  1. I stumped so fuging hard for Sam Howell. So. Fuging. Hard.
  2. Pete Carroll sits down and explains the thought process behind "that play" with Richard Sherman.
  3. David Newton is trash but not gonna lie, Ickey has looked concerning this preseason. Dudes are just blowing right by him practically untouched.
  4. Front porch is done except for the front steps I rebuilt. I'll let that new pressure treated wood dry out for a few weeks before staining it.
  5. I've been extremely curious how we'll ultimately use Chinn. I don't think they're really showing their cards too much on that one in preseason.
  6. Trex runs close to triple the cost but doesn't require painting or staining so you save on the back end. Word of warning, that poo gets HOT in the sun. If I was considering Trex I'd just make the leap all the way to Ipe. I'd love to do Ipe but I have nearly 1200 square feet of porch and deck. It would be brutally expensive for me even doing all the work myself. I'd be looking at close to $20k in lumber cost.
  7. Lance for Corral. Straight up. They're ready to give up on Lance. We're ready to give up on Corral.
  8. Maybe we could get a conditional late rounder from a team that had a decent draft grade on him. I honestly can't see him bringing anything more than that and I'm not sure anyone would offer anything. He's looked terrible. Can't really sugarcoat it.
  9. $41k...oh wee mayne. I'm glad I do all my own work. Anything I can't do my dad can. Well, rather he can coach me through it while he talks about how much better he could've done it. I'll be into this project about $800. I think the porch and patio with fireplace out in CO ran be about $4k.
  10. At first glance I thought that OSB was brick and was like what in the hell is going on here?
  11. Yep. Anytime you're trying to project talent to the next level of competition it's gonna be a crap shoot. A lot of 4 and 5 star recruits bust in college while a lot of afterthought recruits become All-Conference and All-Americans. A lot of high draft picks bust in the NFL while a lot of mid to late round draft picks and even UDFAs become good pros. It's always been the case and it'll always be the case.
  12. The most annoying thing about Florio for me is that he always feels like he's auditioning to be the President of the NFLPA. Yeah, we get it. You were labor lawyer. We don't care.
  13. I was fine with Bryce, Stroud, or Richardson. I was most intrigued by Richardson though. Maybe it's just because of the success we had with Cam. I don't know. I could just most easily translate his talent to the NFL. With Bryce you're HEAVILY relying on him being the smartest guy on the field. Hopefully he is.
  14. I'd deal with triple digits before dealing with NYC and I hate heat. But I hate big cities a lot more.
  15. What if we had done that but then Reich and company still wanted "their guy" then Howell was way outplaying Bryce? Oh wee mayne. What a poo show that would be.
  16. Yeah, that's brutal. My business partner lives in College Station and he sent me this on Sunday when I was bitching to him about the "heat".
  17. Pretty standard for preseason. You talk about what there is to talk about.
  18. Meanwhile, Chris Simms on Sam Howell...
  19. He's not exactly wrong. Now with that said, there's a very small sample size and the OL has been atrocious. So I'm not exactly panicking yet but I also haven't seen anything to get excited about yet either. So yeah, I get where he's coming from here.
  20. I'm not sure if it's the chicken or the egg. I do know this new pressure treated wood oftentimes rots out around the screws. That might be what's eating up the fasteners. The wood starts rotting and retaining moisture and that corrodes the fastener.
  21. Smitty is by far the best WR in the two units but I think this year's unit has significantly better depth of talent.
  22. Yep, pressure treated lumber went to poo when they stopped using CCA to treat it. That was about 20 years ago. I've seen stained or painted pressure treated lumber rot out in 6-7 years if it's uncovered in a heavily shaded area. UV smokes it too. I've seen raw wood decks splitting all to hell within 5 years on uncovered south facing lots in CO.
  23. I could've replaced all the uncovered decking boards but with lumber still high I just spot replaced boards. None were rotting. I just replaced a few that were cupping or curling. I replaced the front steps be sure they were in considerably worse shape than the covered porch and with it being raw wood I wanted to use a transparent stain. If I was using a solid stain on the front porch like the back I would've let them ride.
