  1. I don't see how anyone could not like this signing. There's virtually zero risk involved.
  2. Not sure how much influence Fox has over personnel in Chicago, but I can't imagine he'd value CB over a pass rusher anyway.
  3. I like our starting CBs, but I don't like having to rely on Colin Jones to play nickel.
  4. Oh well. Would've liked to have had him, but Alan Ball isn't going to make you or break you as a team. IMO, we were signing him for insurance purposes just in case the cards don't fall correctly for us to take a CB in the draft this season. Even if we'd signed him, I still think we would've been looking CB in the draft.
  5. Yep. It's why tendered restricted FAs are rarely offered deals by other teams. Other GMs know they're simply negotiating the terms of the contract for his current team.
  6. 1. KB 2. Vet other than Cotchery, Jennings is just fine 3. Rookie or Ginn 4. Rookie or Ginn 5. Brown Not buying the Hill talk.
  7. Do not want. But, with that said, if Proehl signs off on him that's all I need.
  8. Love it. Maybe someone reaches on the workout wonder and a real WR like Strong falls in our lap.
  9. I don't trust his hands. We already have one starting receiver with an issue with the dropsies. Not sure we can afford another.
  10. Cooper, White, Parker, and Strong. Those are the 4 WRs who I'd take in the 1st round.
  11. I see stuff like this mentioned a lot for prospects, but how often does it actually happen. Instinct by definition cannot be improved, it's something you're born with. Some guys just see things on the field better than others. You can improve your pre-snap read abilities, but once that ball snaps, you either have the feel for the game or you don't. I don't think it can be coached.
  12. It seems like every year there's about 25 "borderline" 1st round picks.
  13. If the top 4 WRs go in the first 12 picks, I'd prefer to look elsewhere at #25. IMO, those top 4 WRs are about as close to sure things as you're going to find in the draft, but after that there's a pretty steep drop off but a lot of depth. I'm not convinced there's a big difference between the #5 WR and the #10 WR.
  14. I'm on the fence. Always depends on who else is available. Also depends on how Gettleman and Rivera envision him being used and what they think about Tre Boston. Do they think he's a legit center fielder type FS? IMO, that's what you'd need beside Collins. If you have that type of safety to handle the deep coverage and can allow Collins to roam, that gets interesting. For awhile now, I've been on that Jaelen Strong wagon. If he's there, I want him.
  15. It's hard to be much better of a prospect at safety than #7 overall. Make no mistake, Barron was a BIG TIME prospect coming out of Alabama. Certainly heard a lot more clamor about him leading up to the 2012 draft than you're hearing about Collins right now. If anything, the main thing you can kind of infer about Collins is that he's the #1 safety by default with this being considered a weak overall safety class.
  16. That's right, Gettleman wasn't here when Barron was drafted. I knew the Panthers were high on him.
  17. With Cam? Very possible. With little Russell Wilson? Not a chance.
  18. I betcha Ron would've given the ball to Lynch.
  19. No huge uproar from me, but I would have Rivera ahead of Zimmer and McCoy right now. Arians at #4 is also wildly overrated. Just not a long enough track record to put him anywhere near that high.
  20. Change the definitions if you like. Not sure why you're so mad. It's weird.
  21. You said fans who thought he would be willing to sign a team friendly deal were delusional. He signed a team friendly deal.
  22. The contract he signed with the Cowboys is "team friendly". There is zero guaranteed money in that contract. All but $750k of it is based on workout bonuses, per game bonuses, and performance bonuses.
  23. I'm at the point where I assume Bersin won't make the team. I think we'll add another vet and another rookie in the draft. KB, rookie, vet, Ginn, Brown. We rollin' with that.
