  1. Barely over 3000 yards and 15 TDs in today's NFL means you should be looking HARD for an upgrade at QB, NOT looking to pay that guy $40M+ per year.
  2. Hopefully there are some future Panthers working out today. But hopefully they're day three picks. I'm honestly not looking at OL or RB in the top three rounds this year barring some unbelievable value available (and assuming Bozeman is re-signed).
  3. Kirk Cousins on steroids with the right mentality would be a HOF QB though.
  4. 100%. You aren't keeping good assistant coaches for long. They'll get promotions elsewhere if things go well.
  5. The way we've assembled this staff certainly screams that we're taking a swing at a top QB in the draft. I don't know why you'd assemble a staff chock full of QB coaches of you weren't. Is Derek Carr really going to do much more continued development at 32? Stafford didn't win a Super Bowl in L.A. because of some big leap in development. He won a Super Bowl in L.A. because of a big leap in the talent around him.
  6. If you believe the 204 weight, Russell Wilson is basically that same size. If you want to call Kyler Murray successful, them so is he. I just find that 204 weight highly suspect. Dude's eyeballs were probably floating and I hope someone patted him down.
  7. The Bucs are certainly setup for a solid tanking. Hopefully the pull a Panthers and manage to set themselves up to win just enough games to be out of reach.
  8. I think Stroud's performance against UGA and his throwing at the Combine have certainly created a conversation. It definitely wouldn't surprise me if some NFL teams had him #1.
  9. I'm not saying he's making the decision himself. I'm saying he's conducting himself as if he's a lock to go #1. Yeah, he has an agent and other handlers in his ear telling him how to navigate this process. Everyone realizes that.
  10. He's conducting himself as of he's a lock to go #1. Hell, who knows? Maybe he is.
  11. Yeah, if you think a guy is a franchise QB giving up next year's first isn't THAT bad. It's when we start talking about giving up multiple future firsts that I start getting uncomfortable.
  12. It didn't work for Allen as a rookie. If we draft a QB and he plays like Allen did as a rookie people are gonna be calling him a bust and for Tepper to clean house.
  13. Don't put them on too high of a pedestal. They get it wrong all the time.
  14. This would be my biggest concern about trading up for Richardson. When you trade up for a guy there would be tremendous pressure to start him immediately. I'm not certain that's a good thing for AR.
  15. I mean, OSU thought that Dwayne Haskins was better than Joe Burrow so there's that to consider too. But yeah, honestly to be fair junior Justin Fields was almost certainly a better option for OSU than true freshman CJ Stroud.
  16. There is no honeymoon period. Everyone is expected to win now in today's NFL.
  17. Sometimes the NFL makes really bad evaluations.
  18. People are ready to pencil Purdy in as the next Tom Brady but I think they're getting way ahead of themselves. He was in the ideal situation and a complete unknown to opposing defenses. Let's see what he does next year when the league has an entire off-season to study up on him. If we even get the chance. Trey Lance very well might win that job anyway.
  19. Then what do you do next year? I think teams are going to be very aggressive this year because there's good QBs available and deals to potentially be made. I think they're all working under the assumption that Drake Maye and Caleb Williams are the top two picks next year and there's gonna be no trading for those picks.
  20. It's just a massive risk. It's basically an all-in type of move. If you take the big swing and get a big hit you'll never regret it. But if you take the big swing and whiff hard it's gonna really hurt watching some other team make those high picks while you're still sitting there desperately wanting a QB. My body is ready though. We've seen where playing it safe has gotten us. Identify a guy. Take the swing. It's very rare to have a team sitting at #1 not desperately needing a QB.
  21. Newspapers are a dead business and they've been in managed decline mode for my entire adult life. I had to unfollow my local small town newspaper on social media because it was just completely trash. Celebrity gossip, national level culture war BS, etc. Like you're a small town (sub-20k) western NC newspaper. I'm following you for local stories. When I couldn't even find the sports schedule for the local HS playoff games anywhere on their site I was like... oh just fug off and fold already. LOL!
  22. He's a phenomenal shooter. Best ever. It feels like 20 years ago when Kevin Garnett burst on the scene and every young big man wanted to try to play on the perimeter. Like bro... you ain't KG. Get your ass down there in the paint.
  23. He's operating like a guy who is a lock to go #1 overall. Hell, maybe he is. Who knows?
