  1. Firing Rhule now would make the fans feel better but it wouldn't fundamentally fix anything this season and would likely induce chaos in the organization as a good chunk of the staff followed Rhule to his next college job. As much as it sucks, honestly retaining Rhule until late in the season is honestly maybe the best course of action.
  2. I really do believe those Mac Jones rumors. There was way too much smoke for their not to be some fire and there was no reason for the Niners to be putting up a smokescreen. Then again, Mac Jones sucks too. I really think Shanny just got caught up in the hype train of that QB draft class and just had to get him one at any cost. Now he's really handcuffed himself on how to fix his long-term QB problem due to that trade.
  3. Jimmy G sucks but he's basically Teddy Bridgewater. I mean, they've already gone to a NFC CG and SB with Jimmy G. That roster doesn't need an elite QB to contend, they just need something better than Trey Lance who really did look Mayfield level bad. They gotta regret the fug out of that trade.
  4. That and Stafford is very obviously not right. He looks bad. I think that elbow is a problem.
  5. Bobby Wagner would've gotten ejected for targeting in the college game for the hit he put on the fan on the field. He hammered that dude. https://www.facebook.com/SportsCenter/videos/801867677795935/?flite=scwspnss&mibextid=cV6XMN5UE6oGu1k3
  6. Oh, 100%. Even if Stafford's arm is shot that trade was absolutely worth it for them.
  7. Evidently it's tendonitis and that poo takes forever to get over. I've dealt with elbow tendonitis before. Fortunately mine was mild but it still lingers forever and certain movements just send a lightning bolt down your arm. I honestly don't think you ever truly recover from from some soft tissue injuries. My elbow will still occasionally flare up and so will my big toe from a turf toe injury years ago. Injuries to tendons and ligaments are just a motherfuger
  8. The announcers have been hesitant to flat out say it, but Stafford has pretty much been terrible tonight (and this season). I think that elbow is a problem.
  9. Pretty sure Longo is the planned successor to Mack.
  10. Jimmy G is ass. Which is still better than Trey Lance. And anyone we've had playing at QB since Cam's shoulder fell apart.
  11. Millions of dollars in the bank and knowing your coaching staff is clueless likely creates a whole lot of DGAF mentality. Hell, it probably becomes a coping mechanism.
  12. The sound of ping pong being played in the background says it all.
  13. Every time I think the Panthers have hit rock bottom they break out the heavy machinery and bust right through it.
  14. The one singular aspect of NFLing this crew has proven proficient at is finding competent kickers. That ain't gonna get you far but I guess it's something.
  15. There's no sugarcoating it. Tepper has been an utter disaster for the Carolina Panthers thus far. The vitriol toward Rhule really needs to be at Tepper IMO. Tepper is the one who gave a college coach with bare minimum NFL experience full control over the football organization right out of the gate. That's setting him up to fail. I don't think any first time NFL coach is ready for that type of control. Hell, very few NFL coaches period are going to best operate with that type of control.
  16. With Rhule having final say and without knowing really how much input they've had on personnel decisions it's pretty much impossible to say for sure. I lean pretty heavily toward no unless inside info says this is Rhule's clown show, they've tried to provide good guidance and he's ignored it to do clown show poo.
  17. Interim coach here this year isn't exactly a fair shake either.
  18. Anyone expecting Rhule to be fired immenently is going to continue to be disappointed week after week. There's no upside to firing him right now. Especially since he's likely land another college job and take a decent chunk of our current staff with him. Many will say no big deal, let them go. And while I agree, you do still need folks in those positions. Rhule will likely be fired at the conclusion of the season or maybe very late in the season like Rivera was. That's just what makes sense. Now it wouldn't shock me if Tepper tells Rhule mid-season that he's not returning next year to try to prompt him to jump ship to a college job to wiggle his way out of that contract but I just can't see that happening. I can't see Rhule walking away from tens of millions of dollars.
  19. We got what I expected. Rhule just wanted to show Tepper he could get former NFL HCs to work for him. So he went out and got two in McAdoo and Wilks who don't fit our talent on offense and in the secondary, respectively.
  20. Julian Council (whoever that is) is telling the hard truth. Seems like a lot of folks are still clinging to hope for Scott Fitterer and I'm not seeing anything to rationalize it.
  21. It's some serious self ownage if he is. Rhule will be fine. Once Tepper fires him he'll likely have another college job pretty quickly. Probably not a powerhouse program. Hell, maybe not even a P5 program. But he'll have no problem getting another college job. I just think Tepper is really struggling to come to grips with him being so sold on this guy that he gave him a ludicrous contract and amount of organizational control and he proved to be very, very wrong. He's struggling to swallow that bitter pill.
  22. Let's be honest though. It's very obvious now why the Browns had to eat most of his salary just to move him for a conditional 5th round pick. That's almost certainly what the Jets would've had to do with Darnold too if we weren't so dumb and desperate.
  23. Probably. And then Darnold comes in and the results will look pretty much the same except with more fumbles.
  24. Add Ian Thomas, Shi Smith, and Chuba Hubbard to the trash list.
