I don't know if they will be but they need to be. This isn't a Cam with Jimmy Clausen behind him situation. Minshew is a decent vet. Let him hold down the fort for a little while versus putting a raw prospect out there before he's ready.

Minshew looking GOOD. Unless AR develops really quickly Minshew should be the week one starter. Plus, he's the type of QB my boy Josh Downs can do some real damage with.

Bingo. Gotta remember, Cam had a 42% completion percentage in his first preseason. Then started off his career with back to back 400 yard games. I don't care about the results in preseason. I care about how the guy looks. Does he look like he belongs? Richardson looks like he belongs.

I don't care about the rating. I care about the eye test in preseason. I expect a raw prospect like AR to be up and down at this point. I just want to see some ups.

Yeah, he'll probably never be as good as Cam but I think he can still be really damn good. He's boom or bust IMO. He'll either be damn good or won't sign a second contract.

I wouldn't call Richardson struggling. So far so good I'd say. He looks like he belongs. That's what you're looking for in a first preseason game for a raw athletic prospect. Stroud's INT was awful but he played so little I don't know what to make of that. Levis looks as expected IMO. I just don't think he's an NFL QB.

Bears gotta be thrilled though. A huge focus of theirs this off-season was getting Fields help and here he has 120+ yards and 2 TDs and hasn't had to do much of anything. You know Fields can do some amazing things. Now you wanna see some guys around him who can also do some amazing things. Success so far.

Richardson sails another one. So reminiscent of early Cam. He's gonna make some jaw dropping plays but occasionally he's gonna sail an easy one. I hope they can help him clean up his footwork. It's the same thing Cam did. He'll just rely on his arm instead of bringing his lower body with him.

Richardson with a nice run around the edge on a zone read that's coming back due to a hold.

Richardson with two good throws back to back. Nice completion down the middle then a nice throw on an out that drew a DPI. Nice throw on a corner route there that got dropped. Same receiver that got bailed out by the DPI. That's basically back to back drops for #14. Richardson has to be having flashbacks to Florida seeing that.

I won't be. I hated having to include him in the deal but I wish him nothing but the best. Not like he was trying to force his way out of Carolina or anything like that.

Bears fans have to be thrill right now. After the 62 yard Moore TD, they get a 56 yard TD from a screen to a RB. Maybe Fields won't have to be their entire offense this year. Kinda baffled that the announcers can't realize that was a screen to the RB though. They're acting like it was a bail out and a check down but that wall of OL out front says otherwise.

Definitely gonna be interesting to watch.l since I was stumping hard for us to draft Fields. Now they have Fields and our former #1 WR.

Pulling the rookie immediately after a mistake is just such a bad look. Even if the plan was only to play him a certain number of drives you gotta throw that out the window and give him another drive and a chance to bounce back.

Mahomes is a cheat code. The guy gets away with everything you coach a QB not to do. He's definitely not a guy you tell kids to watch as a coach. Listen, you can't do that. Pretty much no one else can do that. Maybe watch Kirk Cousins.

Richardson looked good at first. Nice first throw laser for about 8 on a good read. Second pass was a screen. Third pass he got a little pressure and threw off his back foot and sailed it badly for an INT. He looks like he belongs physically but that third throw shows why he's a development prospect that they're going to have to have patience with.

The kind that are gonna make your ceiling contractor cuss and lead a "fug this" add on cost. There are all kinds of 2x2 or 2x4 drop in lights that are a helluva lot simpler to deal with.

Definitely gonna tune in to check out Richardson.

After seeing how Wilson has looked without Pete Carroll and how Geno Smith looked with Pete Carroll, I'm starting to think that it's largely Pete Carroll. Without Carroll, Wilson looked a lot like Geno Smith and with Carroll, Geno Smith looked a lot like Russell Wilson.

I can't ever recall an elite QB falling off as hard as Wilson has while still relatively young and no major injury involved. It's just weird. Man, the Seahawks played their cards right on that one. Gotta give them credit for that.

Howell looked GOOD. That Commanders OL is a problem though. 9/12 for 77 yards and a TD. Two of the incompletions were throwaways. Plus a scramble for a 1st on 3rd and long.
