  1. No, I get it. I don't think Washington is trading him for anything less than a ridiculous offer so it's kind of a moot point anyway. If your QB sucks and you have a rookie who has shown promise in preseason you'd be crazy to trade him for anything less than a ridiculous offer.
  2. Nor should we. But we should definitely be listening to offers and CMC, Robby, and Shaq would be the three players I'd be most interested in moving.
  3. Oh, I think there's zero chance they're trading Howell outside of an absolutely stupid offer.
  4. Evidently the Packers were offering a 6th. I honestly think I'd take any draft capital over Akers who is basically at this point a disgruntled bust of a former 2nd round pick. Collecting other teams' draft busts has worked out predictably for us.
  5. I'd literally rather have a later mid-round pick (say a 5th) for Robby. Why would I want a RB who has less than 1000 total yards in his career that's now in it's third year? You can sign guys like that off the street.
  6. Pick a QB. If he sucks, pick another one. Keep swinging until you get a hit.
  7. Well, this would be really dumb. Which means it's something the Panthers are highly likely to do.
  8. Baker is terrible. Corral unfortunately looked significantly worse than terrible and then he got hurt. Hence why everyone is banging the drum for a 1st round QB.
  9. The Rams have been struggling and are in desperate need for a "get right" game. Fortunately for them, they play the Panthers this weekend.
  10. Well, this has become the rippadonn echo chamber. at thinking any coach is going to be tied to Matt Corral. We'll have narrowed our options down to coaches with no other viable employment opportunities if that's the case. You can see how well that works out with our current OC.
  11. I sincerely hope we don't do that as desperately as I want a 1st round QB. If the right QB is there, absolutely draft him. But don't force it. Let's say you think there's three franchise QBs in the draft and you're sitting at #4 and they go #1-#3 and you tried to trade up and got rebuffed. You can't draft a QB in that situation just to check the box.
  12. This. We absolutely should not pass on good QB prospects because of Matt Corral. He's on a cheap rookie contract so he's going to have every opportunity to earn a roster spot. Have I given up on him? No. Do I hold very little hope for him becoming a high level NFL starting QB? Yes, that would be extremely fair to say.
  13. This is just hilarious. I've said over and over that it'll be awesome if Corral proves to be the answer I just think it's a very, very long shot. You've always done this stuff. Get ridiculously emotionally attached to your own opinion and then double and triple down and mock any other opinion and refuse to actually engage like a rational adult. That's why I just treat you as entertainment. You don't act like someone who wants to be taken seriously.
  14. All the while you provide your hilariously bad analysis of Matt Corral that requires teleporting to an alternate dimension where Matt Corral didn't look like quite possibly the worst QB on an NFL roster in the preseason. Awesome. But he "has it". Whatever "it" is in this case, I'll pass.
  15. Who are these "Baker boys"? Mayfield sucks. Yeah, he was our best bad bet going into the season but he sucks. Corral sucked. Everyone we've had at QB since Cam's shoulder fell apart has sucked. That's predictable when you've been shopping in the bargain bin for the by far most valuable roster piece. Matt Corral looked like a fan who won a contest to play QB for the day in preseason but he "has it". Hilarious.
  16. I really don't understand the talent argument with Corral. I'll admit, he was my #2 QB prospect in this draft. I thought he had a great release, decent arm and plus mobility. His arm in the NFL is honestly average but the quick release helps make up for that. He's not a runner at the NFL level but I think he has more mobility than the average NFL QB. But then... we saw him on an NFL field and woah boy. There's just no way to sugarcoat it. He just didn't look like he belonged. Say it was playing with backups or poorly handling his development or whatever, but despite being put in bad situations good players generally look like they belong. The results night not be good but you can see the traits. You can envision that guy playing well in a better situation. I just didn't see any of that with Matt Corral. He looked in every way like a UDFA who wasn't gonna make it past the first round of roster cuts.
  17. Evaluating NFL prospects is never going to be an exact science. You can never precisely tell how a guy is going to translate to a higher level of competition, especially when you're also going to make him a multi-millionaire overnight at the same time. This NIH stuff might actually help to eliminate some of the guys who will get derailed by the instant riches because big time college QBs are gonna be making some real money now. Not NFL money but these kids are gonna have plenty of money to fug up. But yeah, it's always going to be imperfect. There's always gonna be steals and busts.
  18. The Pac-12 is basically irrelevant. Being in the hunt for the Pac-12 championship just doesn't really matter. UNC is in the driver's seat to win the Coastal division of the ACC this year. I'm not about to argue that we're a powerhouse. The reality is that currently Clemson is the only ACC program with national relevance. I don't think the Pac-12 actually has that team currently though it would be easy to see USC getting back there. A mid-level team rising to relevance with a particular QB is an argument for that QB, not the mid-tier program.
  19. I predict come January or February you've fallen in love with a new QB prospect. Last year it was Trask. This year it was Corral.
  20. Is he Wentz before or after the injuries? It's easy to forget that Wentz was a legit MVP candidate at his best.
