Honestly not very familiar with the player but those highlights shown on NFLN showed no burst and get off speed at all. He comes off the line like a fat kid on his third trip to the buffet line. He ran a nice 40 but he must be a guy who builds speed because his first step is awful if those highlights and representative.

Oh yikes. A developmental pick that's already 25 with a trade up? Hope it works out but not a good pick on paper.

A lot of folks are probably surprised to see Josh Downs still available but I'm not. He's a terrific NFL slot prospect but he's a slot only guy at the NFL level and those guys generally max out at mid-2nd round value and it's not uncommon at all to see the best slot prospect come off the board in the 3rd. Factor in the durability concerns and I would've honestly been surprised to see him drafted by now.

There was some BS QB rumors leading up to the draft. Stroud falling? Goes #2. Levis going high? Falls to the 2nd. Hooker climbing potentially going on the 1st? Still on the board at #51.

I'm fine with the pick. Honestly I wasn't that high on the kid but it was obvious the Panthers' organization was with him being a top 30 pre-draft visit. We made a big trade up to #1 to draft a QB and our offensive skill positions are lacking. Build around this kid.

It's why I'm glad we went offense. We have some key young guys to build around on D. We traded away both of the young offensive skill position players we had to build around. Build around your QB. There are good stopgap defenders available.

That's the risk you take being in the green room. We saw it with Aaron Rodgers. We saw it with Lamar Jackson. Blame the Colts.
