  1. Yeah, I wouldn't argue too hard against simply saying RBs as a whole should be on the "not in the top 10" list.
  2. Bingo. There's certain positions that should pretty much just be off the board in the top 10. Interior OL, in the box safeties, two down players (think RBs who aren't receiving threats or our run stopping DL), and yeah non-pass rushing LBs are there too. Sure, if you get a Luke caliber player the pick will prove worth it but you can't count on a guy being a GOAT level player.
  3. Yeah, you can say that about everything. That's the point. Nothing happens in a vacuum. Every choice you make requires sacrifice elsewhere.
  4. Literally everything else. That's what opportunity cost is.
  5. Why would any tram want Teddy and his salary? He's not a trade asset. We'd be lucky to get anything for him.
  6. I hate to tell you, but racism isn't exclusive to the Carolinas. And neither is unfair criticism of players regardless of race. Some people are stupid and stupid people are everywhere.
  7. We all have. But we have a dedicated place for this line of conversation and it's not here. Take it to the TB.
  8. Pretty much this. Avoiding getting traded to a Jets or Texans type of situation is what makes elite players push for no trade clauses.
  9. I don't know. We'll see. It's worth the conversation. Sitting back and just accepting our suckage is the easy way out.
  10. Supposedly. That dude made a lot of claims about a lot of people. Whether there's any truth to any of it is debatable.
  11. I don't think they would take a hugely lesser offer, but they might take a slightly lesser offer. Assuming Watson would sign off on the destination. That's the thing here, he has a no trade clause. They have to sell him on the destination or it's a no go.
  12. All I'm saying is that lots of teams avoid trading star playing in conference. We're not in conference. That's it. You obviously don't want to consider making a deal for Watson and that's fine, but you sure are doing a lot of twisting of words in here.
  13. He said the Jets and Dolphins were being publicly discussed, he didn't say the Texans were game to work a deal with them.
  14. This is what I was talking about. Most fans can't grasp the concept of opportunity costs. Nothing happens in a vacuum. It isn't just about the draft. It's about the big picture. Don't feel bad though, Marty Hurney was a long-term NFL GM and he couldn't grasp it either.
  15. Beason was a 1st rounder too who also got signed to a huge 2nd contract. Yes, when talking overall investments those 2nd contracts absolutely matter. You're not drafting 1st rounders with the intent of letting them walk after 4-5 years. You're drafting for a decade.
  16. You forgot about Dan Morgan this quickly? All of those guys also signed huge second contracts that limited our ability to spend elsewhere. I think that's what a lot of fans miss. For every move there is also an opportunity cost. That move cost you the opportunity to make other moves. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, each of those huge second contracts proved to be a mistake.
  17. Yeah, I'm not convinced this is going to happen fast. But I am convinced their will be no shortage of competitors. If something happens, I think it will likely happen in the final weeks leading up to the draft.
  18. There's a LOT more than two investments we've made at MLB.
  19. It is a race. It's a race vs. the other teams trying to get Watson. He's a 25 year old MVP caliber QB. The Texans aren't going to struggle to drum up competitive offers.
