Coaching is management.

Fine. I deleted it. Happy now?

Nah, it was a long time coming. Sorry, not sorry. He knows what he's doing. It's his always been his entire shtick.

You can get away with riding your team hard as long as they know at the end of the day you give a poo about them and have their best interests at heart. If they don't believe that, then you'll have a revolving door of people jumping ship as soon as they can.
-
poo gets said in the heat of things but in all my years of management one thing I've learned is that you never outright threaten to fire someone out of emotion. People will move past it, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they don't forget it and they'll definitely remember it if/when another opportunity comes calling.

Martellus Bennett dropping truth bombs
LinvilleGorge replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
One of the biggest problems with our society right now is a near complete lack empathy for others and an insistence that me and mine have it harder than them anyway, so fug 'em. Seriously, it's completely pervasive in our society. The guy wasn't necessarily complaining about anything, just providing a different perspective that fans rarely get. -
Yep, like I said in the other thread. That was a big old nothing burger that Newton tried to twist into something.

Tell that to Luke and John Beason and Andrew Luck, etc. -

Who are you hearing that from? One group of assholes doesn't make a different group of assholes any better or worse. -

You forgot that you're actually almost always being forced into retirement because you're physically broken and quite possibly brain damaged. -
https://sports.yahoo.com/martellus-bennett-twitter-rant-dark-side-nfl-dangerous-jon-kitna-041609652.html Long read but worth it. What he's saying makes a lot of sense.

It was so obvious they were trying to transfer the stardom from Lynch to Wilson. Such an arrogant play call and it backfired in hilarious fashion.
-
If we could get Watson for that, it's a no brainer. You make that trade immediately.
-
Yeah, Cam was in a league of his own physically and as a runner - especially in short yardage and red zone situations. The guy's rushing TD numbers for a QB may never be broken. He has more rushing TDs than great RBs like Eddie George, Stephen Davis, Willis McGahee, Larry Csonka, Thurman Thomas, O.J. Simpson, Herschel Walker, Terrell Davis, Jamal Lewis, etc.

All over the place. I'd seen as high as the upper to mid-2nd round and as low as the 4th-5th round. After the Senior Bowl, I expect the latter to be more accurate.
-
He looked bad at the Senior Bowl. Gotta remember, he was protected at Alabama playing between a likely 1st round LT and the Rimington winner at center. When he got left on an island at the Senior Bowl he got wrecked by quickness.

David Newton questions McCaffrey's support of Bridgewater
LinvilleGorge replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, that was a nothing burger. CMC just completely side stepped the question telling the truth - he's a player and those decisions aren't up to him so why bother to pay attention to the speculation? I mean, he could've thrown some support Teddy's way with some kind words, but he didn't. It's a reach to read a lot into that though. I mean, he only played a handful of games with the guy. It's not like he's ducking on supporting a guy he's played his entire career with. -
The reason we'd be making that deal is concern of being on the outside looking in on the QB run. If that's the case, the Raiders would probably be looking to climb higher than #8.

Schefter thinks Darnold worth 1st rounder if traded
LinvilleGorge replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers

Kirk Cousins is basically Teddy Bridgewater with the balls to actually maximize his rather meager NFL talent. Pass. *oh wait... trade Teddy to the Vikings and they trade Cousins to someone else?

We'll see. With all the teams that need QBs, I think someone will trade up. Maybe us.

Not so sure about that. He averaged 15ypc with Darnold. 11.5 with Teddy. Darnold helped him as a former UDFA get a $20M free agent contract that changed his life.
