  1. Good IMO. Young should be good to go and they will be able to minimally prepare to face him in our offense.
  2. Wouldn't shock me a bit if Corral is released. It was rumored leading up to the draft that we were trying to trade him for literally anything.
  3. Oh, y'all been bitching about all those illegal hits? How about the exact same thing again! fugers.
  4. Good for you. My wife just got us a membership over at Phifer so now I have no excuses. The combo of the pandemic and moving back to the south has been brutal for me. I've put on about 30 pounds on the past three years. I'm 40 now and it just happens a lot easier than it used to and away from CO I don't have constant snowboarding to both remind me when I'm getting out of shape and motivate me to be in shape. I really need to get back into mountain biking. The snowboarding in western NC is trash but the mountain biking is legit. I just need actual motivation to stay in shape and I haven't had it the past couple of years. I've been fly fishing too damn much. I love fly fishing but as long as you're in shape to hike a couple of miles that's really all it takes.
  5. It seems like a significant miss by the NFL to have the #1 overall pick QB on the road week one. Give the fans what they want. We've been desperate for a QB for years. Let us see our guy at home to start his career. I mean, damn. If I'm the NFL anytime there's a #1 pick QB who is expected to start right out of the gate I'm having that team open at home. That fanbase has been suffering. Throw a dog a bone.
  6. As they should be. You have a young QB with some talent and aren't expected to do anything. Use this season to test drive him. If he shows promise, great. If he doesn't, you're gonna have a really high pick to shop for another one. I wasn't very high on Ridder as a prospect but given their overall situation playing Ridder is absolutely the right call. Heinicke is a good backup. But you're not going anywhere with him as a starter so why bother?
  7. Would you two idiots stop arguing over semantics and fuging up the thread already?
  8. I fully understood what you were saying, you were just playing semantics. I don't care about the definition of "assault weapon" or preserving the legality of weapons that fit that definition.
  9. The dogs are calming down enough I've been able to start introducing the kitty to them. They've never shown any aggression toward it but early on they were just too excited around it. It's getting normalized now.
  10. Yeah, I would too rather than just tossing him away for a late rounder. You gotta have just completely given up on a guy to do that.
  11. What could we reasonably expect to get in return for YGM?
  12. I've always had great experiences with the Animal Services folks. Always super gracious when I've dropped off donations. I only donated to Friends for Animals twice. Just the complete opposite experience. You walk in with literally hundreds of dollars worth of stuff to give them and they barely look up from their phones. Yeah, just put it over there in the corner. Thanks. Okay, maybe that was a one off. Second time, same thing. That's cool. All my donations go to Animal Services now.
  13. Yeah, people forget but Mahomes really wasn't considered all that hot of a prospect coming out of college. Intriguing talent but the Texas Tech air raid offense kinda scared folks. Those types of offenses just hadn't been producing successful NFL QBs historically.
  14. I mean, if you're an NFL WR, you're fast. Some are faster than other obviously but they're all fast. I remember the first Panthers game I went to live. It was in the '02-'03 season vs. Philly (the John Kasay nightmare game). We we had upper deck endzone seats. Moose broke open deep in a busted coverage running directly away from us. Jake rocked back and let one rip. When the ball was halfway there I was devasted. Oh god Jake, you've overthrown him by a mile! Wrong. Moose had to damn near come to a full stop waiting for the ball to get there and as we all know Moose wasn't exactly a speedster. That's when I realized just how different these dudes are compared to normal people.
  15. Friends for Animals or animal services? They're right next door to each other. Either way, yeah young puppies tend to get adopted out very successfully. It's adults, especially senior adults that really struggle with adoption. Everyone wants a puppy.
  16. I honestly think a lot of this talk is just people echoing what they've heard other people say or write. Folks are gonna say "yeah, but that's college!" and I'll remind those folks that those games took place on the planet Earth so the physics of ball flight didn't change.
  17. Decent vet backup and hasn't Ickey talked about what a great mentor he's been? Seems like a good move to bring him back and keep working on what we're doing to build this OL.
  18. Deon Grant is definitely the best FS we've ever had, sad as that is. He was decent but by no means great. We've just never put much value in the position generally fielding two SS types. I'm finding a spot on that roster somewhere for Beason. Moton has to be there too. Hopefully after another year or too Ickey will be too. It's not like we have an illustrious history at OT.
  19. He seems very similar to Shenault as a prospect.
  20. I would but I already have two big dogs myself and now I have this kitten... along with a chinchilla, three fish tanks, two horses, two mini horses, a goat... yeah, I'm full up.
  21. I can't see that happening. Just reading between the lines on comments from the front office and staff I think we're about to give up on Shi but we see potential with Shenault. I definitely think Thielen and TMJ will be our top two WRs week one with Shenault and Mingo rounding out the top four. We'll see how it plays out over the course of the season. Thielen has additional value for us because he can play in the slot or outside.
  22. Yeah, considering our WR room I'm okay with maybe overpaying a solid vet. Our rookie QB needs help and our young WRs could benefit from a good vet mentor. It might be overpaying from the eyes of another team but viewed through our eyes it (or a similar move) was an absolute necessity. It's not like it's a cap crippling move in the grand scheme of things. It's a bridge move and we desperately needed a WR bridge after being forced to trade DJ to get our QB.
  23. Austin just isn't an NFL talent. He has good hands and he's fundamentally sound he's just not going to be able to get any separation at the NFL level.
  24. Proehl is stereotypical slot receiver type. He's very fundamentally sound but he's undersized (even for a slot) and honestly just doesn't have NFL caliber talent IMO.
