  1. It was me. He had the slowest average time to throw among all P5 QBs last year. He would've been at the bottom of the list in the NFL too. I bet he's at or hear the bottom again this year. Maybe he can, maybe he can't but he should've been working on that this past off-season because it's not going to be easy to speed it up in the NFL while in a more complex offense facing more complex defenses.
  2. Honestly the way I see it there seems to be a lot of folks who really bristle at encountering any differing opinion. When they do, that's all they can focus on. The thread is derailed. OMG, someone dared voice a differing opinion. I'm appalled. Then they complain for pages on end about how the thread has been derailed.... while actually actively derailing the thread. Newsflash, but it's possible for two reasonable people to watch the same exact thing and come away with differing opinions. And that's okay. What would be the point of a discussion if everyone agreed?
  3. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is a helluva prospect. He checks a LOT of boxes. But slow processing speed will likely prove to be an Achilles heel if he can't speed it up.
  4. I really think some of the shine is going to come off of Williams when people stop watching him as a college QB and actually start evaluating him as an NFL prospect. Everything happens too slow for him after the snap. He just doesn't process quickly enough. I thought it might have just been a luxury of opportunity but the last two games suggest he can't speed it up even when he needs to. Maybe getting into the NFL and focusing heavily in that will help him but if he can't speed it up significantly it ain't gonna translate. You can't hold the ball as long as he does in the NFL.
  5. I very seriously doubt he would've gone ahead of Lawrence. Possibly Burrow due to the age and one year wonder concern. But Lawrence was nearly universally considered the best QB prospect since Luck.
  6. I still gotta admit that I'm pretty shocked at how hard Russell Wilson fell off. The Seahawks knew it and fleeced the hell out of the Broncos.
  7. Fitts drafting has been complete poo. Sure doesn't seem like it was just a Rhule problem like so many wanted to cling to. Hell, I didn't subscribe to that thought process but I hoped I was wrong. I absolutely wanted Fitts to follow Rhule out the door.
  8. Maye had said himself that it's no certainty that he enters the draft this year. Now with that said, I can say with knowledge that folks I know with legit contacts within the program fully expect him to enter the draft. But seriously... how many QBs are gonna have to bust in Chicago for prospects to actively start avoiding ending up in Chicago? There's just too many at this point to blame it on poor talent evaluation. Out of sheer dumb luck they would've hit gold or at least silver or bronze by now.
  9. The vote tally is 25 yes, 23 no. I'm leaning toward creating a pinned thread to give folks a place where they can share positive vibes. The board is largely negative right now which can hardly be considered surprising when we're 0-6 and are well on our way toward our 6th consecutive losing season. But with that largely negative vibe it means the folks who want to try to remain positive are going to get overshadowed and that creates even more frustration. I sincerely think there should be a place in the forum for those vibes to be protected. Hell, I think it would be good for all of us.
  10. He looked terrible against Arizona too. What's most alarming is he looked terrible against two completely different approaches. Arizona basically didn't rush. They focused on keeping him in the pocket and dropping as many as possible into coverage. Williams couldn't throw the ball against this defense but it allowed him to do just enough with his legs to get the W. Notre Dame blitzed him and heated him up and he turned the ball over in droves.
  11. Yeah, it was already in it's way out but that hit was the end.
  12. Bruh, you've looked like poo your last two games. Might wanna just focus on that right now.
  13. Thread title should've read "Could Bryce Young throw deep in college?"
  14. Honestly I'd do it. The Burns deal, not the Jeudy deal. I'd offer an autographed photo of this for Jeudy:
  15. The scheme just doesn't fit his strengths at all. Honestly not Moton's either but I think his experience is able to carry him a little better.
  16. Not sure if there's anything to it. Evidently they really liked him in the draft but for all we know they liked him in the draft but they may have liked him as a LB for all we know. I think it's just connecting dots between their biggest need (safety), us not really using Chinn, and them having liked him in the draft. I just don't think Chinn fits their defense as a safety. They generally play two high safeties.
  17. I was gonna go to the PSL exchange just out of curiosity to see how little they were selling for but they force you to make an account. Somehow Tepper's soccer team got a hold of my email and they spam the poo out of me. I certainly don't want to get on his PSL spam list just to get a glance out of morbid curiosity.
  18. Can't give up a "pressure" even when the edge rusher blows your doors off if the OG beside you whiffs too and the DT has the shorter path to the QB. First man there gets the whole credit.
  19. I wonder what it looks like if Cam doesn't take that hit from Watt. He was getting the ball out much quicker in Norv's offense and showing an ability to hit shorter throws like he never had before. He completed 68% of his attempts that season. We were 6-2 going into that Steelers game and Cam had thrown 15 TDs to just 4 INTs and was playing his best ball since 2015. Then that hit knocked the wheels off his career and our franchise.
  20. I've just been around football long enough to not get impressed by cliche word salad. That was a classic "if you can't dazzle them with brilliance try to baffle them with bullshit" attempt.
  21. They retained Campen as the OL coach. I'm not sure if he has much experience coaching zone schemes or not but I'm surprised that when he learned that's what they were gonna be running he wasn't like, "Uh... that ain't gonna work with our personnel."
  22. We have an OL built for power concepts and an offense that runs primarily finesse concepts. This is not an OL built to zone block but that's what we ask them to do. The Broncos under Shanahan always had a great zone blocking OL. They generally consist of smaller, quicker OL. They rarely had a starter much over 300 pounds.
  23. It was just some of the most nonsensical, try hard word salad I've read in quite awhile.
