If you're relatively young and relatively healthy you're pretty unlikely to die from this, but that's a pretty damn selfish way of looking at things. I'd prefer people to take steps to try to minimize the spread of this disease to protect our elderly and immuno-compromised.

I said earlier that I hope the big take away of this whole thing will be increased acceptance of working remotely. I lied. That would be nice, but I truly hope the big takeaway from this is the realization of the dangers of politicizing EVERYTHING. Science is one of the key things that shouldn't be politicized.

He doesn't like facts and data.

You said something incredibly stupid and I called you on it using actual existing data. You say you understand that this is just beginning yet everything you type clearly demonstrates that you actually don't.
-
Sigh... Keep chugging that Fox News.
-
Well, since we're already sitting on 37 that ship has already sailed
-
You don't seem to comprehend that we (as in the majority of the world) are in the very beginning stages of this. This party hasn't even started yet.

Schools for sure. Honestly, in terms of spread kids are probably the biggest risk factor. This disease seems to be causing no to very mild symptoms in kids for the most part so it's far more likely to go unnoticed among them and far more likely to be spread because good luck keeping a kid from touching their face and being diligent about hand washing, etc.

I didn't mention Italy because it's part of the travel ban. The UK has an active outbreaks and is not. Same with South Korea, hence why they were specifically mentioned.
-
This. It's already widespread, we just don't realize it yet. 80% of cases are symptomless or mild. Most of those people likely haven't even been to the doctor. The ones who have were likely diagnosed with a cold and told to rest up.
-
If there's a long term benefit to this whole ordeal, I really hope that it's a more widespread acceptance of working remotely. With the technology available today there are a LOT of jobs that can be done arguably even more efficiently remotely. I've worked remotely for the past 11 years. Fug going to an office for 40+ hours every week.
-
Yet there's no travel restrictions to South Korea, UK etc. with active outbreaks. The travel restrictions seem to have no reasonable logic behind them.
-
Doesn't matter. There's already plenty of carriers right here.
-
I also have a good friend who used to work for the CDC and is currently a medical professor at Johns Hopkins. She says that based on what's happening elsewhere, this is already widespread in the states and we just haven't realized it yet, largely due to poor access to tests.

My father in law is a pediatrician. He saw a child today presenting with fever and flu symptoms. Mom (herself a doctor, this will blow your mind momentarily) was sick too. He asked her if they'd traveled anywhere recently. They just got back from Italy recently. Wait... what? The kid had been in school all day. Mom had been seeing patients the last two days having just gotten back from Italy presenting with these symptoms. The child's flu test came back negative. Waiting for the coronavirus results. FIL is self quarantining pending those test results.

There absolutely needs to be severe international pressure on China after this to shut down these wet markets that give novel coronaviruses the ideal environment to cross the species barrier. It seems like every one of these novel coronaviruses ends up getting traced back to Chinese wet markets.

Very sorry to hear it. :( Congrats on the new pup!

Maybe throw the ball to the 2nd TE on occasion instead of using him as a shitty undersized OT? Maybe throw the ball to Stew on occasion instead of having him stand beside Cam and holler "Dodge!" as the pass rush closes in? Maybe run a few quick slants instead of long, slow developing downfield routes. There was lots of things we could've tried, but we just kept doing the exact same things. If it's broke as fug, don't dare try to fix it, right? Wait, that's not how that saying goes at all...
-
If Matt sucks we're gonna be down at center too because Ryan will be suspending for beating his ass.
-
Repeat last year's strategy? No thanks. That nearly got Cam killed.

We saw all those stacked boxes because teams knew how Shula countered pressure. We were maddeningly predictable. Teams simply started sending extra blitzers to nullify our extra blockers. You don't have "extra" blockers when teams blue dog blitz you. Wade Phillips showed everyone the way.
-
Spread it out and focus on getting the ball out quick. Of course, Shula has shown that he's woeful at adjusting to OL weakness. His solution is to keep in eligible receivers to help block and rely on 2-3 guys to try to get open them act surprised when mediocre blockers can't slow down elite pass rushers.

Video: Kawann Short talks Vernon Butler, contract status
LinvilleGorge replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hope to see Short retained, but if it means a Suh contract we just can't do that. I'd rather see him elsewhere than see us give a DT that type of hamstringing money. My concern is that if we don't get him locked up this offseason and he has another double digit sack season, someone will be willing to give him Suh money. Then again, Gettleman values DT >>>>> CB and might be willing to keep Short with the tag. Meh, all things considered, way too early to worry about that stuff yet, but it's May and ain't a damn thing else to talk about. -
