  1. That was one wild ass finish. I didn't tune in until about 5 minutes to go
  2. Yeah. I mean, I ain't mad about it but it's super obvious.
  3. If that's not targeting then targeting doesn't exist.
  4. I like RG3 as an announcer. He's good.
  5. Damn. It's why I never blame the kids when they sit out these also ran bowls. Yeah, it sucks but I get it.
  6. Just saw that LSU/Purdue score. Holy poo.
  7. Plenty of rookie don't play great. Allen looked bad. Trevor Lawrence looked bad. But after a year with the guy you have a pretty good feel for what he is, both physically and mentally and are in a pretty good place to make a projection on him in terms of his career trajectory.
  8. This dude is allergic to staying in one place long.
  9. Let the coaches and front office make the call. They'll know who he is by then even if the results aren't there. The Cardinals cut bait on Rosen after a year because they already knew he was an arrogant, uncoachable prick.
  10. I say fug it, draft Anthony Richardson. Yeah, he's boom or bust. But you either get a stud or let him Jimmy Clausen you into Drake Maye or Caleb Williams.
  11. Yeah, I thought there was no chance Fields would be there. Then he was. Then we didn't pick him. And I'm still pissed about it.
  12. It wasn't always like this. Basically just since Tepper. Under Richardson we were never consistent but we were kind of an every other year or every third year type team. We had enough sporadic success to maintain a sense of hope.
  13. It's all about the future. The present is irrelevant. Welcome to Panthers fandom. It's pretty much the same as Jets fandom. We'll get 'em next year... or next decade... maybe.
  14. Let's still lose to make sure we move on. I don't want a moral victory to lead to sticking with Wilks and Darnold. Let's make it clear we still need major organizational changes.
  15. Norman barely played. Darnold played well minus the turnovers. Unfortunately, Sam Darnold turning the ball over is a recurring theme and pretty much what I anticipated would happen as soon as our D and running game couldn't dominate the game. Anytime you're forced to pass with Sam Darnold you're highly likely to lose. That's just the unfortunate reality and it has played out time and time again throughout his career. Great guy. Backup QB.
  16. Bingo. The "how do we know someone else will be better?" argument is just pure fear based and how teams get mired in mediocrity. If you aren't competing for SBs you should be trying to improve, not simply trying not to get worse. I'm not saying fire your coach every time you don't go to the SB, that would be absurd. What I'm saying is that if you don't think your coach can win a SB then you should move on. Yesterday showed me Wilks won't be winning a SB for all the reasons you mentioned.
  17. He lost me yesterday. Taylor and Henderson clearly couldn't handle Mike Evans in man coverage with no over the top help. Holcomb never adjusted to that and Wilks never forced him to. The end result was three go route TD bombs. It's ultimately on the head coach. Especially when the head coach is not only a defensive specialist but a secondary specialist. That's inexcusable and it's a failed audition for getting the interim tag removed.
  18. Yeah, like I said I'd have a lot more sympathy if he was just carving us up all over the field with a variety of routes. That's hard to stop. But when a guy is simply running past your CBs and catching bombs put a fuging safety over the top already. That's not rocket science. That's defensive football 101 and is a big black eye for Wilks who is supposed to not only be a defensive specialist but a secondary specialist.
  19. I just can't see taking him in the top 10. He'd be much more of a potential with our 2nd round pick IMO. That's roughly his value as things currently sit.
  20. But was it all from deep shot 9 routes? That's the thing. That specifically is something relatively easy to negate by rolling a safety over the top. If a guy is carving you up all over the field with a whole route tree that's a lot tougher to deal with.
  21. At least you tried something different. Leaving Evans singled up was begging to lose. Try to find other instances in the NFL where a single receiver has 3 DEEP TDs against single man coverage. It's rare for multiple reasons but one of the key ones is that you're gonna stop leaving that guy on an island because you realize that isn't working.
