  1. Who would've thought a year ago that Russell Wilson would be a potential huge negative in terms of luring in their next head coach? The guy just looked THAT bad this year and you're tied to him for a couple more years due to that contract.
  2. Everyone I know who is a fan of theirs has been screaming for Howell for weeks. Now they're doubting he plays next week because if you put him in now and he plays well you're REALLY gonna look like a jackass.
  3. I don't know about all that. I think we lost the game via turnovers and Mike Evans leaving tire marks on Taylor and Henderson.
  4. I wouldn't hate it, but I'd rather take a DE or a CB. If we are taking a WR there I'd prefer an outside guy or at least a guy who can play on the outside. I'm a huge UNC fan so I love Downs but the knock on him as an NFL prospect is that he's a slot only guy. That's why I don't buy the borderline 1st round talk. I think he probably ends up going somewhere between the mid-2nd and mid-3rd.
  5. That and not demanding safety over the top help on Mike Evans at all times after he'd already burnt us deep for TDs twice. When it happened a third time I was like... okay, somebody's gotta get fired for this poo. You know you don't have an active CB that can hang with this guy. Why are you still leaving them on an island with him? That was probably the worst a single WR had done us since Julio had "that game" on us after we let J-No walk.
  6. I don't think so. He's a defensive guy and the defense actually got worse.
  7. That's not what he said. He said Wilks with Darnold back as the starter. I'm not completely opposed with entertaining Wilks staying. But Darnold is not a long-term option at starting QB. If he's signed to backup money and is keeping the seat warm for a developing rookie, fine. But committing to Darnold long-term as the starter and I'm out. That'd be it.
  8. I still have no idea how they duped themselves into doing that. Stroud lit up the closest thing you can find to an NFL D outside of the NFL while Lance was playing against dudes that for the most part weren't even getting UDFA calls.
  9. Throw the draft value chart out. Per the chart, our 1st and 3rd. But the Niners spent three 1sts and a 3rd to go to #3 and per the chart it should've taken their 1st, 2nd and maybe a 6th. When it's for a QB and the phone is ringing the bidding goes wild quickly. I fully expect the Bears to put that pick on the block if teams are clamoring for Young and Stroud.
  10. Same thing we're all doing. Talking about football and hoping we get better.
  11. It's why I haven't watch much Panthers football in the past 5-6 weeks.
  12. I would expect someone who would make a great DC to at very least make sure we had a safety over top of Evans at all times after he'd already torched us deep twice. Honestly, the D got worse after Snow was fired, quit, or whatever.
  13. Winning meaningless games does nothing but hurt your ability to improve in the future. It's the downside of pro sports fandom. There's comes a point in bad seasons where losing literally becomes in your best interest. The fun thing about college sports is that there's never any competitive advantage to losing. You can always guilt free root to win. That's not the case in pro sports. Moral victories don't matter. They don't exist. You are what your record says you are. You're better off with higher draft picks than wins that don't contribute to a playoff appearance.
  14. Can they keep him there? It's already a poo hole. He can't fug it up any worse.
  15. Meh, why does it matter? He and his team can't control that. He's just trying to focus on what he can control. Nothing wrong with that.
  16. Tepper has absolute zero good will equity to spend, but if he has any he'd be well served to spend it on announcing Wilks will not be retained to gut the team going into the final game to secure that L. But the guy is almost universally hated by the fanbase already.
  17. It is for top 10 IOL picks. They're not common. Quentin Nelson is the only IOL drafted in the top 10 since and while he's certainly great, how has that worked out for the Colts as a team?
  18. Linemen picks used to be pretty much guaranteed. Far from it these days. Plenty of 1st round OL busts. Hell, two of the more recently drafted top 10 IOL both were drafted in the same year and both busted. Johnathan Cooper and Chance Warmack. #7 and #10 overall. Busts.
  19. Do you know who you're taking to? I've been focused on the draft since before Halloween.
  20. Yeah, I think if we called the Rams asking if that deal was still on the tables they'd laugh and be like nah, we sobered up since then.
  21. I like Burns. But I admit that not taking those picks was a mistake. I don't think he's worth paying like one of the best pass rushers on the league and that's what we'll be faced with doing.
  22. All the best young QBs currently in the league had warts. Herbert played in a one read offense and wasn't trusted to throw in clutch situations. Allen couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Mahomes played in a gimmick offense that inflates stats. Burrow was old and a one year wonder. There's no such thing as knowing for sure how a prospect will turn out.
