  1. I'm gonna mock you relentlessly if (likely "when") we're in this same situation again next year.
  2. Pitts is generational as far as TEs go. He's probably the most dynamic TE prospect since Vernon Davis. I'd consider that generational.
  3. Could make him a generational player, but he's not a generational prospect right now as is.
  4. Do you understand the term "generational'? That reply strongly suggests not.
  5. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/04/27/mike-tomlin-on-steelers-draft-room-art-rooney-is-the-boss/ “Mr. Rooney’s the boss,” Tomlin said. “Kevin and I have worked so well and so long together that we can kind of communicate nonverbally in those moments. But at the end of the day, Art Rooney is the boss.” This is the environment Tepper knew as a minority owner and I get the vibe that it's the same story in Panthers land. At the end of the day, if Fields is there at #8 and Tepper wants an exciting new face of the franchise at QB, he's our pick IMO.
  6. I hope not. I hope we have the opportunity to either draft that QB or take the trade haul if we don't.
  7. Generational LT talents aren't talked about as possible late top 10 picks. He's a damn good prospect, but no he's not generational.
  8. Crazier things have happened. The #1 overall pick was between Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers ended up going #24. Yeah, he did it for clickbait but it won't be shocking if one of the QBs takes a slide. A slide all the way to #32? Yeah, I doubt that.
  9. The Jets have been ruining QBs for decades. Why stop now?
  10. I hope you're right. All I'm saying is that the Darnold wishful thinkers are playing the same mental gymanstics that the Teddy wishful thinkers were last year. It'll finally be different for the player here because... well, basically because I hope so. I hope so too, but I don't think so.
  11. He didn't "flip the switch", he just took the next step in his development - namely cutting down on turnovers. Darnold has a LOT further to go than Mayfield ever did.
  12. I like Wilson a lot, but going to the Jets is like the kiss of death for a QB. Baker Mayfield has so far overcome the Cleveland curse, we'll have to see if Wilson can do the same in NY with a MUCH bigger spotlight on him.
  13. No comparison. Watson is a young proven high level NFL QB. Fields is an intriguing, talented draft prospect. Watson is a lot more valuable. Well, WAS.
  14. It means we made what we felt was the best move at the time. If we didn't think a QB would be available at #8 then we had to do something, but if a QB we do like at #8 is available we should still pick him.
  15. Just imagine if for some reason they had convinced themselves that the Jets were going to stick with Darnold and they made that trade expecting to draft Wilson. I mean, that's absurdly far fetched but it'd be fuging hilarious.
  16. There's zero chance of that but damn if it wouldn't be hilarious. I just think it's dumb they're trying to play coy. They've already made their trade. It's not like they have any reason to be posturing.
  17. I'm hoping for Fields to be available and to be a Panther.
  18. A bet that requires you to follow me around like a puppy dog liking all my posts just seems lame. Nah, I'm just never gonna bet against my team. Even though I very seriously doubt Darnold works out, I hope the guy is the SB MVP next year. That'd be sweet. And since Winston plays for the Saints, I hope he throws all the INTs and no TDs.
  19. I'm in favor of paying good players at premium positions or elite players at non-premium positions. Shaq is the type of re-signing you can't make. You can't pay good players at non-premium positions elite money.
  20. Drafting Horn would sting, especially at #8. He's basically a Bradberry clone. Could've just re-signed him. Re-signing Shaq over Bradberry will probably always chap my ass.
  21. Honestly, this line of reasoning would make sense IMO. Back in the days when head hunting safeties were roaming I'd be a lot more worried about his lack of weight. These days though, I'd the pads pop the flags fly. It doesn't really even have to be a hit that's illegal under the significantly revised rules. Pretty much any big hit that would've been featured on ESPN's jacked up segment back in the day draws a flag today. They're definitely trying to take hitting out of the game in the secondary. Fug you if you're a RB though. LOL!
  22. My confidence in them in this regard would go from low to non-existent.
  23. To be fair, right now our "process" of finding a QB resembles Ray Charles pitching horseshoes.
