If season ended today which QB would you take.
LinvilleGorge replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
5'10" to 5'11" based on pics of him standing beside folks of known height. Kenny Pickett was 6'3" at the Combine. -

I honestly didn't understand the move for Wentz. The dude was obviously washed up. Had the known they could get a Howell in the mid-rounds I suspect they would've rolled with Heinicke. I mean, they flat out admitted to basically just drafting Howell because they thought the value at that point was absurd. -

He is not 5'8". I bet he measures in around 5'11". -
A decent QB and OC would make all the difference. Yeah, our TEs are trash. Our overall WR group is decent. Our RBs are decent. Our OL is good. This is an average offense with an average QB and OC. It would be a borderline top 10 offense with an elite QB and OC.

No. Heineke is a solid backup. I don't think it's an awful idea not to force Howell into action before he's fully ready. Especially given that Washington OL. -

Another inch doesn't make a difference. At least that's what she said. -

I bet you wouldn't see a huge difference in OL and DL average height/length in the NFL vs. high level P5 college teams. -

I'm far more concerned about his slight frame than his height. Seahawks Wilson and Brees didn't have any issue -

I would take Sam Howell all day everyday over Levis. -
It's a QB and system problem. The surrounding talent isn't terrible but they look terrible with terrible QB play in an inept offensive system.

Yep. I've been begging for him to call Kevin Colbert and pay him whatever it takes to come in as a consultant and build him a legit football operation. He doesn't have to stick around. Just come in and make sure sure we get the right people in place. -

1. Nope. They don't exist. 2. Maybe. I expect draft evaluations of these QBs to be all over the place. A lot of teams will balk at Young's size. Teams will likely hesitate wondering if Stroud would translate to a team that isn't far more talented than the competition. I just don't get the Levis hype at all. 3. Maybe. Richardson has the most intriguing blend of physical talent IMO. It all comes down to his interviews and background investigation. -

I hope for David Tepper to quit fuging up constantly. That's what the Panthers really need. -

This has been the recurring theme of the Tepper era. The thought of a new QB and new coaching staff is both exciting and dread inducing since there's zero indications we'll choose wisely and ample indication we'll blunder colossally. -

I haven't watched any Arkansas games so I can't really comment. -

I was baffled by the Josh Allen hype too. Like Allen, all the physical tools are there. It just comes down to whether or not you think he has the right mental makeup and can be developed similarly. I have no idea. That's the part that is fans are pretty much clueless on. That part of the evaluation comes down to the interviews, talking to coaches, teachers, teammates, etc. -

We gotta stop thinking we can find a quick fix. Take the guy we think can become the best NFL QB, not necessarily the guy we think will be the best rookie QB. -

That would be a very on brand move for Tepper's Panthers. -

Honestly, this is kinda my thought process. Roll the dice on the boom or bust guy and if he busts trade him for whatever we can get like the Cards did with Rosen and move on. At some point you have to start swinging on QBs and keep swinging until you get on base. -

Richardson IF the interviews and whiteboard work checks out. That plays HUGELY into the draft evaluation and is something we're pretty much completely blind to except for word leaking out and those are likely lies. -
Just play PJ. Baker sucks and playing him will result in parting with a higher pick. Darnold sucks but could have a brief period of success like at the beginning of last year and we can't afford that.

If I could build a franchise around a QB, my choices would go: 1. Mahomes significant gap 2. Allen 3. Joe Burrow significant gap 4. Justin Herbert

The Panthers simply aren’t tough enough to win in the NFL
LinvilleGorge replied to Cdparr7's topic in Carolina Panthers
We aren't good enough at the QB position to win in the NFL and the overall design of our offense is just straight trash to boot. -
Travis Kelce is awesome. Reminds me so much of Greg Olsen but add big time YAC ability.

He has elite talent but he's a head case. I'd be willing to take a late round flier on him but someone will probably take a chance on him in the mid-rounds of he comes out. Honestly, I'm not certain SCar wants him back anyway.
