  1. Get the preconceived notions out of your head. What we need at WR is SKILL. The fact of the matter is that whether you're talking speed WR, possession WR, whatever, we only had one starting caliber WR last year and that was KB. Cotchery was the only other WR we had who would've even made many other NFL rosters and he would've been a #4, maybe a #3 on those rosters. There's a reason why no one else wanted him. He's just done. Some of y'all are acting like all "possession receivers" are as slow as Jerricho Cotchery. That's not accurate at all. Put KB, Stevie Johnson, and Olsen out there with Ginn in the slot streaking down field to open up the underneath. Our offense would look MUCH different than it did last year.
  2. What I'm saying is that Stevie Johnson is the more proven WR. Three straight 1000 yard seasons while Buffalo's #1 target. Smith has one 1000 yard season and Flacco pretty much forgot he existed once he got an over the hill Smitty to play with. That should tell you something.
  3. People forget what a beast Stevie Johnson was in Buffalo. He's not the type of burner that Torrey Smith is, but he's a better WR. I hope we're all over him when/if his release becomes official.
  4. They tried to do the same thing with Stevie Johnson. Kaepernick's downfield accuracy sucks balls. When you're constantly scrambling for WR talent, it's probably time to look at the guy throwing the ball. We're going WR in one of the first three rounds.
  5. 49ers would've been better off paying Gore and Iupati that money. Maybe we can get Smith on the cheap in a year or two after Colin "One Read and Bolt" Kaepernick destroys his market value just like he did Stevie Johnson's.
  6. I wanted Torrey Smith, but HELL NO @ that poo!
  7. No one, but honestly, that 2nd round pick they acquired is probably more valuable in a trade than Foles was. Bradford is only signed through this season. After thinking about it, IMO this trade means that it's MORE likely that Chip plans on going all in on an effort to get Mariota.
  8. If this is true, the Saints have just thrown in the towel. Full on rebuilding mode.
  9. Craziest offseason ever. Dumb trade for the Eagles though. Bradford just cannot stay healthy. Meanwhile, they've given up lots of the trade bait they could've used to move up for Mariota.
  10. Glad to see Graham out of the division, but holy poo Seattle is gonna be tough.
  11. Wow. Not a smart move. Not a smart move at all. I know they're deep in cap hell, but Graham is an elite weapon.
  12. Nor do we. I think we're going to try to utilize him in the same role that we did in 2013.
  13. Smart move. Peyton Manning vs. Jay Cutler? No contest. With Julius Thomas gone, that position is wide open for the taking.
  14. Ideally we could use speed, but what we NEED is a better #2 WR. At least we have Ginn back in the fold to add some speed. He was a good field stretcher for us in '13.
  15. Yeah, that's what a I thought. I put it in the cart and it looked like an auto-renew type thing and that's why I didn't go through with it.
  16. Torrey Smith was #1 on my list, but I imagine we got priced out of that one pretty quick if we were even in the running at all. Others included: Cecil Shorts Eddie Royal Michael Crabtree Denarius Moore Hakeem Nicks Who knows, maybe one or more of those names will be in the dumpster when we dive in. I'm not even certain that some of those names would provide a definite upgrade at #2 WR, but they'd at least provide some competition.
  17. Does All-Pro auto-renew? If it does, I'm not interested. I know I'll forget and be stuck paying for it every month from here until eternity (kinda the point of auto-renew, I know). If it doesn't, I'll probably jump onboard. Only really interested in it during the offseason.
  18. With this FA WR market, I expected an upgrade at #2 WR. If we don't sign one, I think that's a very clear sign we're taking another WR in the first three rounds. I thought that was likely anyway, but if we go into the season with this WR corps and this upcoming draft class, forget penciling one in, you can write that in with a Sharpie.
  19. Honestly, when I think orange (the color, not the fruit), I think Tennessee.
  20. If that's the case, I'll admit that I'm a little disappointed. I knew we wouldn't be players for the elite FAs that will sign today, but I was hoping we'd be players in the second wave of FA and not wait until we were picking through the unwanted scrap heap. I know that worked for us with Mike Mitchell and Ginn two years ago, but it backfired pretty badly on us last season.
  21. Okay, so you're just gonna keep whining while adding nothing. Gotcha. Carry on.
  22. Growl, are you gonna name some names or are you just going to keep whining while adding nothing to the conversation?
  23. I'm usually not a grammar Nazi, but my god... My head hurts now. Thanks.
  24. Who? If you played on that Colts' D last year, I'm not interested. It'd be like signing a Panthers' FA OL.
  25. Still waiting on Jerricho Cotchery to finish his 40. He started right after breakfast. Rich Eisen is kicked back on the sideline laughing.
