Well, I'll be damned. Good call bro. 75 yards up the creek from the house. A big chunk of the creek bank let go and slid off into the creek. It looked like maybe 6-8 feet of dirt on top of bedrock and once saturated it basically slid off of the bedrock like a playground slide. I'll post up pics when I can upload.

Yeah, the more I read about it that's what this is about. Doesn't sound like they're expecting a catastrophic failure, just that water will overflow which it's already doing. Yeah, that's a disaster in and if itself but the media has to get a hold of itself and start acting more responsibly. This hyperbolic bullshit has destroyed their credibility.

I just need to confirm that the power is off on those lines. I can chainsaw and drag my way out of here pretty quick I'm just not fuging around near downed utility lines. The flooded road really isn't that bad. That water is a foot deep at max, most areas are more like 6". That water will recede below road level by nightfall. Of course the power company's emergency line is just ringing busy.

It would be different if he had been showing any signs of high level NFL talent. Plenty of young QBs struggle. It's hard to read NFL defenses. It's hard to adjust your decision making to account for faster, smarter DBs breaking on the ball. A lot of times you're playing on a bad team, behind a bad OL. But Bryce just flat out doesn't look like he belongs in an NFL field and it's getting worse, not better.

There was a wicked line of thunderstorms that came through. Super narrow. They were probably only 20-30 miles long but they were lined up like a freight train. Some areas just got pounded night before last into yesterday then this. That's where the worst localized flooding is gonna be. That small strip that took the double dose.

It was never going to be anything like Hugo. That storm made landfall way nearer so the wind inland was far more intense. This is a mountain flooding event from the rainfall from the remnants of large hurricanes. Hugo hit Charlotte still a legit hurricane. It's definitely the highest Wilson Creek has been in the past year but far from a historic event here locally. At an even more local level, we bought our house about three and a half years ago. I'm honestly not certain this would qualify as a top 5 flooding event during that timeframe in my 12 acre microcosm based on the flow of our small creek. You know it's a good one when the creek is flowing into the pond so hard it gets the whole 1/2 acre pond swirling like a whirlpool. That's happened twice. We're not even close to that right now. The visual flow of the creek is only reaching about halfway across the pond currently.

We bought our house about three and a half years ago and honestly based on our small creek, I'm not even sure this ranks as a top 5 flooding even in that timeframe for my tiny little 12 acre microcosm. You know it's a good one when the creek is pumping so hard into the pond that it causes the entire half acre pond to whirlpool. That hasn't happened yet with this storm.

Religiously? Hell no. But I'll throw on a Panthers hat on occasion.

My Giants fan buddy is getting frustrated by Burns' Jack of sacks. I'm told him not to worry, they'll come... when they're out of the playoff running and likely in games they're trailing by 2+ scores. That's when Burns shines brightest. Fighting for your playoff lives? He'll play every snap and not even show up in the boxscore.
