I was shocked we beat the Packers. I thought we might lose out from 4-4. Probably gonna go per usual. We're gonna lose a poo ton of games and be looking at a pretty sweet draft spot in December if we can just close the deal but then we'll win a game or two to even fug that up.

Where does Bryce rank on the all-time draft bust list?
LinvilleGorge replied to MRenshaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
Factor in the trade and he's #1. We traded... 2023: #9 and #61 picks 2024: #1 overall 2025: #39 Plus DJ Moore All for a guy who is borderline NFL roster worthy. Were there even worse individual picks? Yeah, I'd say that Jamarcus Russell was worse. Ryan Leaf was worse. But factor in all the assets invested into that pick and it's not even close. The only reason Bryce has piled up all those starts is because of how bitter of a pill it is to swallow that trade being a bust. If Bryce had simply been the #1 overall pick without that massive trade I honestly think we would've moved on this past off-season. Two years had shown you everything you needed to see. -
Bryce's Achilles Heel Is Not What You Think It Is
LinvilleGorge replied to fieryprophet's topic in Carolina Panthers
But, but, but guys... look at these super cherry picked super situational stats! Bryce is the 9th best QB in the league on 2nd and 13 with a 6 point lead so take that! -

Welp. -
I have no strong opinion either way. I mean, for those who are out, do you really expect Tepper to hire anyone better? So far, Canales has probably been his best coaching hire. Granted, that's an extremely low bar to clear but I'm just saying it's not like there's a line of great candidates beating down the door begging to work for Tepper. Going 5-5 with the worst QB play in the league isn't terrible. Now with that said, I expect to start getting the hell beaten out of us now that the Saints have shown what I thought was obvious all along - sell out against the run and stack the box and absolutely force us to have to throw the ball and it basically makes the game unwinnable for a Bryce Young QB'd team.
-
Clausen was basically a slower Bryce Young with decent size. His NFL tool set was trash too.

Bryce Young's average stats over a whole season would be...
LinvilleGorge replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't really buy the whole distraction/we overlooked them, any of that crap. We finally just faced a team that came into the game hellbent on forcing Bryce to beat us. We're gonna stack the box like cordwood no matter what. We're gonna take away the run and we know that might open up opportunities in the passing game but we're just gonna play tight, physical coverage and rely on them not being able to connect on deep passes. I'm just shocked it took until game nine for somebody to do it. -

Sounds entertaining. That beats watching lil Brycey poo. -

Pretty much. Somehow we're both considerably better as a team than I expected and Bryce is considerably worse individually than I expected. I would've never dreamed we could be 5-5 with Bryce being this bad and I would've said Bryce had to be a averaging 200+ yards per game and limiting the turnovers if we were 5-5. -
Looking like Russell Wilson out there. Dude does NOT want to be hit tonight. Don't know if he's dealing with an injury or what but he's definitely flinching and shying away from contact tonight. This is over.

If the Steelers don't score on this drive I'm probably hitting the sack. The Chargers haven't been very good and the Steelers have basically no showed.

Would you trade Derrick Brown to get a top QB prospect?
LinvilleGorge replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, Bryce is clearly better. But they're both hugely limiting factors. Lopez is just hugely limiting at a lower overall level of competition compared to Bryce. -

UNC gave Gio Lopez $4M and at best he's P4 primary backup QB caliber. Guys like Quinn Ewers are the poster children of guys who should stay in school until they're out of eligibility. Good college QBs. Mediocre at best pro prospects. They're simply a lot more valuable to a good P4 program than they are to an NFL team. NFL teams are looking at those types of guys as maybe long-term backups at best. But a guy like that is probably a top 15-20 college QB, basically the equivalent of an NFL mid-level starter. -
The pass before the INT could've easily been a pick. Kinda like the Bryce out route to T-Mac in GB. A lazy, not great throw to a decently covered receiver and a little better break on it by the DB would've probably been a turnover.

This game is fuging terrible.

Who is more ass? A) or B) -
Overall, it's not good. You have the major online betting sites funneling tons of advertising money and the leagues are happy to take it 1) for the direct advertising money and 2) the gambling drives additional viewership increasing possible advertising value. Anytime there's a lot of money being slung around people are going to try to figure out a way to get their piece of that action, legal or not. I don't know what the answer is. I'm not for blanket banning stuff because it generally just leads to shady black market stuff, but seems like it shouldn't be advertised so heavily. Treat the marketing like tobacco marketing. Like yeah, you can go to the store and buy it but you're not gonna be inundated with commercials about it.

Rodgers is 2/4 for 11 yards and a sack for a safety. Herbert is 3/6 for 14 yards and a dropped INT.
-
What in the hell is going on in LA tonight? Herbert and Rodgers are basically trying to out-Bryce one another. Herbert just threw what should've been an easy INT straight into a defender's chest on 3rd down and then Rodgers takes a god awful sack for a safety nearly fumbling in the process. LOL
-
Yeah, there's probably several absolute drubbings ahead of us. We dodged one in GB with the weather conditions limiting the passing game and the Packers just not playing well but I doubt we'll keep getting that lucky. The Pats and Bills games are probably more indicative of likely outcomes against good teams.

Cam and Chad Pennington after their shoulder injuries are about the only ones that come to mind as comparable. -

I think today may have been the media tipping point where they stop trying to pretend like Bryce is going to come around and start acknowledging that he just sucks. We're a .500 team despite trash tier QB play. This isn't a scenario where a QB is being dragged down by an overall terrible situation. This is a scenario where the situation is dragging a boat anchor at the most important position in the sport as far as they possibly can. -
Hes the type of guy we need to be signing as a bridge. Sign a decent journeyman vet, hell maybe even two, and then still keep all options (outside of a ludicrous trade up to #1) on the table too.

Because they're just not playing that well. The class isn't turning out on the field near as well as it looked on paper. If they were playing like guys who would be going in the 1st round they'd probably be declaring. -

That was the story of the '26 class this time last year. It always seems like next year's class is "the one".
