  1. This. All the best young QBs currently in the league all had warts. None were considered slam dunk prospects. Mahomes came from an offensive system that exaggerated stats. Allen couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Burrow was old and a one year wonder. Herbert came from a one read offense and didn't deliver in the clutch. Hurts looked like a guy who needed a position change while at Bama.
  2. Different era of football. They've tweaked the rules a bunch since to benefit offense and all indications are that they'll continue to do that. So you can try to buck the trend and try to build a team built to win in the '80s and '90s or you can see where the NFL is trying to take the sport and build a team built to score.
  3. I couldn't possibly care less about the halftime performance. Honestly, I think Prince was probably the last one I actually watched and I honestly can't name many other halftime performers. I can't tell you off the top of my head who was last year's performer and this time next year I won't be able to tell you this year's was Rianna's. I'm here for a football game, not the show. The show is for all the folks watching who don't watch football otherwise and are just tuning in for the spectacle of the event.
  4. Another clear sign you're getting old. Super Bowl halftime performers who have had a career that's relevant during your lifetime.
  5. It didn't decide the game but it did guarantee that Philly would have no time to potentially answer which they would have minus the penalty. They were going to get the ball back down three with about 1:45 to go.
  6. Yeah, no Lamar is a former MVP but there's no getting around the reality that he has been a bad playoff QB. It's not that his team is losing despite a heroic effort from him. His team has lost those games in large part to him being bad in those games.
  7. Gotta love intra-divisional fan trolling.
  8. Yeah, he's not a good bridge option. If you want to make things work with Carr you're going to have to commit to him. If you sign Carr then turn around and draft a QB in the 1st he's gonna go fuging ballistic. I think Tepper is likely feeling similarly to the fanbase right now - sick and tired of the retread vet carousel. We're actually in a situation now where that approach might be setup for success but the willingness might be gone from having been burnt by bringing in the wrong guys at the wrong time. We haven't tried a Carr level vet in a situation where we've had a good roster and a good staff but trying lower level vets with worse rosters and worse staffs has left us all weary and just looking for a different approach altogether.
  9. Call the game in the last two minutes like you've been calling it for the previous 58 minutes. They'd been letting those types of plays go all night so continue to let them go. The refs kinda set the tone for how a game is going to be played early on with how they officiate the close judgement calls. Is it being called tight or are they letting them play? The players get a feel for that tone and adjust accordingly. When the refs suddenly change the tone mid-game or even worse in crunch time at the end everyone feels cheated. There was one defensive holding penalty called all night long and it came in the final two minutes on crucial third down and it was ticky tack. The same type of stuff they'd been letting go all night. That's just not fair officiating from the perspective of a player. You've set the tone for how you're going to officiate this game and in the biggest moment you completely break from that norm and throw the type of flag you haven't been throwing all game.
  10. It's not like anyone would notice someone slipping in a soccer game anyway with all the flopping going on.
  11. When he pulled that very obvious dick swinging ego move that's went from being a big Gettleman fan to basically saying fug this guy.
  12. I think they had this guy managing the turf for the field they played on tonight
  13. If you wanna relive it you can watch the opening night of the 2016 season too. The NFL is quite obviously very okay with looking the other way on trash officiating as long as it goes the way they'd prefer.
  14. They were asked to crack down on blows to the head of the QB in 2015 and we all watched SB50....
  15. I've always liked Bradyberry and watching us let him walk was almost as much of a gut punch for me as when we yanked the tag out from under Norman.
  16. Nobody here cares about Lebron's whiny ass.
  17. Trask competing with Corral for what exactly? Because if it's for starting QB... oh wee mayne. Top 10 pick incoming again.
  18. Uncatchable doesn't matter with holding. The call was trash but that's not a valid criticism here.
  19. I wanted the Chiefs to win but damn... the way this game wrapped up really out a huge damper on what was one of the best SBs in years. fuging refs, man... And the fugers are NEVER held accountable. They'll defend that call in technicality ignoring that had been going uncalled all night long.
  20. Trash officiating has to get addressed. I don't know if it's these 60"+ HDTVs with replays from every angle or what, but it seems so much worse in every sport I follow. I fuging HATE seeing great games basically get decided by a referee with a phantom call or a no call on an obvious foul.
  21. That's not a penalty. Sorry, that's trash. Yeah, Bradyberry got away with one on 3rdbdown early but that was Ricky tacky. I fuging hate seeing a GREAT game all but ended by a very questionable call.
  22. fug running this ball. You gotta try to get to these sticks.
  23. Chiefs need to start playing stall ball here. Make the Eagles use those timeouts.
  24. LOL! Dude has a weird gait even when healthy. Like a proud independent woman who don't need no man.
