  1. I really like RGIII as a commentator. I think the guy does a helluva job.
  2. Are you serious? Yeah, losing to UVA sucked ass but we're still 6-1. We still have a great shot at an ACC championship game and a NYE6 bowl. Yeah, we're out of the playoffs conversation and that sucks but realistically that was always a long shot. We're just not quite at that level of team just yet. We went 3-9 and 2-9 in Fedora's last two seasons and we were recruiting horribly and our relationships with home state powerhouse HSs were in the tank. They were actively telling their kids to go anywhere BUT UNC. That's where we were. So yeah, I would absolutely say that we're back on track. Carolina football is not Carolina basketball. Never has been. Hopefully one day we can get there but saying fug your coach who came out of retirement and a cushy commentator job to come back to the program he once built and always loved to try to pull it out of the gutter once again and has us 6-1 currently and is recruiting well is just being a shitty fan. Sam Howell flipped his commitment almost immediately after Fedora was fired and Mack was hired. Mack coming back and Howell coming to UNC spurred the turnaround. Drake Maye is a legacy kid but does he come to Carolina if we're 2-9 with a coach who has actively pissed off every HS coach in NC? I don't know. I honestly doubt it. Mack Brown never once said anything not glowing about UNC even after he left for Texas. He told anyone who would listen that this program is a sleeping giant. All he wanted from Carolina was to match the offer from Texas but they wouldn't even come close. So no, even fully acknowledging Mack's deficiencies in Xs and Os and game day sideline coaching I absolutely cannot get onboard with "fug Mack Brown" energy. He was what we needed at the time. We just gotta get the successor hire right. Meanwhile... WFU just dropped a gimme INT and FSU quickly scores a TD a few plays later. Those are the plays you have to make if you're gonna get the upset.
  3. I cannot comprehend this type of thoughts process at all. Look at where this program was. Fedora had us in the gutter. Look where we are now. I'll never claim that Brown is a good Xs and Os guys or a good game day coach. He isn't. But he's a recruiter and a program builder and that's what we desperately needed. He has done what he was hired to do which was get this program back on track. The real trick is nailing the long-term replacement hire. Because everyone knew that Mack Brown was a short term fix.
  4. Yeah, in terms of competitive matchups between good teams those look to be the best bets of the day.
  5. It's not just streaming. That's the "business model" of a terrifying amount of big tech companies. It's probably the new .com bubble. These companies have huge market caps, huge debt, huge exposure and user bases, but they absolutely suck at turning those users into revenue but investors keep dumping in funds expecting them to figure out how to monetize it at some point. I seriously doubt many will.
  6. Tomorrow night will tell us everything about the rest of the Heels' season. They'll either bounce back strong and kick the poo out of GT or we're gonna folks like a cheap suit down the stretch again like last year.
  7. Ron probably has the best pair of edge rushers in the NFL and his D is still straight trash. The ceiling for his longevity in Washington is probably their bye week.
  8. I mean, what does it say about you when your only defense is incredible stupidity or wanton negligence to end up getting caught doing what you claim everyone else is doing? Is that really the guy you wanna hire?
  9. I mean, Syracuse is terrible. The combined score of their prior three games (all losses) is 112-24.
  10. Signgate definitely seems significant. Could definitely end up with Harbaugh jumping back to the NFL as Michigan could definitely end up with some pretty considerable punishment for something this blatant and long lasting. Kinda bizarre how it took so long for it to come to a head.
  11. I don't know about all that. I hope that my buddy plays well but that I play better and we beat them seems to be a perfectly reasonable, charitable, and consistent viewpoint.
  12. He did this same thing with Gettleman. His Hurney derangement syndrome is so severe that he has to defend tooth and nail anyone not named Marty Hurney.
  13. The desperation to claw together enough wins not to hand the Bears the #1 overall pick if things are trending that way down the stretch is gonna be pretty comical to watch. Because holy poo are we gonna look like complete clowns if we hand the Bears #1 overall a year after trading a haul to get to #1 overall.
  14. They would be if the franchise themselves didn't build in protections. What they've started to do more and more in recent years is requiring you not to just buy one location but to buy an entire region.
  15. We're treating this like he's Aaron Donald or JJ Watt or prime Von Miller. Burns ain't that. He's not the cornerstone of a dominant defense.
  16. Oh, I agree. It's not going to happen. I do find it curious how much stringent capitalists can openly embrace a system that is outright socialist though. It's an interesting phenomenon.
  17. I wouldn't pay a damn dime to watch the team that Tepper is fielding.
  18. It's the league that doesn't want it with how their revenue split works. With the TV contracts they can rationalize the even split. But if the fans can actually buy the games they want and nothing more it's going to really expose the reality that a lot of teams just flat out don't matter and don't drive viewership. If you have cable or satellite or currently have Sunday Tickets or whatever they call it these days and a bad game is on you might still tune it, at least to have it in in the background since there's no additional cost incurred. But if say the Panthers and Bears are playing on Thursday night football and you can tune in for say $4.99, how many people are honestly gonna do that? Wouldn't take long for the owners of the teams that are driving all the actual viewership to start demanding their fair share of the revenue and stop floating the David Teppers of the league who consistently field a product no one seems worthy of shelling out the money to watch. Me personally? I absolutely wish they would. Owning an NFL team would not longer be a guaranteed golden ticket. There would be very strong financial incentive to field a winner and not just live off of the league split being carried by the teams folks actually want to see.
  19. We signed Thielen in free agency. We didn't trade valuable draft assets for him. Now with that said if we're going to keep Fitts, then sure. Why not? He'll just piss those picks away anyway.
  20. The Huddle couldn't do any worse than 0-6 (plus 0-3 in preseason when I was assured it didn't matter and there was no cause for concern). Hell, I bet we could've accomplished that while even hanging onto next years (very high) 1st round pick.
  21. This roster he's assembled tells me it wasn't just Matt Rhule who was incompetent.
