If it's as a bridge to a rookie I'm fine with it. Just don't get too excited. We're not learning anything here. Darnold has always thrown a beautiful ball when he gets good protection and his first read is there. That's always been the case. Things fall apart when he has to go through his progression. That's the part of his game that is probably unfixable. He just doesn't see the field like a QB.

We're probably re-signing him. It would be peak Panthers.

The Lions' D is parting like the Red Sea and when they have the opportunity to make a hit they're pulling up and shying away from contact. The offense was clearly challenged by the staff to man up after that Steelers game and they have, but their efforts are being GREATLY helped by an absolutely putrid display of effort and toughness from the Lions'D. This is about as pathetic of a defensive performance as I've ever seen at the NFL level. This is worse than us vs. the Bengals earlier this season. They're just getting pushed around like blocking sleds.

I don't know if the Lions are embarrassed with the first half effort but they should be. Their effort level on D has been pathetic.

The Lions are playing soft today. They are noticeably shying away from contact.

Cam and Jake were both gamers who always looked better on Sundays than they did in practice or preseason. Hell, Jake usually looked like a rookie UDFA who wouldn't make it past first cuts in camp.

Good on you for hooking up a fellow Panthers fan. With that said, you'd have to pay me good money to go to this game. Hopefully someone will bundle up and take them.

It's amazing to me how Panthers fans try to talk themselves out of taking a QB every year and then inevitably bitch about our sorry QB play every year. Look at the top young QBs in the league. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert... they're all high 1st rounders. What decently proven good young QB isn't? Yeah, it's a crapshoot but it's your best bad bet.

Oh, for sure. But the same was true for Lawrence. The same is true for every QB coming out of a top tier program.
