  1. Doesn't Reich generally prefer bigger WRs? Flowers and Downs might end up being the two best NFL WRrs in this class but they also might not have the size Reich looks for.
  2. Honestly, this. It's why I'm not twisting myself up in these Young vs. Stroud, but maybe Richardson round and round arguments. Whoever these guys end up picking, let's go.
  3. Your sarcasm detector is completely useless.
  4. I'm just glad we finally bit the bullet and understood that if you get spurned by the guys you actually want in FA, settling for second and third tier guys isn't a path to success. You gotta bite the bullet and draft a guy.
  5. We've sucked for years. Until we reverse that trend we'll continue to be afterthoughts.
  6. We generally go SC for the beach. We generally do two a year. We'll do an Edisto trip so that we can do a day trip to Charleston. My wife went to CofC and we lived on Queen Street so it's nice to go back to the old stomping grounds. Then we'll do a trip down to Hunting Island which is definitely my favorite. It's just one island south of Edisto and just a few nautical miles away but they're not close if you're driving.
  7. Luvu is a 3-4 edge rusher. I still won't be shocked to see Chinn traded. He's a helluva talent but he just doesn't fit what these defensive coaches are talking about running. He's a prototype cover 3 strong safety. If we want to run a 3-4 front with two deep safeties Chinn just doesn't fit.
  8. It just blows my mind how many elite college games are played in the 50s and 60s these days. These kids can't shoot but everyone wants to play like Golden State. If someone wanted to show up and play old school inside out basketball and actually run a legit offense the NCAA is for the taking.
  9. Hubert is always gonna have a short bench until he learns how to use his bench. He had a decent bench this year and failed to use it and that's why all these dudes bailed.
  10. Definitely agree with this. It's nice to actually have hope again
  11. They're rooting for us to suck. Same as I would be for them if we were holding future picks of theirs.
  12. Yeah, I'm a mountain guy through and through. I like the beach. In spurts. After 3-4 days though I'm ready to head for the hills again.
  13. Honestly, I think we're pretty well setup to just go BPA. Outside of double dipping at QB or taking a kicker or punter not much else would shock me at #39.
  14. He's on a one year prove it deal. He's literally betting his career on A) staying healthy and B) the success of a rookie QB. I'm sure Reich sold him on his offense and Chark's role in it. Chark had been pretty vocal about wanting to stay with the Lions. I'm betting we simply offered substantially more $$$.
  15. I'll be thrilled if Chark finally stays healthy and proves that he can be elite but the he's here because the Lions gave up on waiting for that.
  16. Wentz' best was quite a bit better than Cutler though. I agree that Cutler is probably his ceiling. Darnold is his floor. He just reminds me a LOT of Sam Darnold.
  17. We'll see. "Winning" the off-season oftentimes doesn't translate to winning on the field. I'm hopeful but I'm not crowning anybody just yet. It all ultimately comes down to how well this QB selection pans out. These guys have hitched their wagon to this pick with that trade.
  18. There's probably a minimum post count to be able to PM. We already know you're @mrcompletely11. Just cyberstalking @Verge
  19. I can. Thielen is a 33 year old short term stopgap. Chark is an oft-injured talented guy on a one year prove it deal. Hurst is knocking on the door of 30 and can easily be cut after two seasons. These FA signings are about short-term bandaids. The draft is about long-term solutions. I would imagine that the offensive skill positions are very much on the table at #39.
  20. We definitely needed another thread for people to argue about Young vs. Stroud. Thank you for addressing this need.
  21. We should be setup to be able to go straight BPA in the draft after we pick our QB.
  22. Yeah, injury situations are just different. The only way I consider a guy a bust due to injury is if he had major injury red flags coming into the draft. I still don't fault the player for it but in those circumstances you do have to fault the GM/team for it.
