If your OL is running something really good or really bad is happening.

It's been the same story for two years. This team can beat anyone in the country on any given night. They can also lose to anyone in the country on any given night. Do the bad shots this "offense" creates fall or not? Nothing changes except the shots falling or not.

Rumor: The Prodigal Son And The Road Home
LinvilleGorge replied to rippadonn's topic in Carolina Panthers
Barely over 3000 yards and 15 TDs in today's NFL means you should be looking HARD for an upgrade at QB, NOT looking to pay that guy $40M+ per year. -
Hopefully there are some future Panthers working out today. But hopefully they're day three picks. I'm honestly not looking at OL or RB in the top three rounds this year barring some unbelievable value available (and assuming Bozeman is re-signed).

Jeremiah on Stroud. Don't overlook the compliment.

Kirk Cousins on steroids with the right mentality would be a HOF QB though. -
100%. You aren't keeping good assistant coaches for long. They'll get promotions elsewhere if things go well.

The way we've assembled this staff certainly screams that we're taking a swing at a top QB in the draft. I don't know why you'd assemble a staff chock full of QB coaches of you weren't. Is Derek Carr really going to do much more continued development at 32? Stafford didn't win a Super Bowl in L.A. because of some big leap in development. He won a Super Bowl in L.A. because of a big leap in the talent around him.

If you believe the 204 weight, Russell Wilson is basically that same size. If you want to call Kyler Murray successful, them so is he. I just find that 204 weight highly suspect. Dude's eyeballs were probably floating and I hope someone patted him down.

The Bucs are certainly setup for a solid tanking. Hopefully the pull a Panthers and manage to set themselves up to win just enough games to be out of reach.

I think Stroud's performance against UGA and his throwing at the Combine have certainly created a conversation. It definitely wouldn't surprise me if some NFL teams had him #1.
-
I'm not saying he's making the decision himself. I'm saying he's conducting himself as if he's a lock to go #1. Yeah, he has an agent and other handlers in his ear telling him how to navigate this process. Everyone realizes that.
-
He's conducting himself as of he's a lock to go #1. Hell, who knows? Maybe he is.
-
Yeah, if you think a guy is a franchise QB giving up next year's first isn't THAT bad. It's when we start talking about giving up multiple future firsts that I start getting uncomfortable.
-
It didn't work for Allen as a rookie. If we draft a QB and he plays like Allen did as a rookie people are gonna be calling him a bust and for Tepper to clean house.
-
Don't put them on too high of a pedestal. They get it wrong all the time.

This would be my biggest concern about trading up for Richardson. When you trade up for a guy there would be tremendous pressure to start him immediately. I'm not certain that's a good thing for AR.

I mean, OSU thought that Dwayne Haskins was better than Joe Burrow so there's that to consider too. But yeah, honestly to be fair junior Justin Fields was almost certainly a better option for OSU than true freshman CJ Stroud.
