  1. Ginn is approximately 10,000% better than anyone currently on the roster as a punt returner. That in and of itself is extremely valuable. We didn't even have anyone on the roster last year who could be trusted to simply go out there and fair catch a damn punt. That's absolutely embarrassing for an NFL team. The fact that he can provide a deep threat in the WR corps is honestly just a bonus. If he can come in and just be 2013 Ted Ginn Jr., then this is a HUGE win for us.
  2. Why is everyone acting as if Ginn has already signed. It has only been speculated that he may have been on a plane to NC today. That's it.
  3. Just to play devil's advocate here... Player 1 Player 2 40 time: 4.87 4.77 225 reps: 21 21 Vertical: 35" 34" One of those guys is Greg Hardy, the other is Derrick Morgan. Greg Hardy's sacks in his 15 sack '13 season break down as follows: 3 vs. Giants - 13th in the league in sacks allowed 1 vs. Rams - 8th 2 vs. Bucs - 27th 1 vs. Pats - 12th 1 vs. Jets - 26th 3 vs. Saints - 10th 4 vs. Falcons - 20th This averages out to a ranking of 16.6 for Hardy's sacks which is smack in the middle of the number of NFL teams, so Hardy can't be accused of feasting on weak competition for his stats. If there is a knock on him it's that he only had 8 sacks through our 14th game. 7 of his 15 sacks came in the final two weeks of the season. The 3 against the Saints were huge as the division title was still in play at that point. The 4 against the Saints in the final week of the season were against the Falcons and they had been out of contention for weeks. Overall, I'm not gonna knock his '13 season. Yeah, the 4 sacks in the final week vs. an abysmal Falcons team was a bit of stat padding, but whatever. He had a helluva season.
  4. If Cotchery is in the plans, I hope the plan is no more than to allow him an opportunity to compete for a roster spot. Cotchery as the #4? I'm alright with that. Cotchery starting as the #2? Fug that noise.
  5. Our expectations are so low that Corey Brown is now considered a "great receiver". Good lord.
  6. What in the actual fug is Chip Kelly doing???
  7. Because that dude breaks more Panthers news than just about anyone else... while covering the Ravens. That's how bad our beat reporters suck ass.
  8. LOL! Took a 15 second google search to find a list of the American flights landing in Charlotte this afternoon. That internet, mang. I tell ya.
  9. He's flying American. An American Airlines flight from Akron, OH landed in Charlotte about half an hour ago. Just sayin'...
  10. Yep, I think Morgan would start opposite CJ with Ealy getting plenty of rotational snaps.
  11. Yep. I want nothing to do with Cotchery starting again. #2 WR needs an upgrade.
  12. Anyway to confirm if this is legit or not? Not familiar with that Twitter account.
  13. Chip Kelly has lost his cotdamn mind.
  14. I'm not taking a side on that one, nor did I intend to start a debate on the matter. I'm just saying that's been Elway's stance on Thomas all along. He never even entertained the thought of giving him a big money deal.
  15. Our rookie WR wasn't the most polished player in the league and dropped some balls! Fug the fact that he had 1000+ receiving yards - a feat very, very few rookie WRs achieve - he fuging sucks!!!
  16. Living here in CO, I can tell you that Elway was pretty adamant all along that Julius Thomas isn't an elite TE and shouldn't be paid like one. I think most people thought he was bluffing. Pretty clear now that he wasn't.
  17. I don't think Chandler is a lock to make the roster in the least. There's no savings by releasing him this year, but it doesn't really hurt us in terms of dead money either. It's essentially a wash. He was horrific last year. Worse than Bell even.
  18. On a cheap contract as a backup? I'd be fine with it. My fear is that Rivera would want to start him.
  19. I like the idea of him playing for an AFC team. I want the AFC to sign all the elite players who don't come to Carolina.
  20. Re-do that draft today and KB goes before #28. Not sure if he qualifies as a "steal" just because it's hard to truly qualify any 1st round pick as a steal. You expect those guys to be good, but he was definitely a great value pick. Now, Bene in the 5th? Norwell as a UFA? Those are steals.
  21. IMO, you simply can't spend that type of money on any player who isn't a franchise QB when you're dealing with a hard salary cap. Suh is a beast, but my god...
  22. I'll be the first to admit that the drops were frustrating, but to call KB's rookie season a disappointment is a statement that is worthy of nothing but ridicule. If anyone would've asked any of us when we drafted him at #28 if we'd be happy if KB had 1000 receiving yards and 9 TDs as a rookie, every single one of us would've HAPPILY taken that. There were a lot of posts from posters saying they'd be happy with 600 yards. Hell, historically, 600 yards is a pretty damn good rookie season for a WR. 1000 yards for a rookie is HUGE.
