  1. This. Look at what the Niners gave up to get up to #3 for a QB. #1 and #2 honestly we're probably practically untouchable.
  2. Yeah, I guess I'm not going to laud someone for showing up to work to rake in $19M for sucking. I mean, what would you do? Quit?
  3. He'll do anything if it means making $19M which is probably $18M more than he could make anywhere else.
  4. Oh, they're getting one this year. If Rhule wins it'll be another cast off vet. If Fitts wins it'll be a draft pick. It ain't gonna be Darnold. No one in the building can afford to risk that.
  5. I don't think this fanbase has another year in them. Trade down of possible. Then take one of Willis, Howell, or Corral. My preference is Howell but I can get talked into one of the others. This fanbase desperately needs some hope. Whether you like the pick or not, a rookie QB at least provides some intrigue and potential hope. Go ahead and fix the OL. Great. Now you win just enough games to put yourself out of reach of the QBs who might excite you next year. Like Fitterer said, at some point you have to take a swing and you have to keep swinging until you get a hit. It's time to start swinging. Hell, it was time to start swinging last year.
  6. Don't worry. There's surely to be a generational type talent on the board for us next year. It's always next year. THAT'S the year.
  7. I would've also thought NFL fans would've learned by now to stop talking about the draft and draft prospects in absolutes. Five years fe now the narrative could easily turn into how underrated this QB class was and how overrated the OT and edge rushers class was. We didn't pick a year to be shitty. We've been shitty for three years straight. This is our new norm. Welcome to the new Cleveland Browns.
  8. Yep. The only way you can take this route is if you're willing to do anything to trade up to #1 overall to get your guy. It's amazing how nearly this entire fanbase has developed a laissez faire attitude toward the ease of positioning oneself to draft a QB in the future. As if that will just work out perfectly. The prospect you want will be guaranteed to be on the board. That's just wildly incorrect. Even if you're sitting at #6 overall, in lost draft classes that prospect you really want isn't gonna be there at that spot. If you want YOUR GUY, you better be sitting at #1 overall.
  9. One could legitimately argue that getting out of Carolina would be a big step forward for an NFL player.
  10. Now put yourself in Rhule's (and possibly Fitterer's) situation. Still feel that way? That's why Rhule (and possibly Fitterer) should've been fired.
  11. Robby couldn't contain a football either. He was low key as sorry as Darnold.
  12. Brady's offense was figured out because Darnold is extremely mentally limited. It never got figured out with Teddy. Teddy just couldn't put it in the endzone. I don't think Brady was perfect my any means, but I'd bet on him having a better future in football than anyone currently on this staff.
  13. I think you could've stopped there. You're right. He never had "it". He's just not a QB. He's a talented thrower of the football. He had plenty of time behind a good OL at USC and the turnover issues were still present.
  14. Oddly enough, he looked the worst last year when he actually had time. He's at his best when his first read is open or immediate pressure forces him to immediately hit his check down option. When he has time to actually survey the field he usually makes a bad decision. When he has time then gets pressured late when holding the ball too long... oh lord. That's when classic Darnold disasters happen. He's just not a QB. No OL is going to magically turn him into a QB. Y'all just gotta accept that.
  15. He's gotta understand how extraordinarily rare that situation is. The only reason they got Wilson in the 3rd is because he was sub-6' and that's nowhere near the knock now that it was back then.
  16. I think he wants to trade down and draft a QB later. I hope they don't "compromise" and take Pickett #6.
  17. Fitterer is gonna be pushing QB too. I think Rhule will be pushing for another cast off vet while Fitts will be pushing for a rookie via the draft. We'll see who wins out.
  18. Nothing. That's why they know Sam Darnold ain't gonna do it.
  19. If he plays well and becomes the answer them that solves a lot of huge problems. You're better off betting on getting rich off scratch off lottery tickets than betting on that one though.
  20. It's not gonna happen. These guys are desperately trying to save their jobs and they know damn well that Sam Darnold ain't gonna do it.
  21. Refreshing to see someone acknowledge that Howell is a top talent and just played for a bad team this year.
  22. On the flip side, trying to convince yourself that Jimmy G is the option like you almost certainly did with Teddy and Sam Darnold previously is Huddle logic at it's worst.
  23. Yes. He's not a single high FS and that's where he struggled last year.
  24. And there's the problem. Wages have barely moved yet housing costs have skyrocketed. They're trying to turn us into a nation of renters. It's been that way in the urban market for decades but now it's spreading to the suburban markets and even starting to show up in rural markets.
