That wasn't a great effort by Adams there to stay inbounds. -

Yeah, and Matt Moore has a Super Bowl ring. That's a fact. -

Yeah, that's 100% CMC's fault. Deshaun Watson is barely over .500 as a starting QB and 1-2 in the playoffs yet we're falling over ourselves to get him because football is a team sport. -

That ball hit the goal line. It should come out to the 25. -

Wow. THAT is what I thought Fournette would look like in the NFL. -

Wow. What a catch by Godwin. That was the definition of a 50/50 ball. -

Gantt weighs in on Deshaun Watson and Matt Stafford

I think it's the Pats, Colts, or Niners. One of those three teams will do it. Teams that are positioned to compete now and need an upgrade at QB and in SF's situation, a QB who can stay on the field. I'd put the Bears in the mix too but I'd be shocked if the Lions traded him within the division. The Niners will likely have to significantly outbid the Pats and/or Colts to get the Lions to trade him within the conference but that's still a whole heap better than within the division. -

Well, I mean other than the quality of his play, there's nothing ELSE that suggests he's a far better QB! -
I don't see how the Saints can swing it with their cap situation. They need draft assets to rebuild a roster. But the I think the Pats are the leader in the clubhouse in terms of favorites but I wouldn't rule out the Niners and Colts. I'd say the Bears too but I doubt the Lions would trade him within the division.

I've tried to move in from it because what's done is done, but yeah... still fuging stings.
-
Yep. I think most had already assumed this, but now it's confirmed.

It would depend on our evaluation of Trey Lance IMO. If you think Lance is a franchise QB prospect, you draft him. If you don't, trading down and adding an additional #1 next year might be a good play because we're likely still going to need a QB in the '22 draft and two #1s would give us nice trade value to be able to offer to move up if need be.

None of this can be concluded until March 17th when the new league year officially begins.
-
I don't think we're rolling with Teddy, but I do think that Stafford will be valued higher by a team that feels a bit more pressured to be in win now mode.
-
He's a huge upgrade, yes. But I'm not convinced that'll make him an elite QB into his late 30s and early 40s. That'll take a lot of luck. 25 year old Brees doesn't get his ribcage pulverized like he got hit by a train from a run of the mill tackle.
-
No it's not. Brees, Brady, and Rodgers are just different and Brees hit that Father Time wall hard this year. Those guys are all-time greats and future first ballot HOFers. Stafford is definitely talented, but I don't think anyone is trying to say he's on those guys' level. Football is still a brutal sport and you need a ton of talent, a ton of football smarts, and a TON of luck on the injury front to have that type of longevity.

Fitts said we'd be involved in every deal and it goes without saying we have a need at QB. I expect us to at least have a conversation though I suspect we would prefer a younger option to build around. I expect him to land with a team that's more in win now mode. The Niners might be a strong player here. The Rams could be a sleeper candidate. The Bears would make sense if Stafford and his camp don't mind Nagy.

It's why I don't really buy the Jets sticking with him. If the right QB is there, I think they draft him. But maybe sticking with Darnold is an option if the right QB isn't there. Or... then again, maybe Gase really is just THAT atrocious. If Darnold bounces back to prove to be a quality starting QB, Gase should probably never work in football again.
-
I don't think he's had much of a chance and we've already seen another QB who disappointed under Gase thrive once out from under Gase. The Jets are rumored to be leaning toward keeping him anyway.

Is Zach Wilson a Franchise QB?
LinvilleGorge replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wish Lance was going to the Senior Bowl. I wonder why Jones is going and he's not? Neither are seniors. -
Monty Rice is an interesting mid-round prospect and I'm glad we have Snowden. Really intriguing prospect but it's hard to find an NFL comp for him at 6'7" 240 as an off the ball LB.
