  1. Already talked about it. Comparing a stress reaction in the foot to an ACL is like comparing a dinged door to a totalled car.
  2. The Brooks pick was just so dumb. Trading up in the 2nd to draft a RB coming off of a major injury? Just DUMB. As for Horn, I don't recall any injury concerns for him coming into the draft.
  3. There's no crystal ball about any of this stuff. Plenty of guys with no track record of injury turn to glass in the NFL. But if you draft a guy knowing he's dealing with an injury going into it and he might miss a little time it's not like you have a panic attack when he's not on the field week one. LOL I'm generally not a big fan of drafting injured players but this just isn't one that scares me. Which is why he's still almost certainly gone before #8 anyway.
  4. There's a reason why Burns was a mid-1st round pick instead of a top 5 lock like Carter. It's because Burns sucked at everything except being faster around the corner than the OT in front of him. He still does. He's really good at the trick tht gets you paid and there were still enough concerns on his overall game for him to fall to the middle of the first. Carter is honestly better at everything coming out of college.
  5. Carter is way more well rounded than Burns ever was. Burns was and is a great speed rusher and he's a good pursuit run defender. But honestly he's subpar everywhere else. Carter has almost as many solo tackles in his college career as Burns had combined tackles.
  6. I hate to break it to the folks stressing about a guy who almost certainly won't be there at #8 potentially not being ready by week 1 but what the fug does it matter? Y'all expecting to win the Super Bowl next year or something? What would a rookie missing a few weeks matter?
  7. Reddick was a great player after the Cardinals finally put him in a pass rushing role instead of trying to force a pass rusher to be a drop back LB. They bought a thoroughbred and tried to turn it into a plow horse.
  8. Seems about right. I mean, we've been putrid ass during the Tepper era.
  9. Don't be shocked if that changes after the draft. Of course he's not having surgery before the draft.
  10. Even if he has surgery he won't be sitting a year. The poster who said that is just wildly incorrect.
  11. ACL recovery has come a long way in recent decades but it's still a very major injury. A stress fracture and a sore shoulder aren't really comparable to a popped ACL.
  12. Seems optimistic but maybe. If that's the prevailing view it's unlikely to impact his draft position much if at all.
  13. To get that type of talent at #8 you need an extenuating circumstance. That's how Star fell to us. The "heart issue" scared some teams off. This isn't an ACL or an Achilles. But potentially missing camp and getting off to a slow start could potentially move some teams off of him.
  14. Hell no. For the first time since he initially took the field as a rookie I'm legitimately excited to see him and somewhat hopeful he may actually pan out. But hopeful enough to give him a nearly $100M contract? Hell no! And honestly, if he and his camp were willing to sign it that would be a massive red flag. That would pretty much tell you that they think they caught lightning in a bottle late last season and his value is maxed out.
  15. Virtually no chance of that. It's generally a 3-4 month process if surgery is required. Half of that if surgery is deemed unnecessary. I doubt he'll get surgery before the draft but if a team that drafted him deemed surgery was necessary he'd probably have it shortly after the draft. That would make his expected return sometime around mid-August to mid-September so he'd definitely miss all off-season activities and most of not all of training camp. I'd probably expect him to start out on the PUP list while he gets up to speed and be active starting game 5. If surgery is deemed unnecessary he'd be ready for camp.
  16. https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/27/entertainment/gene-hackman-betsy-arakawa-death/index.html Damn. They're saying no foul play expected. Maybe a gas leak or something along those lines? Either way... sad.

  18. If we're drafting a RB at #8 overall after both paying Chuba and trading up to draft a RB in the 2nd last year then the entire front office needs to get fired on the spot.
  19. Oh fug. We beat four bad teams in a row and we do this... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6159122/2025/02/25/unc-hubert-davis-contract-extension/ Hubert is now signed through 2030. I sincerely hope this works out and he becomes a great coach but the guy's seat should've been warming up. An extension during a bad season after a disappointing finish last year is just completely unwarranted at this point. *Edited to clarify that it was actually signed back in December, we have just had such a disappointing season that we had to wait until we could string together a few Ws for them to feel comfortably announcing it to the public. Oh wee mayne...
  20. Minter was a good SS. He wasn't a FS even though sometimes we played him there.
