Guy makes a lot of sense about us and Watson. (Good Read)

Yeah, I don't think so either but I can still wish. I just think we're highly likely to end up with the Teddy situation 2.0 if we get desperate. -

If we strike out on Watson and strike out in the draft, I'm ready to cut Teddy and just let Grier deliver that '22 #1 overall pick. -

If we strike out on Watson and strike out in the draft, Trubisky would be an upgrade from Teddy. I just wouldn't want to pay him elite money. I mean, you wouldn't have to but his contract plus Teddy's dead money would equal elite money. -

I don't agree with this. I'd honestly rather do nothing at all than send #8 and more to Philly for Wentz. -

Agreed. Carr is good, Gruden just always thinks the QB grass is greener on the other side of the fence. If Gruden stupidly parts ways with him we should absolutely be (very) interested. We just made a very aggressive trade offer for a QB with virtually identical stats this season who is four years older. -

With Detroit and Philly very possibly looking at QBs and also holding (or in Philly's case about to he holding) much better draft trade capital than us, I think our draft chances are dropping to near zero if I'm being honest. That WFT win might really bite us in the ass. -
This is NOT good for us. This makes the Eagles almost certainly to take a QB in the 1st. They're already ahead of us in the draft order and after a Wentz trade they'll have more draft capital to swing a trade up if need be. With Stafford and Wentz getting traded, that's two breaks that went badly against us for a QB at #8.

Let me wrap my head around this one... Trading for an injury plagued former MVP caliber QB a year after cutting an injury plagued ACTUAL MVP QB? Good grief, this would be the very definition of NFL desperation.

Fields is definitely an intriguing prospect but he also definitely runs hot/cold. In all fairness, so did Cam. Jimmy G is definitely better than Teddy. I don't think he's a LOT better but definitely better. I still don't think he's good enough and when combined with the notable durability concerns I think he's just a flat out no go IMO.

Evidently these guys are going to engage in a one on one QBing battle for the Lombardi this Sunday. The national media can hardly even mention the actual teams involved. It's all about Brady vs. Mahomes. I understand that QBs get most of the hype, but this has been over the top. I don't think that Tepper is failing to recognize it though. If you want national attention, you better have a superstar QB.

IMO, one of the most underrated Panthers. The guy was a very good CB but never got a ton of press because he just quietly did his job. He was basically Bradberry before Bradberry. At least we were smart enough to hang onto the first iteration.

Richard Rogers is approaching a decade of NFL coaching experience. They're not all elite.

I just want a winner. We gotta find a QB to have a chance at that but at the same time, we can't gut the roster to land that QB or we're gonna be this year's Texans. It's a balancing act. Kinda glad it's not my decision and I can just sit here and praise them if they get it right or call them dumbasses if they don't. LOL!

Now do you get it @Khyber53?
-
Yeah, I really want a Lombardi, but the best way to get one is to compete year in and year out. The flash in the pan approach hasn't exactly worked out for us.

Bingo. People get caught up in the results and overlook what led to them. He's accurate. He's smart. I'm sure he works hard and is a great teammate. But, he's very athletically limited. Wait... am I talking about Mac Jones or Teddy Bridgewater? I honestly don't think they're all that dissimilar.

I mean, there may be a reason why we've been so open about our desire to upgrade the QB position this off-season. That bridge may be in the background like It's very unfair if we were shitty to Teddy. It's not his fault. We signed the guy expecting him to be something he's not. That's on us, not him. Move on, but don't be shitty about it. It makes me wonder if Teddy trying to throw the staff under the bus after that Minnesota game wasn't spurred by numerous ass chewing where Teddy felt like he was being thrown under the bus and he was just tired of biting his tongue.

When I think about the best bosses I've ever had they all shared the same thing - at the end of the day they all truly cared about their people and despite the process you always knew that at the end of the day they were going to do the right thing for their people. Too many people forget that in today's corporate environment of constant "restructures" (a.k.a. waves of layoffs). It's why I bailed on the corporate world years ago and hope to god I never have to go back. If I do it'll just be for a temporary paycheck until I can find my way back out again. You take care of good people. They're more than numbers on a spreadsheet and mean more to you long-term than that short-term quarterly report that you're trying to make look better. Short-term bandaids create long-term problems.

That "I don't need you" attitude is what creates a revolving door of people jumping ship for greener pastures. If someone isn't getting it done, work on it or part ways with them. The "I'll fire your ass stuff" isn't effective. You're the guy's boss and you know that his job relies in part on you doing your job. The reality that you'll get fired for not performing is already fully implied. If you have to threaten that to get the best out of someone then they're not going to work out anyway.
-
LOL! I only go scorched Earth when I'm done with someone though. If I come at you like that, you're already fired.
