  1. This dude is gutter trash saved at UNC by having two elite QBs. His red zone plays calling makes Mike Shula look like Andy Reid.
  2. Damn y'all. We don't need a new Baker Mayfield thread everyday. Pick one of the multiple ones that already exist.
  3. The difference is that Cam and DJ had/have the ability. Sam Darnold doesn't. He has the physical tools but he's not a QB between the ears. He doesn't see the field like a QB. He doesn't process the information quick enough. He can't revert to instinct and get out of his thinking mind. I don't think it can be taught. You either have it or you don't. He doesn't. He has done a great job of maximizing what he had to work with and translating that to wealth. Good for him. I ain't mad at him. But I don't feel sorry for him either.
  4. Imagine having Sam Darnold's bank account. I'd manage.
  5. He's a bad QB but I have zero issues with Sam Darnold the person and wish him nothing but the best.
  6. The Mannings already blocked Eli from going to the Chargers because they were such a dumpster fire of an organization. Doesn't bode well for the Panthers.
  7. He's the same age as the typical 2nd or 3rd year rookie right now. If he was the real deal he's be lighting it up in college. Guys like Trask and Pickett don't have near the talent and put up video game numbers because they were literal men amongst boys. Levis still put up JAG stats in that same situation.
  8. My concern with Levis is age. Basically a pure measurables, raw tools, potential guy who will be 24 before he ever puts on an NFL jersey? Richardson has higher potential and he's three years younger. Just not sure a 24 year old is gonna make a huge developmental jump.
  9. https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/181043-derrick-brown-named-2022-walter-payton-nfl-man-of-the-year-nominee/
  10. There are already three other threads to choose from.
  11. If the choice is between Will Levis or Anthony Richardson, I'm rolling the dice on Richardson all day everyday.
  12. Oh trust me, I get it. I just look at all the best young QBs in the league currently and they all had significant question marks and only Burrow was the #1 overall pick. Burrow was a one year wonder playing with elite receivers. Herbert came from a one read offense that didn't translate to the NFL. Allen couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Mahomes came from a gimmicky system that grossly inflates passing stats. I think a lot of times teams get caught in the trap of drafting the guy they think will be the best rookie instead of the guy who they think can ultimately develop into the best QB. There's no way guys like Kenny Pickett and Mac Jones should've ever sniffed the first round, but they were viewed as the most "NFL ready". That's all well and good to be "NFL ready" but it doesn't matter if you don't have NFL tools.
  13. Josh Allen had 1800 passing yards in his final college season before going #7 overall.
  14. I wouldn't write off Love just yet. He's been sitting behind a future HOFer and he's basically the same age as Will Levis.
  15. Seems like most of our fanbase is there. Nothing short of the Andrew Luck type prospect is going to satisfy them. Everything else is a bad QB class But the reality the Andrew Lucks come around about once a decade and the last one (Trevor Lawrence) isn't exactly setting the world on fire so far.
  16. I don't know. The Niners have a strong OL and a strong running game. Baker has looked pretty good in a similar situation previously in Cleveland.
  17. I sure as hell hope Nix isn't getting potential 1st round projections. The last thing in the world the Heels need is for him to sit out the bowl and to face another backup QB. You wanna see a guy look like a Heisman contender? That's a backup QB vs. UNC. All four losses versus backup QBs.
  18. It's unrealistic in any draft. You're always hoping for an MVP caliber talent but if that's the floor of what you're willing to accept then you're highly likely to be continually disappointed. The reality is that he'd rather lose games with a Kirk Cousins than win games with a Cam Newton. Some of these old dinosaurs ha e an image of what a QB looks and plays like and they'd rather lose games with that type of QB than win games with a dual threat QB.
  19. This is why people don't take you seriously. A league MVP is the floor of your QB goals?
  20. He's wildly reminiscent of Allen IMO. I lived in CO while Allen played at Wyoming so his games were always on for me. I probably watched more of his college games than anyone else on this board sheerly due to geography and TV schedules. I'm telling you, in college they're basically the same guy. Honestly, Richardson is a better passer than Allen was at this stage. Allen threw a few balls every game that honestly it was difficult to ascertain who exactly he was even attempting to target. They were THAT bad.
  21. I don't think throwing at the Combine honestly really matters unless you're absolutely disastrous. Everyone knows you're throwing to receivers you're unfamiliar with. Cam didn't throw very well at the Combine and still went #1 overall and had back to back 400+ yard passing games to kick off his NFL career. Teams are gonna watch Florida games and see a poo ton of passes bouncing off receivers' hands.
  22. If dudes are being offered $5M in the portal then we just need to go ahead and put up that Drake Maye statue in Chapel Hill right now because that dude is as committed to Carolina as anyone has ever been.
