  1. We win the SB if Taylor Moton is on that 2015 team. Horn and Norman would've made one helluva pair of CBs. Chinn would be a starter. Burns would've gotten a LOT of PT. DJ Moore would start. CMC would've gotten a LOT of PT though I still think Stephen Davis would've been Ron's starter.
  2. I mean, I've accepted that these guys realize they're likely fighting for their jobs and that they're highly unlikely to put their jobs on the backs of Sam Darnold (after coaching him for a year) and a 3rd round rookie. They're going to bring in another vet to try to salvage their jobs. Of the bad options available, Mayfield would be my choice. The guy has legit talent but he's a jackass. As a fan who has basically detached myself from this team emotionally, my body is ready. It'll be entertaining regardless. Maybe a slice of humble pie and a change of scenery rejuvenates Mayfield. Or... maybe it's just an absolute poo show with a QB who probably won't bite his tongue. Either way, sounds entertaining to me.
  3. This would honestly be my preference. Focus on getting Corral ready. If that means Darnold starts the first 5-6 games so be it. But focus on getting Corral ready to take the field this year. Find out if you have anything to work with or if we're still in desperate QB need again next off-season.
  4. If they took Sam then the money is a wash. Their cap hits are identical.
  5. Oh, your QB is injured? Time to really lean on him now! Signed off by
  6. Listen, if we can get them to take Sam I'm all in. Do that. Assuming we're talking about something in the 4th/5th round range in terms of pick trade compensation.
  7. I've fully expected this to get done for awhile now. Of the available (bad) options, Mayfield would be my preference. I just hope we don't get hosed. The last time we were bidding against ourselves the Jets pretty much took us to the woodshed.
  8. Agreed. The guy is a jackass but he has legit talent and maybe a big slice of humble pie is what he needs. I mean, Aaron Rodgers is a huge jackass too but he has the elite talent to get away with it. Not calling Mayfield a Rodgers level talent by any means, just staying that jackassery isn't necessarily a total deal breaker.
  9. It's what you have to do. This would be somewhat reminiscent of the Seahawks signing Matt Flynn then drafting Wilson in the 3rd. We drafted Corral in the 3rd and them we'd be trading for Mayfield. That gives you two viable options in house without huge investments in either.
  10. If we don't make a move for Baker and we suck with Darnold/Corral I gotta think that finally cooks Rhule's goose with Tepper. If we do trade for Baker and we still suck out loud just clean house completely.
  11. Rhule did an interview recently where he basically outright admitted that "the process" was basically just bullshit coach speak and trite clichés. It baffles me because Tepper aiad that you need a coach, a QB, and a GM to win in this league and then he goes and hires this college coach and hands him full control who legit thought he could build a roster good enough to make an afterthought vet reclamation project QB work. This whole damn crew shows a ton of signs of not having a clue about what they're doing and thinking they can bullshit their way through this thing... hence three straight five win seasons.
  12. I would prefer just seeing Corral too. Baker has intriguing talent but the guy is a certified jackass. Jimmy G is just a nonstarter. But, this crew has their jobs on the line and they know it. I really don't see them relying on Sam Darnold and/or a 3rd round rookie to save their asses. They're gonna try to find another lukewarm vet bandaid.
  13. Wow. Clown show. A decently running '05 Silverado with typical mileage should only go for $5k-ish in a typical market. Hell, I got offered $15k cash in a parking lot a couple months ago for my '95 Land Cruiser with 384k miles but those are kind of turning into unicorns now and the whole "overlander" craze has made them highly sought after.
  14. I've never bought a new vehicle and might never buy one. I generally buy low mileage 4-5 year old vehicles and generally pay somewhere between 40-50% original MSRP. My current 2012 4-Runner that I bought with 42k miles on it and currently has 104k miles on it is worth more right now than I paid for it several years ago. Yeah, it's a fuging clown world right now. Definitely sucks to actually NEED to buy right now.
  15. Gotcha. So if you're really good and you live somewhere with local golf courses then you can play for free. Yeah, acknowledged. But how many poor people have that initial exposure to golf? How many underprivileged inner city kids have ANY exposure to golf. There's a reason golf has it's reputation. Same as skiing. There's a huge bias toward toward the wealthy because the poo ain't cheap.
  16. By watching him play football. He's a bad QB floated by a good team and that's why the Niners took a huge gamble to trade a king's ransom to draft a raw non-D1 QB to replace him.
  17. I've traveled all around this country. Charlotte is NOT on this list. I'm not sure it would make a legit top 100.
  18. Baker is one thing. The guy has legit talent and needs a huge ego checking. If we could get him on the very cheap, go for it. Jimmy G? fug that poo. Just let Darnold play the first few games where he's going to look decent before the league gets film on him in our new offense while we frantically get Corral ready to play. Jimmy G is NOT good.
  19. You were able to play free. That is FAR from the norm.
  20. Coaching and QB play are my two biggest concerns by far. Unfortunately, the one thing football related that Tepper has been right about is that you need three things to be consistently competitive in the NFL - a QB, a coach, and a GM. The first is a long shot hope for us in the way of a 3rd round rookie. The second is virtually a confirmed bust. The third is an incomplete grade. So yeah... it's still a significant uphill road ahead of us.
  21. It's Darnold. Hence why we're still sniffing around Baker Mayfield after drafting a QB in the 3rd. Darnold ain't it.
