I definitely agree with the stance that pandemic deniers are absolutely the biggest culprit in our current situation. Goal post movers who choose whether or not certain behaviors are acceptable based on sociopolitical factors are a (very) distant second.
-
Honestly, it blew my mind when in the very same week packed Ozark pool parties were widely condemned as reckless behavior while packed protests were celebrated by the very same people. WTF? The virus doesn't care about your sociopolitical views or your motivation for gathering in large numbers.

My best advice to everyone is to simply turn off the news. Turn it the fug off. I tune in once a month or so just to see what they're saying and it's no surprise in the least why America is so divided. Between our politicians and the news, everything is driving a wedge between us. Our politicians and media are leeches feeding on the division so they're dumping gas on the flames with a fire hose. Turn that poo the fug off.

My bad. I do agree with you that the media and politicians SHOULD feel a sense of duty to be truthful, but the reality is that they're a manifestation of society. If this BS didn't work for them, they'd stop doing it. They cater to the lowest common denominator and unfortunately more and more of society is trending toward that lowest common denominator.

Gotta love how people of a certain delusion will cling to the opinions of a tiny percentage of doctors and say, "See! A doctor said it!" while ignoring the reality that the vast majority of doctors are of a far different opinion. And in this case, it's a doctor with a huge political motive being that he's a sitting senator. But, really... it's everyone else who is politicizing this. Good grief.

What can I say, I don't have much patience for stupid people and this pandemic has really challenged what little patience I had.
-
Okay, Trump. That's the game he plays. Very strongly imply something, then claim that well I never specifically said that.

Yeah, almost 11k Texans are in the hospital right now due to being physically overwhelmed by a hoax. Oh wait, no that would be COVID.

Maybe the medical professionals explaining how deaths are classified? But no, let's listen to conspiracy mongers, politicians, and a handful of quacks who somehow achieved a medical degree and are seeking their 15 minutes of fame.

It's a lack of intelligence that leads to a lack of trust that is due to what is found in social media and spewing from the mouths of politicians. When all the virologists and epidemiologists are saying one thing and your idiot friends who barely graduated HS and a politician who is ignoring his own advisors say the opposite, well yeah... it's lack of intelligence that leads to believing group B over group A.
-
You and your fellow dumbasses were the ones who listened to the politicization. Virtually no actual medical professionals agree with your side. Stop listening to the politicians and start listening to the medical professionals.

Why do people still scream what could we have done differently? How do you explain how the rest of the entire developed world handled it so much better?
-
Trump will have to ramble incoherently about nothing and build more snowmen (uh, I mean give another speech) again to allow them to reload.
-
Explain why we're the global leaders in cases and deaths then. The rest of the world took aggressive mitigation measures. When we did, we saw our numbers begin to decline and then we threw caution to the wind again and here we are. It's morons like you why we're in our current situation. Thanks.

I particularly enjoyed the part where a fat old man decided he was going to try to fight two much younger, much fitter men. Buddy, I don't think that's gonna go well for you.

There's no more argument about masks than there is the Earth being flat.
-
It was over 4 months ago. And it's been discussed over and over on this thread. I understand why he said what he said at the time, but it was an idiotically reckless statement that lacked any foresight.
-
My goal for my next move is to not be able to see another house from mine.
-
Fake news. I've already been told by the smartest folks around that masks don't work. This thing just has to run its course. Nothing we can do.
-
This is one of the most powerfully stupid takes I've ever read on anything in my entire life.
-
I think this is the conclusion that more and more of us are arriving at.

Holy poo, remember that barista who got $100k+ in tips after some Karen posted something on FB hating on him because he did his job and told her that a mask was required? Well, that Karen is now the early leader in the clubhouse for Karen of the Year. She's suing the barista claiming she's entitled to half of those tips. https://abc7.com/amp/san-diego-starbucks-gofundme-for-barista-face-mask-complaint-gofund-me-lenin-gutierrez/6319618/?fbclid=IwAR1ihL_5Sh_o0cBTR_nLSeQ4WPV59qNG_2Kpqk2S4QICa0b8q4C7MJ6LkTs&__twitter_impression=true

So you haven't seen or heard that speech? You just decided that I had only heard that he'd said that and then parroted it? This actually explains a lot.
