  1. They're on the QB struggle bus Mt. Rushmore along with the Bears, Browns, and... hmmm... who would be #4... maybe the Lions? I mean, they did have Stafford but they never accomplished anything with him and then he immediately won a SB as soon as he got traded. LOL
  2. It's honestly not that hard to convince me that Joe Burrow might actually be the best QB in the league he just plays for the Bengals. What Mahomes experienced in the SB Joe Burrow calls just another Sunday. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19p8H59Dbg/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
  3. So was Matt Kalil. At least that was the narrative heading into the draft.
  4. If there's one thing for sure about the draft it's that there's no such thing as a sure thing. Unless we're planning on doing something else with Icky I'd be fielding calls to move off of that pick.
  5. No. fug no. Garrett is a STUD but we just have way too many roster holes in large part because of another massive draft capital trade we made. We'd have half a decade of premium draft picks tied up in two players.
  6. If Carter and Graham are gone and you don't think T-Mac is a top shelf #1 then I hope we listen hard if the phone is ringing.
  7. A long way to go until draft day. All these "big boards" will change a lot as the media guys get more info leaked from actual scouts.

  9. You have your 15 minutes or whatever on the clock and there's no bonus points for picking early in the clock. If the phones are ringing with offers there's no reason not to hear them out.
  10. Yeah, I do that poo sometimes. I'm fuging awful with names. It's some sort of mental block or something.
  11. If all this smoke around Jalo. walker prices accurate (and smoke around Panthers 1st round draft interests in recent years has been VERY accurate), I sure hope we see him as more of a Micah Parsons type vs. a drop back LB.
  12. That was honestly a big part of Mike Williams' gaudy stats his final year. Johnny Football back there doing Johnny Football things running around like a madman extending plays and turning practically every passing play into a scramble drill. Good luck covering Mike Williams with college DBs in that situation.
  13. Poor QB play and obviously being by far and away his team's offensive #1 threat definitely meant good opposing defenses could dedicate a lot of resources towards him. Honestly, I'm not even stumping for drafting the guy. I'm just saying he's a significantly better prospect than the Drake London comp. If you want to say he's lesser than Mike Williams, I'm cool with that. Honestly, yeah I'd have him ranked below him as a prospect myself. I just think he's closer to Williams as a prospect than London.
  14. That's an insult to Matt Doherty. At least he recruited the foundation of Roy Williams' first championship team.
  15. I'll bet everything I own and max out my credit borrowing to bet everything I can scrape together against that.
  16. I mean, we have just been drafting terribly for years no matter what we do. But as long as you're in the job you gotta do what you see as the best path forward.
  17. You can't look at it in a vacuum. Every team is going to have different draft boards laid out based on their prospect evaluations, needs, and the way they perceive prospects fitting into what they're looking for schematically. No team is looking to move down if they perceive great value on the board but oftentimes the perceived value on the board is different between teams and that's when you see trades happen. Maybe somewhere in the middle of the 2nd round there's a team that will view the board and not see great value there for them and they don't see a huge drop off in talent moving down to #57 to pick up an extra mid-round pick or two while on our board we have a prospect circled that just glaringly shouldn't still be on the board per our evaluation and prospect rankings. That's when trades happen. It's all situational.
  18. I see a lot of people making the T-Mac to Drake London comp but... IMO, Mike Evans is the comp. Stats never tell a full story but my point is that Evans and T-Mac were DOMINANT college WRs. London was a good college WR that got over drafted in an overall way over-hyped WR draft class.
  19. I think I was at the game when they rolled that out for the first time. Everyone in the stadium was just kinda bewildered. It was uncomfortable. Then it was like a collective understanding to like... okay, moving on. We're just going to continue on as if that never happened. LOL
  20. I just want an elite prospect at #8. Lord knows we have plenty of holes to fill on this roster. We shouldn't feel pressured to force a pick at any particular position or even one particular side of the ball. The only good thing about having a roster with a lot of holes is that come draft time you should feel completely free to simply take the best player on the board pick after pick after pick. Honestly, Carter would be #1 on my list at #8 and Mason Graham probably my #2. If both of those guys are gone which seems decently likely it's not terribly difficult to convince me that T-Mac should be #3 on my list. Though honestly I probably have Malaki Starks there personally at the moment.
  21. You're not going to be able to package 4ths and 5ths to get 2nd. The move I think we make is somewhere between #8 and #57. I don't think we sit there and watch 49 quality prospects come off the board with five picks in the 4th and 5th in our back pockets. I think we build a package with #57 to move up in the 2nd.
  22. We have three 4ths and two 5ths. I don't think we make five picks on the 4th and 5th rounds. I think we package some picks to move up. Yeah, we need bodies but when you get past the 3rd round you're basically throwing darts at the board. Your odds of finding quality players is dropping dramatically. Yeah, we all know great players get drafted in the mid to late rounds and even go undrafted, I'm just talking about playing the odds.
  23. Imagine if the Bucs had that mentality and passed on Mike Evans to take Brandin Cooks because 4.33 sure is a lot faster than 4.53.
  24. Which is why Hubert has to go. If it wasn't for a fluke hot streak getting a #8 seed to the title game in year one there would be literally no one still holding out any hope for this guy. He's been awful and it's trending downward.
  25. Basketball is different. Mediocrity is the norm for Carolina football.
