If you're gonna do that, you better draft Richardson. He's used to watching passes bounce off receivers' hands and basically having to do everything himself.
-
I mean, look at the WRs available. They're not good.
-
Yeah, we cannot give up all we did to get a QB at #1 overall and then put these offensive skill position players around him. That would be criminal.
-
I doubt it would get us a "stud". A Tyler Boyd level guy would probably be about the best we could do. But that's also a lot better than we currently have, so...

It's not the worst idea I've ever heard.

Losing DJ plus targeting D in FA. Chinn seems like a potentially valuable trade asset and we've made a move that makes him expendable. I don't like the thought of trading him but if he doesn't fit the scheme...
-
Oh, he has a real position alright. His position is as a cover 3 SS.
-
I had previously sort of wondered if Chinn might be a potential trade piece. I can't recall the new staff really saying much at all about him. Then you see Von Bell signed who plays a similar style to Chinn... honestly, I hack EXPECT Chinn to be traded at this point

The difference is we hold the #1 overall pick. Everyone knows our next QB is coming with that pick.

San Darnold signs with the 49ers
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I absolutely despised trading for Darnold and idiotically picking up his fifth year option to double down on the move and try to show people how much we believed in him. But honestly, I grew to like the guy. I'm glad I won't have to see him suit up at QB again for the Panthers but I very unironically wish Sam Darnold the person absolutely nothing but the best. Seems like a good dude.- 138 replies

The silence is deafening. I honestly wonder if he isn't being quietly shopped.

I wish him the best. I wonder if Lance gets shopped? I doubt they carry three QBs. -
He's better but he misses a lot of time. Hope this doesn't come back to bite us. But if we don't get some offensive skill position players in here at some point kicker is gonna be the least of our concerns.

If this staff plays Chinn at FS again I'm gonna lose a lot of confidence in them right off the bat, at least on that side of the ball.
-
Does this signal Chinn to LB? I really thought we'd be looking for a true over the top FS, not another SS. Or is Chinn gonna get shopped to recoup some draft capital?
-
I think all that "bridge" talk is over. You don't give up all that we did to draft a kid to sit behind a guy like Sam Darnold. This kid is playing day one.
-
I think it signals that he's just not part of the plans moving forward and is probably highly unlikely to be on the final roster. If we try to put him on the PS he'll likely get plucked. So if you can get a late round pick just take it and move on.

I sincerely hope Hubert proves me wrong. I'm just not seeing any signs of actual coaching, player development, and zero concept of how to manage substitutions and rotations. At this point of Hubert works out long-term it'll be shocking. I'm rooting for him but I don't think it's gonna work out.

How about no more huge money RBs.

Albert Breer on how the trade happened

It's certainly a sink or swim move. -

Three 1sts and 2nds... oh wee mayne. Where's Kevin Costner? -

I wouldn't have given up two 2nds plus DJ in that case then. Two 2nds plus DJ is a helluva lot more value than a future 1st. -
It's Stroud and it shouldn't even be close
LinvilleGorge replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
And if Young was a little bigger it would be an easy pick to go with Young. If UF receivers could catch it might be an easy pick to go with Richardson. I don't see the slam dunk #1. I hope our staff does. -
Tony Pauline: CJ Stroud or Anthony Richardson
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trading up to #1 to draft Richardson would terrify me and I'm a big proponent of AR's talent. You can make a very compelling argument he's the most talented QB prospect ever. He was my guy at #9 of he was available. AR is going to get people fired. People are going to get fired for drafting him if he's a bust and people are going to get fired for passing on him if he's a hit. -

Honestly, I would've gave up the three 1st rounders. An additional 1st is a LOT more palatable than two 2nds and DJ Moore IMO.
