  1. This would just be too much. Same will he or won't he crap as Favre, then end up traded to the Jets? Is he gonna send dick picks to some chick before ending up in Minnesota next?
  2. The folks who don't like Verge... the thread is clearly titled. If you don't care about her input that's cool. Just don't click and don't participate. It's real easy.
  3. Wouldn't shock me. I fully expect him to either be extended or released. Surely we aren't gonna let him hit us for $25M this year.
  4. Yeah, as long as we've expressed serious interest I'm sure the Bears would loop back around to see if we want to sweeten the pot on our offer. The biggest thing working against us might be the Bears preferring not to slide all the way down to #9 from #1.
  5. Let's be real. If we swing for the fences what's the worst that can happen? We suck and lose games? If we don't what's the worst that can happen? We suck and lose games? Anyone still left in Pantherdom is clearly no fairweather fan and can take losing. We'll be fine one way or the other. At least we didn't trade the franchise for a serial rapist or hire the architect of Bountygate. I can take losing. I can't take that poo.
  6. It'll piss me off if they suck it up and take it in the shorts and land an elite QB prospect the good old fashioned way only because I screamed for us to do just that for years. Instead we'd half ass our way I to being just good enough to be out of reach and then let Fields fall in our lap and still not draft him. Damn... Rhule was a fuging disaster.
  7. I honestly don't think so. He wasn't hurt at VT and being hurt has nothing to do with the offense he played in and him being 26 years old.
  8. Not impossible but I struggle to see it because I remember how pedestrian he looked at VT when he wasn't playing in that Tennessee offense. Did he pull a Hurts and improve tremendously in a different setting? Maybe. But I honestly doubt it. IMO he's a 3rd round talent.
  9. Richardson = 54.7% playing in the SEC Josh Allen = 56.2% playing in the MWC 32 teams should've passed on Pickett. No way anyone should've drafted that guy in the 1st.
  10. To play devil's advocate here, our cap situation gets LOT better after this year. We could be significant FA players. And the 1st round isn't the only place to find talent in the draft. Especially when you have good young talent at the premium positions outside of QB. Icky at LT, Horn at CB, Burns at EDGE, Moore at WR, Brown at DT, etc.
  11. Young is just too good at playing QB to last long on the board. Yeah, his small stature definitely raises questions about how long he'll last on the field and watching Tua get ragdolled around last year should still be fresh on everyone's mind. But still, someone is gonna take their chances high on draft night. Hell, it might be us.
  12. They just became a more perfect situation. Now there would be no pressure to play him before he's ready.
  13. This. We signed Teddy to a three year deal and he was cut after one season. The structure will tell you everything. This could very well be a "bridge" deal.
  14. I'll be the first to admit that if Drake Maye was available I'd be pounding the table for him. But he's not. As such he's simply not a part of the discussion. A LOT could happen between now and next April. Hell, he could pull an Andrew Luck and opt to go back to school.
  15. It's why I was advocating for just sticking with Rhule through the season. Once we didn't fire him after his second season like we should have, we should've just seen our mistake through so that we could harvest the fruits of our mistake. We definitely have a top 5 pick if Rhule hadn't been fired. Potentially top 3.
  16. Hopefully he goes back to covering the Panthers from the outside. You're always just going to get the company line from folks who actually work directly for the team and honestly understandably so. They're literally getting paid to deliver the company line.
  17. And next year it'll be another guy or two who isn't draft eligible yet who will be better in their eyes than Williams or Maye and we'll need to wait on them. Ad infinitum.
  18. Next year's class is always better for the "just wait" crowd. They probably wanted to pass on Cam in 2011 to wait on Luck in 2012.
  19. If they're the level of prospects people think they are then the only way to land one will be to suck your way into a top two pick because Amy team that does won't be trading out of it.
  20. If you're sitting at #3, that's still two chances for your guy to be drafted. Better be a situation where you'd be thrilled to have any of the top 3 at #3 and I just don't know how good the chances are if that being the case.
