Eli from going to the Chargers because they were such a dumpster fire of an organization. Doesn't bode well for the Panthers.
  16. He's the same age as the typical 2nd or 3rd year rookie right now. If he was the real deal he's be lighting it up in college. Guys like Trask and Pickett don't have near the talent and put up video game numbers because they were literal men amongst boys. Levis still put up JAG stats in that same situation.
  17. My concern with Levis is age. Basically a pure measurables, raw tools, potential guy who will be 24 before he ever puts on an NFL jersey? Richardson has higher potential and he's three years younger. Just not sure a 24 year old is gonna make a huge developmental jump.
  18. https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/181043-derrick-brown-named-2022-walter-payton-nfl-man-of-the-year-nominee/
  19. There are already three other threads to choose from.
  20. If the choice is between Will Levis or Anthony Richardson, I'm rolling the dice on Richardson all day everyday.
  21. Oh trust me, I get it. I just look at all the best young QBs in the league currently and they all had significant question marks and only Burrow was the #1 overall pick. Burrow was a one year wonder playing with elite receivers. Herbert came from a one read offense that didn't translate to the NFL. Allen couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Mahomes came from a gimmicky system that grossly inflates passing stats. I think a lot of times teams get caught in the trap of drafting the guy they think will be the best rookie instead of the guy who they think can ultimately develop into the best QB. There's no way guys like Kenny Pickett and Mac Jones should've ever sniffed the first round, but they were viewed as the most "NFL ready". That's all well and good to be "NFL ready" but it doesn't matter if you don't have NFL tools.
  22. Josh Allen had 1800 passing yards in his final college season before going #7 overall.
  23. I wouldn't write off Love just yet. He's been sitting behind a future HOFer and he's basically the same age as Will Levis.
