  1. I honestly think it was just the NFL getting film on him in this offense. Once they got the limited offense dialed in and could take away his first read, Sam was cooked. People are knocking Brady and he got scapegoated but our offense changed dramatically going from Teddy to Sam. Teddy was limited in his ability to physically deliver but Sam was limited on his ability to mentally process. The latter proved even more limiting to the overall offense than the former. We were basically running a high school offense last year because it's all Sam could grasp.
  2. My premise is that Sam sucks. The rest is just fodder.
  3. What did Sam average after his first four games and the NFL got some tape on him in our offense? His stats are significantly skewed by his first four games that were pretty good.
  4. Just don't think the SLC metro area is big enough to support and NFL team and once you get outside of the metro area, the population gets very sparse very quickly. Same thing for OKC. Not to mention that the Cowboys are extremely well rooted in OKC with Dallas only being three hours away.
  5. This. There was no pressure on him. Run or throw it in the stands.
  6. There's only one receiver in the frame of the video.
  7. It would be hilarious if there ends up being multiple quality starting QBs out of this draft class while the rookie struggles of last year's historically great on paper class end up not just being rookie struggles. Groupthink is a real phenomenon.
  8. Yep. Trying dunk on people right after the draft is a wee bit premature.
  9. We passed for 649 fewer yards in '21 despite having a 17th game. That's a differential of 40 yards per game. That's the difference between being the #1 passing offense in football and being the #10 passing offense in football. Darnold sucks.
  10. San Diego is a city of transplants though. In the 2017 census only 46% of San Diego area residents were even born in the state of California. Sure, folks relocate to Charlotte but not like THAT.
  11. We're talking football. You're just sensitive and limited in the same fashion as Sam Darnold.
  12. There's been a four year trend of teams with Darnold as their starting QB having a terrible offense. Our offense had to completely change because of Darnold's limitations. We had no problem moving the ball with Teddy previously. I honestly think Darnold didn't play in the preseason because once the staff actually got a chance to work with him they realized they were basically going to have to try to run a HS offense in the NFL so they had to hide him as long as possible.
  13. That clip was on 1st and 10. The very first offensive play of the game. The guy has four years of starting experience. There's plenty of sample size. Survey says... he sucks.
  14. Meh... My Sunday quality of life improved once I finally stopped watching the Panthers in the last 3-4 weeks of the season and if they stopped playing all the other non-NFL pro sports I wouldn't even notice.
  15. Yeas, some business owners will make millions. Already basically said that. But the overall economic benefit to the community as a whole is minimal at best. The vast majority of those jobs are low paying service sector jobs.
  16. Very likely the same thing that has happened his entire career... if he actually starts games for us is even on the roster. Darnold has all of the physical QB traits and none of the mental ones.
  17. Sounds good in theory, but reality doesn't match. This is what happens far too often when Darnold has time. He isn't pressured in the least. The panic is all in his head. It was his first snap of the game in week 6. Not like he'd been getting the hell best out of him all day or all season at this point.
  18. At least direct the handouts to areas that create good, long-term jobs. A new football stadium ain't it.
  19. How can people buy into this myth? Go back and watch Darnold. A lot of his worst play comes when he has good protection and time to survey the field. He plays well when his first read is open or when he's forced to dump it off to his checkdown due to immediate pressure. Sam with time to survey the field against decent coverage is usually a recipe for disaster. Better protection isn't going to fix his issues. He just doesn't see the field like a QB needs to.
  20. Yep. The "trickle down" just never happens. Most of the "good" jobs crested are temporary related to the construction. The long lasting jobs are primarily all in the low paying service jobs area. It's just another handout to the wealthy. The folks who benefit are the team owners and owners of the surrounding restaurants, hotels, apartments, etc. The rest of the surrounding community sees minimal economic benefit. Hell, you could argue that the resulting likely increase in local cost of living is a net negative for much of the surrounding community.
  21. Yeah, spending TONS of public dollars to create some primarily slave wage level service industry jobs is a great investment. Sports fans way overestimate the impact of sports teams on the local economy. Industries that create good paying jobs don't give AF about the local sports teams. The vast majority of the folks looking to relocate don't give AF about the local sport teams. It's icing on the cake.
  22. If Tepper wants to move this team and needs help packing his poo, I can be available.
  23. His situation? The previous three OU QBs produced two Heisman trophies, two #1 overall draft picks, and another Heisman finalist and a 2nd round draft pick out of a guy tossed to the wayside at Bama. There's no better college situation for a QB than OU. Hell, there's not even a close second IMO.
