  1. I never have any clue what to expect out of a UNC football season. We have a really good QB. Beyond that? Anyone's guess is as good as mine.
  2. I said it when we traded for Darnold. You can't fix panic.
  3. I think they're both better prospects than Young but that doesn't make them generational talents.
  4. Cam was a generational talent. I don't think Maye is on that level. He didn't react well last year when the staff made him dial it back with the running. His play really took a down turn. He needs to stop with the Superman diving but the staff needs to turn him loose and just let him go. Howell did better tailoring his play to what he was told to do. Hell, most UNC fans had no idea he could run until his final college season because the coaches specifically told him not to run prior to that because they didn't trust the depth behind him.
  5. I doubt you could find a single college football analyst or NFL scout who would try to argue there's more offensive talent on the UNC roster. So is that "making excuses" or is it just being honest and realistic?
  6. UNC has had elite offenses and elite defenses but it feels like a law of the universe that when we have an elite O or D it has to be paired with an all-time atrocious unit on the other side of the ball. We could really do some damage with just a middle of the pack average defense.
  7. If I was betting on who will have the best year in college football I'd bet on Caleb. But that doesn't mean he's the most talented, I think he's on the better offensive roster.
  8. Take Howell and Maye off of the last two UNC rosters and we're sub-.500. We have been winning games we shouldn't be expected to win. Take Howell/Maye and Downs off of the last two rosters and it probably looks Bunting era bad.
  9. I don't think UNC is beating Clemson even with prime Cam Newton. There's just an enormous gulf of talent. Caleb has proven he cal play great in two conferences where he's on the best roster in the conference. Big difference.
  10. Clemson's backups could probably win the conference. It just is what it is. In terms of overall roster talent they're just a lot better than everyone else.
  11. Our defense was atrocious last year and the loss of Josh Downs at WR is pretty significant. Put Maye on USC and there's no debate over who's the best QB in college football.
  12. That clip of him berating one of his HS WR teammates he just came across as the cockiest arrogant dickhead imaginable. I hope he's grown from that. Maybe the experience of getting benched at OU and having to transfer to SCar and not exactly setting the world on fire there has brought with it a dose of humility.
  13. At this point you have to change the name of the conference. You can't have an Atlantic Coast Conference with two California teams and a Texas team. That just doesn't make any sense. Keep the ACC moniker if you want. Change the name to America Collegiate Conference or whatever you want but it can't be the Atlantic Coast Conference anymore.
  14. I honestly think that Rhule's "scruffy" look appealed to Tepper. Hey, Belichick dresses like a bum maybe if I hire someone who dresses like a bum too he'll be a good coach! Now with that said, I think formal wear is one of the dumber things about human society. Like look at me, you know that I'm a super serious person because why else would I be wearing this uncomfortable ridiculous looking thing around my neck and wearing pants and a jacket in 90 degree heat? Dumb.
  15. Yeah, he's shown he can get programs out of the gutter and back to respectability. He hasn't shown that he can actually take the next step and actually start beating good teams and build an actual contender at the national level.
  16. Honestly, I think Rhule will probably be fine at Nebraska. He's just far better suited for the college game. I just don't think he's going to bring them back to national prominence. You have to score in today's game. Even Saban realized that and quit it with his old school three yards and a cloud of dust offense with smothering defense approach.
  17. That Minnesota QB was making some nice plays but starting feeling himself a little and throws the redzone pick.
  18. Well, the dumb mistake didn't cost them. Nebraska goes 3 and out after the gift and will start on the 18 after the punt. They were going to be on the 19 without the roughing penalty.
  19. Oof. 4th and 22 and you rough the punter. Wow Minnesota.
  20. How boring is Nebraska? So boring that 92k+ people showed up to watch volleyball.
  21. That guy was a baller at UVA. Like a poor man's Max Duggan.
  22. Running directly into a wall of humanity is an interesting philosophy for a kick returner.
  23. What a poo show of a play that was and it ends in a TD
  24. There should be a stipulation that if you don't qualify for a conference championship game then by rule you can't qualify for the playoffs.
