A wild statement for a guy who won an MVP with Ted Ginn Jr. as his #1 WR. I mean, just listen to Greg Olsen. Greg very openly gives Cam a TON of credit for how his career played out.

Bryce's arm strength is absolutely subpar at the NFL level. How many current NFL QBs can you honestly name with a weaker arm? When I hear "good" I'm thinking at least above average. That's absolutely not the case. Honestly, the rosiest argument for Bryce's arm strength at the NFL level is arguing that it's manageable. It's always going to be a limiting factor of his game. I encourage people to watch other games. It's hard to watch the opposing team objectively so turn on a game where you have no rooting interest and just watch throws being made that Bryce either can't reliably make or flat out can't even attempt.

You clearly seem unbothered. LOL

I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. If you drop back like that in the NFL on a regular basis you're basically on your own. Your OL can't do a whole lot for you. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of generating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.

cam Newton makes his return to Madden football
LinvilleGorge replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks. -

Yeah, I've always just been an offline franchise mode type of guy and EA just doesn't care at all about people like me anymore because there's no ongoing revenue stream for them out of people like me. I honestly play the older games more simply because the offline franchise mode was better in those games. From a pure business model perspective I completely get it. But it just sucks for people like me who have no interest in the online stuff and just fire the game up every now and then, usually to get my off-season football fix. I'd be more than happy to give them $60 every year for a game with good offline franchise mode updated but minus that I'll just keep playing the old games and buy last year's game at a discount every two or three years to give a "new" one a shot. -
Keyboard warriors says the person crashing out on Facebook over a little sign and now crashing out on the Huddle because people are pointing out that crashing out over a little sign is pretty dumb. LOL All of this over me saying you act cringy and then here you come and prove me right. A long-term Panthers fan and parent should have developed thicker skin than this. And yeah, I have kids hence why I'm more up to speed on kid slang than I otherwise would be. Although honestly "cringe" is pretty much common vernacular at this point. Not exactly edgy.

Sorry I hurt your feelings. Toughen up. There's a lot more Tepper misery to suffer through yet. LOL

If Bryce was a good QB overall playing well this would be funny. As is, it's not something I get riled up about. As much as I don't want Bryce as our starting QB he really does come across as a genuinely good dude. When I first saw this clip I assumed Bryce was throwing it away but seeing that downfield camera able looking back at him the way he's watching the ball with anticipation I honestly think it was probably just an atrocious attempt at a back shoulder throw. He was watching that ball like he expected a play to be made on it, not with the disinterest of a ball intentionally thrown away.

I feel like that if we ever finally win a SB that I'll be able to go back and enjoy '03 and '15 a lot more. It just feels like winning the lottery is more likely than us winning a SB and I didn't even buy a ticket. -
This is comical. Yeah, the "physics" do change in that the pocket is usually muddier, the receivers aren't as wide open, and the defenders close a lot faster both in the pass rush and in coverage on the back end. Bryce absolutely did not have one of the best deep balls in college. Go back and look at the actual play again not just star sheets. You'll see punt balls thrown up to wide open receivers making adjustments to go get the ball or stand around and wait for it to get there. Several of us on here pointed all of these things out leading up to the draft but we're laughed off as haters and told that *scoff*, yeah you guys are seeing something that all the football experts out there can't see? Yeah, right. It was all right there if you watched his college play as it translated to the next level. All the red flags we've seen show up were readily visible.

Seems that I remember some people saying Devin Lloyd was trash
LinvilleGorge replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was a disappointing 1st rounder, hence why his option wasn't picked up. That's the was the Jags' opinion who are more familiar with him as an NFL player than any other organization. -
If you had the Ravens being 1-4 and the Chiefs 2-3 with the the Colts and Jags being 4-1 good for y... you're a fuging liar. LOL

LOL

Taking 7 seconds on the return just to get it called back due to holding makes this very tough.
-
Well, I guess it's not over yet with 23 seconds and KC having all three timeouts and only needing a FG to tie.
-
LOLOLOLOL What a poo show of a play that ends up in a game winning TD.
-
They finally don't go on the first hit after "we're good" and they get a delay of game. LOL
-
The Jags are giving away their snap. Trevor Lawrence says "we're good" to let the line know they're set and he's done calling adjustments and then they go on the next sound. There's a reason why they're struggling to protect. All the barking means nothing until he specifically says "we're good" then the next "hut" is the snap every time.

Every iffy call has gone the way of the Chiefs tonight, per usual. They had a TD earlier tonight that looked like obvious offensive pass interference and the flag was throw but picked up.

To be fair, not many 27 year old fourth year players have huge breakout seasons. Most of those guys are who they are at that point. It's surprising when it happens for a reason. -

What we have is ass. What Lloyd was prior to this year was meh. Big difference. -
Uncalled defensive pass interference. WR just got straight up took out.

He's been pretty meh up until this year but yeah he sure is balling out this year. Good for him.
